      Cool Tour!
What a great way to experience Lucerne and Mt. Pilatus! Taking the gondola and then cable car up to the summit was such a fun way to experience the journey up to Mt. Pilatus. We had plenty of time to explore the top (saw someone playing an Alphorn!) and then took the amazing cogwheel tram down to Lake Lucerne. We finished with avery relaxing and scenic boat cruise back into the city. Well worth the money in my opinion. Judith did a great job explaining where we were and interesting facts about the various modes of transportation. Thumbs up!

Views were great. This trip had it all. Gondola, mountain train, boat, views. Roberto and Angela were excellent guides. Funny and informative.

Although we were unable to go to the top of MTN Titles our experience was excellent 👌. Best of Switzerland was so professional keeping us informed of the change and what our options were, cancelling the trip, a partial refund, or to reschedule. I observed our your guide helping everyone with any concerns or questions we all had. He was kind, patient, and knowledgeable!!! We do not have control over weather issues and they did a phenomenal job making any necessary changes to keep everyone informed and updated as we went along! We appreciated it!!! FYI I chose a partial tour and recd my refund within 2 days!

      Worth it!
In September 2024, I had the pleasure of visiting Jungfraujoch with friends, and it was an experience I’ll never forget! Everything went so smoothly from start to finish, thanks to our exceptional guide, who was not only knowledgeable but also made sure we were all comfortable throughout the journey. The ascent to "The Top of Europe" is quite long, and while I consider myself fairly fit, I have to admit that the high altitude did affect me more than I expected. Thankfully, our guide was well-prepared and offered some helpful tips to manage it, which made a big difference. Even though the weather was cloudy and we didn’t get much of a view from the top, the atmosphere was still incredible. The journey itself, through tunnels and glaciers, was stunning, and the sheer scale of the experience was mind-blowing. I was particularly amazed by the Ice Palace – a must-see even if the weather isn't ideal. It truly felt like being on another planet! Despite the clouds, we still had an amazing time, and I can't wait to return one day when the weather might offer a clearer view. I highly recommend visiting Jungfraujoch if you're ever in Switzerland – it’s a must-do experience!

      Must do!
A day well spent. You have to meet at the city tours office at Shilquai. There's a tram stop for shilquai. Once you show your voucher you can join the tour. It starts at 1.15pm I reached by 12.45 to get good seats. Rhine Falls and stein am rhein are must do things when in Zurich. There's a 10 chf charge for the boat ride. Should do it. It's awesome. Our guide Monica and driver gorge were fantastic. She gave useful information and is very well spoken.

      Gracious Hosts
Our tour was changed due to windy weather on the top of the mountain. The company was so gracious and kind and allowed us to change our tour to visit Mt. Pilatus. It was a wonderful experience with great guides: Roberto and Angela. We enjoyed every minute of it.

      10/10 recommend!
The views were so amazing! Almost didn’t book it but so glad I did. My husband and I enjoyed every second of it! We saw so many sites that we normally wouldn’t have since we were only in Zurich for just a couple days.

It’s all about the tour guide
My wife and I toured both Rhine Falls and Stein am Rhein with Best of Switzerland tours. We learned very quickly and confirmed several times along the trip just how important a good tour guide is to the total experience. Francisca, was more interested in talking about her opinions on Swiss taxes, gov’t affairs, and other personal views as opposed to historical facts and figures. We found her approach in poor taste and at times eyebrow raising agreeing between us that we could not believe what she was saying. As soon as we walked up to enter the bus, she started to push that we needed to buy the boat excursion (at Rhine Falls) tickets from her for 10 CHF, and when the majority of the people on the tour were not quick to pull out their cash, she said things like “if you don’t go, I can’t go, and it’s my favorite part of the tour…”. We didn’t bring cash with us and she made clear that we could pull cash from the ATM at Rhine Falls. We did so and paid her. We then came to find out that tickets were only 5 CHF and we could have purchased them with a credit card. Francisca has found herself a little side hustle, interesting. We don’t appreciate being taken advantage of, and find it is super poor taste. Last interesting event was when she crawled over the ticket gate to get down to the falls viewing deck because “the ticket scanner takes too long to scan tickets” (which we all had to scan our tickets to gain access anyway). So she didn’t have her own ticket, awkwardly crawled over the gate in front of all of us, and then still waiting for us all to go through. I would find it hard to believe that this is normal behavior. I think it’s time for Francisca to hang up tour guide boots and find another side-gig. If she is the quality of tour guide you can expect, I would advise others to avoid Best of Switzerland tours when planning a trip.

      Great tour!
Great trip! I recommend doing the hike to the top of Mt Pilatus and taking some photos (wear comfortable shoes!) It was helpful to have someone to help show us around and have the tickets for us. The only improvement suggestion is that the boat ride is more of just a water taxi. I wish it was more of a tour with the tour guide teaching us about the area.

      Great weather! Great guide!
Very organized. Friendly staff even when herding cats, guests. Weather was great which helped tremendously! Bus to gondola, then 2nd gondola. Then huge tram to fit 55 people. Hiking trails were somewhat crowded but mostly easy hikes.

