    Walking tour
Small group tour, we were the only ones on this one, offers you a personal experience. Got to see things that we would definitely not have seen without a guide. Got to see ancient roman walls, fresco and Roman bath, none available from the street. Local knowledge and information was very interesting and informative. Well worth doing.

A lovely and informative tour along the river in Zurich
This was a great, informative tour! Although Zurich is not unknown to me, this was an eye-opener and a discovery of new parts of Zurich and I learnt a lot. What was very amazing was that you walked from the main station to the former industrial part without having any traffic at all, only walking paths. Maria was a terrific guide. She has a very good knowledge about the history of Zurich and could explain and tell stories about all the landmarks and the buildings we saw along. She knows her way through all areas of Zurich. What I appreciated very much was her flexibility about the pickup point and the length of the tour. It was a very personal and enjoyable evening tour. I can warmly recommend her.

    The Hip Zürich West
We did the tour with the Guide Maria a hot early Monday evening mid July. We booked the tour as we wanted to get to learn more about the new Hip Zurich West Area, that in the 80ies and early 90ies was a “black chapter” in the history of Zürich, however since some years is the area with new urban restaurants and bars. The tour started at Central, we walked over to Landesmuseum and walked through the Parc Platzspitz along the river Limmat. The parc became “world famous” for the “open drug area” end of 1980; but is now totally cleaned up, with regular cultural and festive activities. At the end of the Parc, we headed over the bridge and followed the river along the old railway tracks to Zürich West. The area along the river was packed by people swimming and jumping into the river, sunbathing along the river walk or sitting in one of the restaurants or bar along the river. We made a stop here for a drink as the atmosphere was so cool and Maria had nothing against it. She said we can decide the tempo and the tour takes 2 hrs, she would bring us to an area at the end we’re we can find a restaurant and then get back to the main station by the train or bus. We followed the “old railway” track down to the arcades (a little like the High Line in New York), were you have shops, a huge Parc for kids and families, restaurants. Now in summer, you could really feel this has become a living part of the city, once only old fabrics and a lots of traffic existed here. We made a stop at the “Surf-wave Bar” don’t remember the name, but there is a big wave-machine in a pool and surfers are training and showing tricks. We continued to Frau Gerald Garten for Dinner which is a very well known alternative easy-going out-door restaurant were Maria dropped us off. Maria explained the way to the Railway station Hardbrücke just some minutes away so that we could come back to the main station after our dinner. The tour is great for couples and friends, young people (at least young in mind) and mid-agers like myself, that want to feel the pulse of the city. Next time I come to Zürich, I will bring a friend and do the tour myself with more time, take a short swim, do some shopping at the arcades, pic-nic in the Parc and make a stop in the Freitag container pop-up store store (they create bicycle bags made of recycled plastic, very popular by students in Switzerland). The tour is different and more personal than the tours I have booked in the past through a tourist company. You have a private Guide and can create the tour as you like - Maria was very knowledgeable and told us small stories to the areas, both historical and personal experiences. Warmly recommended

We had an amazing tour of historic Zurich with Alexander. He resides in this district and shared so much interesting information about the history, culture, and government of Switzerland as well as many interesting anecdotes of important people who have lived here. Our walking tour took us through old town, the university area and along the river. It was fun to see all the young students, residents of the city and fellow tourists and learn more about life in Zurich. The two hours flew by and we learned so much! Alexander is a great listener as well and customized the tour when possible to match our interests. He made excellent suggestions of restaurants, things to do and places to visit during our stay. It was a perfect introduction to Zurich and Switzerland and we highly recommend the Historic Tour of Zurich with Alexander. Thank you SO much Alexander!

We had a great tour with Maria in old town Zurich. We loved the personalization of the tour. Many sights were covered that we may not have seen otherwise, such as the remains of the town wall and Einstein's University! Maria was very knowledgeable about the history of the City from the many churches to the details of the homes and buildings which dot the old town area. This is a walking tour, and there are hills and steps, we did not find this too much but some may if they have issue with walking on cobblestone or climbing stairs. We highly recommend this tour when in Zurich, it was the highlight of our time in this beautiful city.

Maria is great and customized the tour to meet my needs. She met me outside my hotel and we toured all over the city. I enjoyed learning about and seeing locations in the city that I wouldn’t have otherwise. Maria is very friendly and knowledgeable and made the tour worthwhile and fun!

We have been on the tour with Maria and it was great disappointment. She is wonderful woman, but she gave just random facts about the city. On some of our questions she did not give a clear answer or said that she will google it. Instead of telling us the story of the city she just told us about stores and restaurants. It was not a walk with a guide, but it was a walk with a nice woman who just live in the city, knows the name of the street and in which store what you can buy. She even told us that she should know the answer on the question that we had but she does not.

Hello, thank you for you feedback, sorry you didn’t like the tour. As a citizens of the old town, we try to combine showing historic hidden sites and also tell about how life is in the Oldtown today. Also some restaurants are worth to tell about, because they have been here since many years , (600 years). Thank for your booking and we will consider your remarks. Friendly regards Maria

We had a nice time with Maria! It was just 2 of us on the tour. We got a nice overview of the city and got to see a lot of "behind the scenes" things that you wouldn't be aware of just walking around on your own. I feel like we covered a lot of ground in the time and learned some interesting city facts along the way.

Had the pleasure of this walking tour a few days ago at 6pm with Maria. I really enjoyed it, she's very lovely to talk to and ask questions and she's very knowledgeable. It lasted about 90 mins, I actually wished it was longer as I enjoyed it so much. It just felt so natural. Saw extra things on this tour as opposed to another walking tour I did of the old town and this one had some little hidden gems, and with Maria being so nice, I am so pleased I booked it! Definitely recommend, A+!!

We only had one day in Zurich as we had connecting trains so we wanted to do something in a few hours. This tour started not far from the rail station so was ideal for us and in 5 minutes walking.

The tour was excellent and we got to hear so much about Zurich. Marie was an excellent host and showed us some very neat places with so many details.

Enjoyed it so much, many thanks.

Tour guide greeted us on time with a smile. She took us around all the sights, high and low, and on both sides of the river. We highly recommend this tour. She really knows the history of Zurich and we had a pleasant evening walk. She has keys to the old city wall and other fascinating places.
