In August 2024 when visiting the beautiful old city of Haarlem we did a 50 minutes boat trip with Smidtje. It was a great experience for 16 euro per person, and gives the visitor beautiful views from the river to the old houses and buildings. It also allows you to enjoy the view of the city of Haarlem without getting tired. A very good recommendation to discover Haarlem on the river.

Pleasant tour of Haarlem canals with a not very informative recorded guide that didn't always seem to line up with our location. This is billed as a 50-minute tour, but it was only exactly 35 minutes long. Compared to other canal tours I have taken in the Netherlands, this was definitely the least satisfying.

Straightforward booking and organising Audio played through speakers in boat was in English and clear to listen to Friendly staff We were able to do the trip in open boat despite rain and umbrellas were provided if wanted Poor docking at end of trip as another boat was parked on the gangway so another older female customer fell - lack of foresight by the boatman to accommodate her getting up steep steps when we all had to climb across another boat.

We enjoyed the trip very much. Lots of information given by the guide. Great sense of humor. The boat was nice and so was the weather.

Sadly, it was raining most of the time, so water on the windows made it. difficult to see or take pictures. My advice is, if it is raining, go back later when the windows are dry. The information was helpful, but difficult to see things. they did the best they could, and they were very nice, but it rained a lot our week in the Netherlands, so that's that!

Fun little cruise, pointing out some significant points of interest as we cruised along. Enjoyed it very much, found Haarlem charming!

The captain was extremely friendly and new a lot about the history off Harlem. He gave us lots of information about the 8o year war with the Spanish and the catholic influence on the city of Harlem.

I loved that this tour had very few people on the boat, and it felt like we could converse with the captain. We didn’t just have to listen to some earplugs… He was responsive and would answer our questions.

Boat was warm and the skipper very knowledgeable. Food and drink available to buy at the dock to take onboard.

Much information about Haarlem, even though I am from the Netherlands myself en visited Haarlem multiple times, i learned new things. The male captain/host did a great job telling about Haarlem with humor and enthousiasm. Also important, i was with my two kids (3,5 and 1,5) and they could walk around without an annoyed host so thank you for that!

Surprisingly educative tour for someone who lived in the inner city of Haarlem for 2 years. You see many different angles than when travelling the town by foot/bike/car. Captain gave amazing and funny comments. A main downside is crammed space - you really feel like an oompah loompah on the chairs and benches, and that takes away part of the fun.

Nice boat trip through the canals of Haarlem. Seven a lot of Haarlem. Unfortunately we only had information from an audio guide, which was not always easy to hear. The skipper didn't say anything himself, he was talking to a friend the whole time.

Great way to see Haarlem if short of time. Captain was knowledgable and translated into English Dutch and German for those on the trip
