    Rembrandt tour
Guide knew a lot of detail about the Rembrandt paintings and was very knowledgeable. The guide was very nice and knew answers to all of our questions. This tour is ideal for people who want all of the little details.

    Necessary background on Rembrandt
The tale of Rembrandt‘s life in Amsterdam is little known, and I highly recommend this tour before seeing the extensive collection at the Rijksmuseum.

Nice house, staff can use work
The house itself is lovely and while we enjoyed learning about Rembrandt, I wish I could say the same about the staff working at the house. They were rude and unhelpful when asked simple questions. One member of our group has difficulty with steps yet they made her walk up and down the steps to the lower level to buy a ticket without offering her the use of the elevator despite our asking to allow her to wait on the first level while we purchased a ticket. Just not a very hospitable atmosphere for visitors

UNFORTUNATELY TERRIBLE SERVICES.
have been trying to book this museum for 23rd August as trip advisor told me there was free slots open at 1.45 and 2pm.

I arrive to Amsterdam Sunday 21st and wanted to be able to go to this expierence as ive heard such good reports.

I kept getting a refund and an email saying they couldn't book me in on that date. I am very angry that they where able to take my money but not provide me with tickets..

The last booking I made was this morning and again got an email saying again they couldn't book me in but have no received my last refund so I am still currently over £69.00 down.

The Van Gogh museum is a must see place in Amsterdam. The art will not disappoint, although the way they chose to display the work and outline his life may. While I highly recommend spending time getting to know the artist and appreciating his work, please know there are some challenges. The museum did not make his work chronological, they grouped it by scenes (water, people, fields, etc), which I think takes away the evolution of his work and certainly downplays how his mental illness affected everything about him. The audio is not in numerical order based on the museum layout, so you are constantly looking for random numbers (5 then, 31, etc), I personally, found it taxing. Of course, the art is what you will want to experience and it is worth every inconvenience. My biggest disappointment was that they had absolutely NO Starry Night paintings at all. None. How can this be? Well, it, of course, is on tour, but that does not mean they should exclude what is likely his most famous piece from his home museum. At the very minimum, they should have lithographs showing the Starry Night series and tell that it is out on tour. In that way they could still educate about that period of his work. My advice, go to see his work, but know something about him before you go and be prepared for a few challenges discovering him as he truly was.

I can’t express how glad I am that we bought these tickets in advance. The museum was sold out every day and we just walked right up and in. Zero line. We were able to stay as long as we wanted and all staff at the museum were friendly and informative. And of course, Van Gogh and the other artists displayed are timeless and extraordinary!

On 14th March I booked three tickets to the Van Gogh Museum for 19th April. I got full confirmation and a note saying the booking cannot be changed or cancelled. Fine! So I booked the Amsterdam hotel and ferry. On 4th April I got an email to tell me a technical error meant there were no tickets available and the next available day was 26th! I cannot cancel the hotel or ferry and our main reason for the trip was the museum. No apology from THINGS TO DO just a note saying I could get a refund but no instructions as to how. Totally disgusted with the lack of service and total disregard for people. No reply as of yet. Never use this company again.

I have bought tickets for the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam via Trip Advisor.
I received a confirmation email which was a voucher and i could download the ticket but I was unable to do so. So I contacted Trip Advisor by phone to be told they aren’t tickets but vouchers and I was to collect them at the museum.
When I arrived to the museum, I spoke to museum representative, who checked their systems and could find no tickets from Trip Advisor in my name.
As a result I missed the opportunity to visit the museum, which was a major part of my trip.
I am very disappointed in the service i received from Trip Advisor. They had plenty of time to organise everything as i bought vouchers two weeks in advance.
I will be seeking compensation.

Do not book with this company. Many months ago We booked our tour and paid for the noncancel or changed tickets. However, a week before our trip this company canceled our tour to the Van Gogh Museum and now the museum is sold out. Flying all the way to Amsterdam with the main dream of seeing Van Gogh’s art. This is the worst your group ever!

The museum is esthetically beautiful and comfortable to support being there for hours. The story of Vincent Van Gogh is well told with recorded audio/headphones. There are SO many of his paintings! The restrooms are modern and clean. The restaurant is delightful.

I’m a huge Van Gogh fan so I loved this whole experience. I would allow 2-3 hours for it though, not 1 hour as suggested. Also, there’s really no mention of ‘The Starry Night’ which I know is in New York but it’s my favourite painting of all time! Otherwise amazing & moving with such a lot to see & marvel at.

Who knew there was so much more to Van Gough’s story other than the ear incident and time in hospital with his mental illness . Really fascinating , well organized with a clear narrative .
We also has the pleasure of Gustav Klimt and it was wonderful to see the Beethoven Frieze .

Wonderful museum about not just the work, but the life of the man who created it. The museum included many of his works, but also those of the artists who influenced him and formed his community. The museum is spacious and well-laid-out. It is also bright and a pleasure to tour.