      Incredible experience at Jungfraujoch
Roberto is an absolutely incredible tour guide! His knowledge is nothing short of spectacular, and he goes above and beyond to ensure every detail is taken care of and every passenger feels looked after. The difference between him and Manuel is truly significant. While Manuel struggled with his English and didn’t seem confident, Roberto spoke clearly, with great confidence and fluency, making it easy to follow along. His expertise and passion for his work really shine through, making the entire experience unforgettable. If you’re looking for the best guide, Roberto is the one!

      Day trip to Jungfraujoch
Our tour guide today Sept. 21 st was exceptional. She looked out for everyone and was very knowledgeable. With so many people at the Jungfraujoch, she was able to direct us all to the best way to maneuver around.

The actual trip up the mountain on the cable car was great. Weather was not great (no views due to clouds) but we still enjoyed the experience. The problems were with Best of Switzerland Tours. We were on a full bus from Zurich to Lucerne with people going on the Mt. Titlis tour. We were let out in Lucerne with a return time to the bus. Returned and were told another hour would be required in Lucerne to wait for more people to arrive for Mt. Titlis tour. Bus pickup location was at least 15-30 minutes from sites which meant we wasted a hour walking to and from bus pickup. Tour guide was extremely rude and just kept saying if we weren’t at the bus we would be left behind. We were then dropped off at the cable car with return train tickets to Lucerne which we were aware of. However, when we ask the tour guide for details to the train station, she was again rude and told us to read the procedure. “I’m not your tour guide” was her reply. We were just grateful not to be still on the bus with her to spend the rest of the day. Just be aware that this is not a tour just for Mount Stanserhorn, you will required to wait for other tours impacting how much time you have for your tour.

Dear Tracie, Thank you very much for joining our partially guided tour to Stansernhorn and for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are truly sorry to hear that the tour and the tour guide's performance did not meet your expectations. To minimize our environmental impact, we operate shared buses for multiple destinations along the same route, reducing our carbon footprint by avoiding empty buses. These destinations are carefully planned along the route, and this setup does not interfere with the timing or schedule of your tour. As part of this approach, Lucerne is the first stop for all tours, including yours. Our meeting point is centrally located in Lucerne, less than 10 minutes from key attractions such as the Chapel Bridge and Jesuit Church. Our Stanserhorn tour finishes at Pier 3, which is a five-minute walk from our meeting point. We are sorry if the timing felt too long and impacted your tour experience. We are concerned to hear about your experience with your tour guide. We expect all our guides to be professional and provide clear and helpful information to our guests. We sincerely apologize if this was not the case during your tour, please be assured that we will address this issue directly with the guide to prevent any similar situations in the future. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the mountain and cable car experience despite the weather, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you on another tour. Best regards, Magdalena from Best of Switzerland Tours

I had purchased tickets for a day trip to Lucerne &Mount Stanserhorn including cable car .
Please read all the details of the trip before purchasing tickets , this trip is only partially guided.
We were informed on the way after a restroom stop that after we get dropped off at Stanserhorn we are on our own, no guide.

Dear Saminanana, Thank you very much for joining our Day Trip to Lucerne and Mount Stanserhorn tour and taking the time to write this review. We are very sorry to hear that our tour didn’t meet your expectations. As stated in Viator’s tour description, this tour is a partly guided tour. This means that our guests are only accompanied by the tour guide from Zurich to Stanserhorn and in the evening from Lucerne back to Zurich. The time in between is available for our guests to explore the destination at their own pace with the help of an informative booklet they receive in the morning during check-in. We regret that this information went unnoticed and thus you were not fully aware of the partly guided nature of the tour. Partly guided tours are ideal for those who prefer exploring destinations with more flexibility and freedom without having to follow a certain schedule. We are sorry to read that this wasn’t what you expected and regret that you didn’t address your concerns directly to your tour guide as there is always the possibility to upgrade the tour to Mt Titlis, which is fully guided. We hope that you were still able to enjoy a great stay in Switzerland and look forward to welcoming you on tour soon again. Best regards, Magdalena from Best of Switzerland Tours

This was a great day trip! There was so much to do and see in Lucerne during our downtown. We got to see the covered bridge, walk around the beautiful old town, and took a walk along the original wall when all the church bells were ringing. We also enjoyed the mountain trip. In the fall the clouds hang lower, so although this is not the highest mountain, we were able to see really great views on the looped trail behind the mountain. It was a cool experience to ride on the older rail car and stand on the open top cable car. Really enjoyed our day mixing some of the city and the Mountain View’s

This tour was very well organised and both Lucerne and Mount Stanserhorn were spectacular. Our tour guide Gallos was amazing and extremely knowledgeable. Not only were the views from the top of the mountain breathtaking but the open top cable car was a real highlight. Would strongly recommend this trip and would happily use this company again.

