About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- wholepetvet0 contributionsSee some cultural depthCatherine was great. She’s the perfect person to show the red light district. She’s knowledgeable and good at presenting lots of different prospectives.Written November 1, 2024
- Z9572THheinzs0 contributionsVery interesting and moving tourAmazing interesting and emotional tour! We realized during the tour how terrible the war has been and then also this moving story about Anne Frank and her family…Our guide from Trigger Tour was so respectful and had a lot of knowledge. A ‘must do’, this tour whenever you visit Amsterdam!Written October 31, 2024
- Thomas L0 contributionsInteresting and informative.Very knowledgeable and professional. Veteran guide with home based knowledge of the city. Historical and social understanding of Amsterdam.Written October 23, 2024
- Lauren Z0 contributionsHighly recommend! This is a great tour if it’s your first time in Amsterdam. We had a great time on this walking tour. Our guide, Kevin, took us through the city from the east end to the west end and made a lot of stops to point things out to us of historical value and also of cultural value. Our guide was very knowledgeable of the history of the city and explained a lot to us about the coffee shop culture and the red light district.Written October 19, 2024
- Patrick C0 contributionsDefinitely worth the timeOur tour guide, Catherine ( i pray that I didn't mess that up), was absolutely fantastic. I came into the tour thinking I was gonna see the seedy underbelly of the red light district. To my surprise, I learned the deep, rich history of not only the district but also the surrounding areas. You will not be disappointed.Written October 18, 2024
- S9680SMchloea0 contributionsInformative and good funSuper informative tour. Our tour guide was Aarre and he was class. Really passionate and engaging when talking about the history of Amsterdam. He made the whole tour really relaxed as if it were your mate showing you around the city. Would definitely recommend asking for Aarre if you decide to go on the red light tour! Thanks againWritten October 17, 2024
- jetkitty0 contributionsNo one should miss this tourOur guide, Iris, was amazing. She was a warehouse of information. It was educational as well as entertaining. She knew her WWII historyWritten October 16, 2024
- Alexvanegas0 contributionsNot worth the priceI feel so bad for writing a bad review, but unless you have no idea what the red light district is, then this tour will be for you. I had already walked around the red light district a day before this tour, so I felt like we basically just walked around the same parts again, which you can do for free on your own. I do appreciate the history behind it, but again, something you can look up online. The tour guide was nice, but we had to stop every single time someone asked a question and then she looked mad/annoyed every time we asked questions because she kept on repeating that we were already running behind and that the tour would end later than it should. She even asked to keep going and not ask questions, in a nicer way, but I feel like that’s what the tour is about and you can just talk and walk, since we were not near the windows at that time.Written October 11, 2024
- laN290IS0 contributionsExciting and interestingI am curious about the Red Light district in Amsterdam so I went for a tour with a group. Our tour guide, Adam, was knowledgeable about the history of the area. Keeps us right on what and what not to do. He was a fun guy. Good to do if you are going solo. Give this a go.Written October 10, 2024
- Smmoriarty0 contributionsAwesomeAdam had so much knowledge about the red light district. It’s history, why the buildings are built the way they are, the people, the government & prostitution. He made everything very interesting and had a lot of great jokes.Written October 10, 2024
- allisonmtl0 contributionsVery InformativeOur tour with Pillar was a lot of fun and very informative. Definitely left the tour feeling I knew my way around the area more and had more direction as to where I wanted to revisit later in my stay in the city. Highly recommend!Written October 7, 2024
- 649frederickb0 contributionsGreat!Great tour with Kevin, who provided helpful and entertaining commentary. We went mid-afternoon, so the Red Light District wasn’t yet in full swing and we loved every minute. Thanks.Written October 5, 2024
- staceybL397IK0 contributionsA unique and interesting tourA fascinating insight into a world rarely seen by the average UK person. Our tour guide, Andrea, was friendly and knowledgeable. She gave us a good understanding of how Amsterdam came to have a red light district and a lot of other interesting historical facts about the area. As the night went on, she explained a lot about the current situation, how the size of the area has reduced and how the local Mayor is keen to move the area away from the inner city. It's not clear what the future holds for this area so catch it while you can. It's definitely a sight to behold and I recommend catching the tour at night time. Make sure you pencil in a return during the day, as the vibe is quite different. Definitely a unique tour to take 10/10 would recommend.Written September 28, 2024
- Scenic3751600 contributionsAdam knows the district inside & out!Adam, our tour guide, was great. He gave us an offbeat perspective to the colorful history of the area. His edgy humor was the perfect fit for this kind of tour. We did the 6PM tour, which put us in the heart of the red light district during shift change. I’d recommend an earlier or later tour.Written September 27, 2024
