The morning coach tour of Zurich with picture stops at Lake Zurich and the Dolder Grand Hotel were a great way to start off to see Zurich’s highlights of places you want to see later. Our guide was Marcel who kept the pace upbeat and interesting with his info bits on Zurich and the Swiss urban life. We got an idea of how Zurich is laid out for what we might want to do later. At the last photo stop at the Fraumünster, I opted to separate from the group on the bridge in front of Grossmünster Church and Marcel was kind enough to clearly point out the way to the Shilquai Bus parking for the afternoon half of the tour. With the 1 hour break, I managed to have lunch and tea on Limmatquai and had time for a scenic walk back to the Shilquai bus stop.
The afternoon half started promptly with Marguerite as our guide and Peter as our driver. She too was engaging as she shared info about the Swiss vineyards along the way to Schaffhausen. Rhine Falls was beautiful and we had a short but exciting boat ride to get close to the cascades. It was an extra 10 CHF (cash only) which Marguerite had explained clearly prior to arrival at Schloss Laufen. We spent enough time at the Schloss Laufen admiring the powerful Rhine Falls. We had quite a work out navigating steps to get back up to the viewing platform from the boat ride, but for me it was a great exercise. After a few minutes of browsing souvenir shops at Schloss Laufen, we proceeded to charming Stein Am Rhein, a beautiful medieval Swiss town lined with colorful and artful buildings.
We were given more than an hour to explore this charming little town and upon Peter’s suggestion, tried the some gelato at a popular spot.
Stein Am Rhein is so beautiful, I just kept snapping photos! Kudos to Best of Switzerland tours for this well-managed day tour! I highly recommend it.

Elisabeth was a phenomenal guide today for our trip from Zurich to Rheine Falls and Stein Am Rhein. She was pleasant, patient, and shared information in an interesting and easy to understand way. Erik drove smoothly and kept us safe and sound.
If you’re in the Zurich area I hope you get this pair on your tour!

The guide was very knowledgeable. There was some walking involved. The points of interest were historical, the buildings were impressive. We visited the Wealthiest Neighborhood , Shopping District , Lake Zurich, . Beautiful Scenery . There is an elevator down to the falls but then the walk down is very steep. The walk down to the boat and afterwards the walk back up would be difficult for the aged

The morning introduction to Zurich was perfect, a good way to get my bearings and figure out what I wanted to do on my own. Wanda did a good job with just enough info about the city.

This was 2 half day tours combined into one, so we had to leave the main station and then return to the station for the second half.
Zurich morning tour was covered by Peter - good guide providing all the required details. Since I had gone to couple other tours which also started from the same train station, some of the information was repetition. What I expected to be different was more coverage and focus on Zurich itself. Somehow most of the informational coverage was the same at the intro level. There were a couple short stops in the middle for pictures, but I expected a few more picturesque spots. I thought they could have also added some time for old Zurich. We did stop along the river and take some snaps along the church. This was mostly accessible except for the short stops, cause there wasn't enough time to get on and off.
The afternoon tour was covered by Urs, who gave a good idea of the itinerary and also allowed the group to buy the optional boating tour tickets in advance. Would have been good if they had mentioned that the option would be there since I wasn't carrying cash and was hoping to pay by card. But it was a good time saver for the other folks who bought their tickets on the bus. Rhine falls was a pretty good location. there were spots to get really close to the water, but since the day was very sunny, it was hard to capture photos near water. Stein Am Rhein is maintained with its old charm - with pretty art work from its history. It also has a walk right next to river Rhine. I would have liked a bit more time to move around. Generally, in both tours, it would be nice to have some break time for snacks and eating as well, since tours are exhausting and you can only carry so much with you to eat. And eating on the buses is not allowed. The falls location is not accessible by wheels everywhere - some spots is exclusively by foot. And the old city has cobblestones, so that can make it hard too.

Rudolph was our guide for the Rhine Falls and Stein am Rhein. He was funny and very knowledgeable about everything Switzerland, from facts about the sights on the tour, to currency and engineering. Tour started on time and ended on time and was exactly as advertised. I recommend the tour, a relaxed day out. If possible, ask for Rudolph 😊

Did part of the city tour of Zurich this morning. The first stop only allows 10 mins. Was not feeling well and popped into restroom. Must have been 30 seconds late. Saw the bus driving away just as I stepped outside so I had to findy way back to the tour bus station for the Rhein Falls part of the tour. Aware about Swiss time but lack of good customer service in Switzerland is unexpected and happening far too often! Customer service training urgently needed or at least a friendly smile.

Dear PRsupporter
Our answer is overdue, and we are sorry for that. It had been overlooked due to our high season in August. We still like to take the chance to provide a feedback. Our tours do follow a schedule and punctuality is in general very important on all our tours. We do understand dough, that there can be incidents where guest might be delayed. In this case we have the rule that the guide calls the office to report the missing passenger and waits for a maximum of 5 minutes. If after the additional waiting time the guest has not returned to the bus and we were not able to locate him, the bus must leave. This is also important for all the other guests which are waiting inside the bus to continue the tour. We thank you for your understanding and hope you were able to enjoy second part of your tour package to the Rhine Falls in the afternoon. With best regards
