Baba was a wonderful guide. Rarely have I seen such enthusiasm in a city guide. Her knowledge of the city is virtually encyclopaedic! Her English is excellent, and in a mixed group of 20 English and German speakers, she made sure that neither language group was left out. Her descriptions were at all times clear and audible, in spite of competition from building works on the Bahnhofstrasse and trams on the Limmatquai.
I have lived in the Zurich area for over 35 years, and I worked in Zurich City for ten, but I was curious to know more about the City. It the 2 hours of the tour I learned a lot more than I had ever imagined.
Definitely to be recommended for tourists and residents alike!

Tour was amazing!
We were amazed to get to know so much about the history of Zurich (and Switzerland!) in this tour. It goes way beyond just seeing the main city landmarks. We’ve also ended up visiting places we wouldn’t go by ourselves.
Our guide was great, very thoughtful and kind as well. You could see how passionate she is about history and her country. Also, it was really hot that day so she told us she would try to go through the shadow and walk slower, which she did and everyone could follow it.
Tour was in German/English.

I'd highly recommend an Old Town Walking Tour for any newcomer to Zurich. Samantha was our expert guide and met us early at the hotel to discuss our adventure, what we wanted to do and see & of course her suggestions. Samantha is enthusiastic and so knowledgeable of the history of Zurich and the surrounding area. Although this was not our first visit to Zurich, our last visit in 2019 was more of a self guided tour. We saw and learned so much more in just the few hours we spent traversing the old city with Samantha and she took us to secret little gems within the city that most do not get to see and experience. She not only taught us a lot of the history but tips on using public transportation and where to grab a nice meal. Time well spent.

This was a wonderful tour! Our guide Andrea was very friendly and knowledgeable about Zurich. She gave really informative facts that helped me understand the city a lot better. The tour is two hours in total which I think is more than enough time to explore. She took us to places I would not have found on my own. The best part was our treat of honey syrup that we received to put in our water from the local fountains. It was delicious! Definitely do this tour if you have just landed in Zurich and have no idea where to start.

This was a great walking tour to orient us with Zurich and more specifically the "Old Town". We were only in town for 1 day and we felt like we had learned quite a bit by the end of the tour. Our tour guide was excellent. My only recommendation would be to select a tour that is spoken only in your language. Ours did say that it was in German and English when we signed up and I was unsure how that would work. Our tour guide spoke in both languages which was very impressive but also was a little distracting.

The weather was perfect for this walking tour on that day. We started at the train station and ended at Fraumunster.
We went through some parts of Zurich that I wouldn't have known to go to otherwise. Our guide was very pleasant and very knowledgeable.

