- Wanderer528044656850 contributionsReally good value for moneyReally enjoyed this experience. Our guide Bram was friendly and very knowledgeable and although you walk quite a distance, it is all very comfortable, easy walking. The food tastings are generous and plentiful so you definitely won’t be eating a meal anytime soon after. A great way to see the city and try different foods and eateries.Written September 26, 2024
- claren3790 contributionsMust doSuch a good trip…educational, insightful, and relaxed. Saw and heard about Rotterdam, eating lots of snacks. Plenty food, plenty drinks and Ugo was great xWritten September 22, 2024
- hdt8220 contributionsSee the city and try different foodsI had a free day to explore while my husband was in business meetings. This was a nice way to spend the afternoon and learn more about the city’s history as well as try out different foods. Thoroughly enjoyed. Got out of my comfort zone and tried herring.Written September 18, 2024
- X3957COloganl0 contributionsAn excellent well-rounded walking tourThis tour is a great way to spend time in Rotterdam. More than just about food, we learned a lot from Rob about the history, architecture, and modern life of the city. While not at all rushed, there’s plenty of walking to be able to get to various points of interest. Rob is a great guide and the food was delicious!Written September 18, 2024
- mymiridion0 contributionsHighly recommendedOur guide Usha was fantastic and he imparted really enlightening insights into the history and current situation of Rotterdam - the geopolitics, the street art and architecture. - freida_moore0 contributionsGreat introduction to RotterdamA really good walking tour with lots of interesting facts about the City. Hugo was a great guide who was obviously passionate about his city. The food was also really good and gave us a good understanding of all the nationalities that make up the local peopleWritten August 28, 2024
- donnakT7041MP0 contributionsFantastic Food Tour!Astrid was a phenomenal guide. The meeting location was easy to find and the tour started promptly. Our route took us by many interesting areas and sites. Astrid shared the history and stories behind told us the sites bringing them to life for us. The “bites” were very generous portions and included the best fries we have ever eaten, chicken satay or vegetable dumpling, chicken curry or Tahoe sandwich, herring (suprisingly good) and fried cod with a beer, wine, or soda, poffertjes (very yummy!), and Gouda cheese, two vegetarian bitterballen, along with another beer, wine, or soda. We ended the day more knowledgeable about Rotterdam, its history, its ways of co-existing with the sea, and its efforts to be more environmentally friendly and wondering how we could possibly eat dinner after all the food we enjoyed throughout the 4+ hours we spent with Astrid. Make your reservation and request Astrid’s tour—guaranteed you’ll have a fantastic experience!Written August 25, 2024

- Teka20 contributionsGreat food tour with a fantastic guide. Our guide (Umesh) was very personable young man, and extremely knowledgeable about the city & its history. The food choices were varied and all were excellent. The walk was easy for our group (1 in mid 30’s & 6 seniors). It included a short boat ride from one location to another. The tour had about 6 stops & actually lasted a bit longer than scheduled, as we were just relaxing & enjoying a beer & some cheese. I’d definitely recommend this tour & I’d do it again because he rotates about 20 different venues & each tour is a bit different.Written April 22, 2024
- tonif2540 contributionsA great walking tour, with good food and good company. We love to book food tours in new cities and we'd never been to Rotterdam. It was a fantastic tour with just 6 people led by our great guide Rob. The pace was perfect and the food (bites) were just right. We learnt so much about Rotterdam and the 4 hour tour was never rushed and we got a much better idea of the city than wandering ourselves. It also included a water taxi over to the Southside, something we wouldn't have done. Rob also showed us The Depot which we visited the next day. What a fantastic bit of advice that was. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rotterdam.Written April 6, 2024

I had the good fortune of Paul being our guide on this tour. Not only did I become more in tune with the city (layout, history, architecture, food scene) he actually made me more knowledgeable than some of my colleagues that live outside of the center. The rest of the week, the Dutch I worked with were shocked at my background of their city and only after about 4 hours with Paul. This experience was so good that I am committed to finding similar ones in other cities that I’m visiting for the first time. Book this early during your stay and the benefits will last. Thank you Paul for a great experience!

At 11u30 we were present on the Westblaak 8 for our tour with Paul from Bike and Bite. We had a group of 8 persons and another Belgian couple joined us. First of all the bikes were given to us and the saddles adjusted. Than a short explanation of which side is right and which is left (?). But the most important was of course the sign to stop for some explanation or to have a drink or a bite. The history of Rotterdam was given by Paul throughout the tour (some 15km). Some nice anecdotes were given and it was very interesting. We drank a special coffee, had some meatballs, drank a beer and ended in the Great New York Hotel on the right side of the Erasmusbridge. It was a very interesting bikeride to get to know Rotterdam better.
For us all it was a 10. Thanks to Paul (from Ireland).