Overall, the trip was great. The stop in Lucerne was too short. We thought we would have time for a nice lunch in Lucerne before we went on to Stanserhorn. There was no time, we were able to pick up a sandwich in a local cafe to take away. Our guide was lackluster. We visited the Lion Monument. The guide brought us to the monument but did not share any history of it. Later, I googled it and learned a lot about the monument.
Stanserhorn was unbelievable and truly a postcard view of Switzerland. We were foruntate to have a picture perfect day. The funicular and cabrio was wonderful. There was too much time once you reached the top. Food is VERY expensive for fast food. Best to pack a picnic. All in all, too little time in Lucerne and no real tour. Stanserhorn was worth it.

I started at the white ticket office, was given a bus number to go to, reach the bus and am told wrong one, the guide goes and checks with the ticket office &says nvmd get on. Then I find out I am the only one taking the tour I purchased. The pamphlet I am given as high level instructions. We reach Lucerne are given 45mins to see the sights. We are told to meet the bus in Lucerne at 12:25p. I board the bus at 12:24p it is extremely hot. About half the passengers board & I ask the bus driver if it’s possible to get AC, he says no. The tour guide says he’ll drop me off in Straserhorn I will enjoy the sights on my own then he will pick me up back in Lucerne. We arrive in Stranserhorn, he then tells me he will not pick me up. I will need to locate a different bus & a different tour guide.
I would have been fine if this was all written down but I was only given the varying instructions verbally. After reaching Lucerne I said forget it, I bought a separate train ticket back to Zurich. I took a tour in Salzburg & it was 100 times better organized. Don’t book this tour!!! You can visit on your own. Take a train from Zurich to Lucerne, sightsee. Take the train to Straserhorn, take the cable car ride then take a train back directly to Zurich. No stress and you manage your time (much cheaper)

Dear visitor We are very sorry to read that we were not able to meet your (and our) expectations on quality! We do recognize that the organization was not good that particular day and there must have been some confusion by “assigning” you the tour bus. The tour to “Stanserhorn” is “partly guided” so it’ correct that you received detailed, written information for the unguided part. The journey takes you first on a scenic route to Lucerne meanwhile the tour guide comments on history and customs of Switzerland. After your leisure time, the Stanserhorn guests are dropped of at the valley station from where the ascent and descent and the way back to Lucerne by public train are unguided. In Lucerne you are picked up by your guide again for the direct ride back to Zürich. It seems that there was a confusion and you were placed in the wrong bus. It’s not a “problem” as Stanserhorn is “on route” to Mt. Titlis. In the evening the bus you were placed in the morning returned directly to Zürich without stopping in Lucerne. That’s why you were asked to join the other tour bus who was picking up the rest of the Stanserhorn guests in Lucerne. Secondly, you write about the AC. The answer of the driver was correct, but it is not because he didn’t want to turn it of but due to a very strict law to protect the environment we have in Switzerland which prohibits to have motors running meanwhile guests are boarding/waiting to depart. We know that this is an uncomfortable situation for the guest in hot summer days. Unfortunately, the AC only works if the motor is on and fines are high if the law is not respected. It is correct that this destination can also be visited by public transport, we just would like to point out the it is not cheaper than our excursion and you would need to change trains in Lucerne on the way back also. Finally, we do have a reservation for the ascent/descent and in busy days this is an enormous advantage as sometimes waiting time can be up to two hours for “walk ins”. As mentioned prior we recognize that the quality of the tour due to assignment of the wrong bus is not meeting our quality standards and we apologize for this mistake. If you are still in our country, please send us an e-mail to info@switzerland-tours.ch with your original reservation as we like to compensate you with a free “Best of Zürich” city-tour or an excursion to the Rhine Falls. We hope you still have great memories about beautiful Central Switzerland and remain at your disposal for any further comments. With best regards

This is a great tour, its partly guided which i knew. Check in was easy, point of meeting was easy to find (near main station), the bus was comfortable, the tour guide was very knowledgeable, attentive and super friendly. She gave us all tickets and details as to how to make it to the top of the mountain and return to Zurich. Totally recommend it.

We started off from Sihlquai Coach Parking, which is just across the Zurich Main Train station. We left 10 minutes later since we had to wait for a couple of visitors. It took us a little over an hour to get to Lucerne. We had a quick stop to see the lion sculpture. It was a Sunday so all the shops were closed. However there were still a ton of tourists. We had an hour to explore the city which I think was a good amount of time. We grabbed a quick lunch and were able to take a lot of pictures around the Charles Bridge. We then met up with the tour bus at the appointed time and headed to the town of Stans. Where we took a funicular then the CabriO up to Stanserhorn. It was a cloudy day, so when we were on the CabriO, and broke through the cloud cover it was an amazing sight! A sea of clouds with the mountain peaks jutting out. Once we got to the Stanserhorn it was just beautiful, I can’t describe it, you just need to make the trip. We spent around 2hours since we had to wait for our scheduled time to return. We walked up to the peak then headed back to the main area to have some coffee and cake. Once we got back down we took a 20 min train ride back to Lucerne. Where we were able to speak another 1.5hrs going around the city before we met up with the bus back to Zurich. The trip back was a little over an hour. It was overall a great day trip and I would definitely do it again.