Day 1:
We reached Zurich from Paris through train at about 11:00 am.
Checked into our hotel by 12:30 and then went to go for 1.5 hours Zurich Lake cruise from Burkliplatz. We had taken Zurich card for the day and this trip was included in the card. After the lake cruise we went for Cable car ride to LAF from Adliswil station. Both the activities turned out to be great and our 3 year old daughter enjoyed a lot too.
Day 2:
We went to Jungfrau. Took train from Zurich to Bern-Interlaken-Grindelwald-Kleine Schidegg-Jungfrau and came back from the side of Lauterbrunnen. Some people had adviced us against this trip due to long train journeys, but since we were visiting Switzerland for the first time, it was a good opportunity to see the sceneries from the different trains. There's nothing much to do at Jungfrau just see the views that takes about 10 minutes. Personally, I feel that the trip is extremely over-priced (even after getting swiss pass discount). The ice palace is quite lame with a few old ice sculptures and over crowded, so you can't even take a few good snaps. The food is expensive too (of course). The sight of the glaciar is a good one though. I felt somewhat lightheaded and dizzy while I was at the top and my husband felt the same, so had to take some rest and do deep breathing.
Day 3:
We went to Rhine water falls. Took train from Zurich HB to Schloss Laufen. The falls are not high at all, but still worth visiting. The views are good, and we walked around the falls and along the river to reach the Neuhaussen station to catch the train back to Zurich (with a change at Winterthur). We did not do the boat trip in the river as we did not want to get wet. The walk along the bridge and river to reach Neuhassen is great.
After reaching Zurich HB, we went to Uteliberg through train S10. Walked till Uto Kulm at Utelierg and let our daughter play at some of the swings there and went back to the hotel. The views from the top are good and you can see multiple layers of mountains and the tip of the Alps in the sky.
Day 4:
We went to Lucerne and Mt. Titlis. Took a train from Zurich HB to Lucerne and then to Engelberg for Titlis Rotair. Our daughter enjoyed this trip a lot, with multiple types of cable cars, ice flyer, more activities, and chance to play in the snow. We came down to Engelberg and then went on to Lucerne and spent the evening there, following the tourist walking route. Then went back to Zurich.
Day 5:
We were quite confused about what to do on this day as we wanted to let our daughter enjoy. So we went to Berne and took tram to reach GurtenBhan from where we took furnicualr to reach Gurten. There are many games and small train for kids. My daughter had great fun there and didn't want to come back. It's a good place for little kids. We walked in the park, ate apples from the apple trees, and then came down and strolled through Berne old town till the Bear park. We had thought of going to Interlaken too on this day, but since we spent a lot more time at Gurten, we dropped that idea.
Day 6:
We checked out of the hotel and deposited our big suitcase at Zurich HB for 10 CHF and then did the Zurich old town walk with the tourist map. Followed Limmatquai till Burkliplatz and then came back through Bhanofstrasse. Then we took our train back to Paris at 3:00 pm.

Switzerland is a great place. Totally accessible and super efficient local transport system. We didn't get tired on any of the days as we got ample rests during the train travels. We took the Swiss Pass for the middle four days and Zurich card for the first day.
Food is extremely expensive everywhere, so to save some money, we bought drinks, sandwiches and salads from Coop every morning and took along with us. Where ever we went, we bought one hot snack and coffee and had it along with our packed lunch. This way we could spend more on having dinner!

Hello All, I went to Black Forest today the 19th of July 2013 in a Tour operated by Zurich Tourism for CHF 76 (Approx INR 4,800/-). It was Amazing, the tour guide Anna and Driver Michele were absolutely helpful, clear english commentary throughout, We went at 12.40 in the afternoon and arrived back at 19.15. The Black forest comprises of Cuckoo clocks, Large Lake, Black Forest HAM and Cakes....Best place to be in Germany, while returning from Germany we went to Rhine Fall and took a Boat ride for CHF 8.00 which allows you to feel and touch the Fall. What a tour to remember. I recommend all to visit this place if you have extra day in Zurich.

This was my favorite thing in Zurich. We took a phenomenal walking tour with a lady (Philomena). Booked the tour from the Tourist Information. It cost CHF11 with a Zurich Card. It was well worth it!

It was Saturday, and there were many who signed up for tour, so they split the group into English speaking and German speaking groups. There were less than 15 people in our English speaking group.

Tour started from Train station....To Bahnhoftrasse...To where Fraumuster Abbey used to be....To oldest district in Zurich along Schipfe where you find local handicraft stores...to Lindenhof hill...cross the Limmat river on Rathaus Bridge...To homes of famous people...to Grossmuster Church.

We learned so much, titbits about Zurich and things that were not visible to us right off:
Eg: history of train station, who made that colorful lady hanging above the station and why, how Apple got its spot on Bahnhofstrasse, how the old town's apartments along Schipfe are rented out by the city to residents with low income, why the cobblestone walk way is called Schipfe, how shops on Limmat Quai (along river) used to be in the water like in Venice, what is Lindenhofhill sitting on, and old Legends of Charlemagne, what is in the good tasting water from the thousands of fountains in Zurich, about Zwingli's reformation...and more. Also found good restaurants and sausage stand in Zurich through this tour.

2hrs well spent! So much to see in Zurich and wish we had stayed longer.