My husband and I had a wonderful time on our Rotterdam bike and food tour. Astrid was our guide, and I thought she did an awesome job! She clearly had a very in-depth knowledge of the city's art, architecture, and history and was fun to talk to. The biking was super fun, and all the food was delicious. I thought the amount of food (as well as three beverages!) was also very generous for a food tour. I thought Astrid also did a good job pivoting when my husband's bike malfunctioned and he had to exchange for another. It was just my husband and I and one other person on our tour, so I felt like I was definitely able to have any question I had answered, which was kinda nice. The only thing I would recommend is maybe marking the outside of the building a little more clearly. The directions said to look for a Bike and Bite banner on an easily missed side street, but there wasn't one, and there's no storefront exactly, so it was a little difficult to figure out if we were meeting at the correct place. Despite that, it was a delightful tour, and I feel like I got to see a lot of the city in a very enjoyable way.

Dear Vanessa,
What a nice review, thanks for going into so much detail! I'll be sure to relay the message to Astrid. Thanks as well for the tip about the starting point, we have actually just changed it to the main entrance of the shop which is much easier to find. All the best and perhaps see you again in the future!
Cheers,
Paul.

I took a bike&bite tour with Astrid who was very kind, knowledgeable and professional. She shared her passion to the city's culture, history, art, food and architecture. It seemed that she really likes what she's doing. We had a great group, a lot of laughs and the bikes were really easy to handle. I recommend this tour very much!

We did this bike tour on the first of our 8-day trip to Rotterdam and it was 100% worth it. It was the perfect way to get an overview of the city, along with tips from our excellent guide Wilhelm. Our family of 5 (parents with young adults) was alone on the tour so we could ask all the silly questions we wanted about Rotterdam and the Netherlands. Our food choices were interesting, with our favorites being the patat, the poffertjes and the beer near the Markthal. highly recommend!

We wanted to do a food tour but was worried our 3 year old would find it boring. The Bike and Bite tour was just perfect for him and kept him constantly entertained, as were we.
Paul was the perfect guide. You can tell he is also a really nice guy and his tour was fun, informative and full of tasty food.
I think this was probably the highlight of our holiday so a huge thank you to Paul for such a memorable experience x

Honestly if you want to go on a bike ride round Rotterdam, book this. Our guide was knowledgeable and passionate about his home town. I went to places, ate food and drunk beer that I would not have done without local knowledge. Brilliant. Oh and if you get the option, have a little drink of "je moeder" it's awesome.

Astrid was an amazing tour guide - very knowledgeable but also a fun person to spend time with. We saw the major sights, and enjoyed food/drink at the same time. What’s not to like!? (I was happy they had Gluten Free options too. Thank you). Definitely recommend.

Great tour! The meet location is hard to find; leave yourself lots of extra time. If you're not a good bicyclist - do something elsewhere. Learn what the paint on the road means and obey it. Our Guide was great! The food was great! Enjoy the beer but not too much, you're driving home!

Hi Stephen,
Thanks a lot, nice review and good tips :). We stick to 1 beer each on the biking tours, as the same rules apply to biking as they do to driving in NL. Have a nice rest of your trip!
Best,
Paul.

I was actually hoping for more from the tour. Important sights such as Centraal train station or the cube house were not approached at all although in close proximity to the tour. On the Erasmus Bridge I would have liked a short stop with information. So we just cycled over it without stopping or learning anything....
I found the graduation at the brewery too short at about 15 minutes. In the end, you had the feeling that you wanted to finish quickly.
So the tour was quite nice overall, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. Our guide was called Bram

Dear Thomas,
Thanks for your feedback, sorry to hear the tour didn't quite live up to your expectations. We want to give our visitors a good mix of the highlights and the hidden gems, and in this case Bram chose a couple more hidden gems than highlights after asking the group what they would like to see. As for the bridge, we don't stop there during our bike tours because it creates dangerous situations with all the traffic that is coming by. Bram did tell about the bridge when you had reached the other side, as we always do.
You were rebooked from the walking tour due to too few bookings, it sounds like that might have been a better fit for what you wanted to see and do. I would like to offer you a 20% reduction on any next booking that you make for a walking tour with us, can also be in Delft or soon in The Hague! Shoot me an email to get it organised, would be nice to welcome you again.
All the best,
Paul.
