Overall, good tour to take. For Black Forest, we thought we would be walking in the Forest, but it was a tour of a town in Black Forest. So, that was slightly different than our expectation. But the German city was beautiful and it was the worth the visit. And we can see the Black Forest from the city. Tour gave you enough time to sit down and have a coffee or desert in many of outside cafés to enjoy the view and weather. One warning, some spots don’t accept credit cards. We waste ~15-20 min trying to get the cash from ATM, which kind of ruined our experience. The 2nd stop, Rhine Fall, was amazing!! Take the boat tour (~15 min). Our driver took closer to the fall (everyone got wet a bit), which was great!!! They however, need to start this little early. All the shops in the waterfall areas were closed, so just walking around the area is all we could do.

We enjoyed the scenic tour. We stopped at a sweet little town in the Black Forest for an authentic German lunch & great souvenir shopping. It is a fair amount of walking from the bus to the village. Some steep inclines. The cuckoo clock demonstration was ho-hum really, rushed. The Rhine Falls is something to behold! So powerful! We did not do the boat ride; we walked all the way around the falls to some overlooks that are very close to the falls. Beautiful pictures. Again, not entirely handicapped accessible, a fair bit of walking.

We left Zurich around 12.30 and reached Black forest after few hours. Black forest village and the lake was really nice. Then we reached Rhine Falls, where we spent around half an hour.
Over all the places were valuable. But the tour guide we had was bit rude. She was hurrying everyone to go back to bus like a school teacher. We had very limited time to enjoy Rhine Falls. Basically the satisfaction of this tour depends on what you expect from it... my suggestion, if you are searching for an adventurous interesting tour...this is not the tour you need.. but if your purpose is just to cover Germany and Rhine Falls in few hours this tour is good.

Traveled from the United States to Switzerland for the first time. Planned this particular tour in Zürich ahead of time. This tour took us to Germany to view the cuckoo clock manufacturing facility, and then to the Rhein Falls in the Black Forrest. Suzanne was our guide, and Armando our bus driver. The time allotted for the trip was perfect, and we stayed right on schedule with ample time to view the areas we visited. Suzanne was an amazing guide with lots of information all along the way. Each piece of information was very interesting and applicable. This was the best tour I have ever been on. We visited a cuckoo clock manufacturing facility, and the details given by the crafters was very impressive. Of course we ended up buying a cuckoo clock and having it shipped home. Afterword we went to the Rhein Falls which were absolutely stunning and we had plenty of time to view everything we wanted and have lunch. I would highly recommend tours with the gray line, and I will tell my friends to check them out if they come to Switzerland. I would give 10 stars.

Great experience and was as advertised. The coach was really nice, clean. Beautiful drive up into the black Forrest of Germany. We were in Titisee for maybe 2 hours, just enough time for lunch and a walk thru town. We elected to pay 8 franc for the boat ride at Rhine falls and really enjoyed ourselves. If your looking for a casual excursion this is a good one

The trip is advertised as a trip to the black forest and the Rhine falls. The black forest part of it is a glorified tourist trap. The tour guide continuously advertised multiple shops where they most likely receive kickbacks. Watch shops, restaurants, cuckoo clock makers, leather goods, LUGGAGE. The majority of the trip is spent shopping in this scam disguised as a black forest excursion. The ability to walk in the forest? Laughable. They give the option to walk out of the town and into the forest, but that's completely unfeasible with no tour guide guidance. She literally said "does anyone want to go in a picnic and eat with the squirrels? I didn't think so." and completely glossed over it. The tour was maybe 6 and a half hours-ish. 2 of those hours were spent in that town and 45 minutes on the Rhine. The rest was spent driving. Waste of money and more importantly vacation time.

This tour, at best, is a comfy, overpriced ride to two tourist attractions- only one of them worth going to. The “tour guide” tells you nothing about what you’re passing and only spends a couple sentences on the actual destinations. If you need a nap to recover from jetlag, this tour is for you. The first part of the tour takes you tp a glorified outdoor tourist mall where the tour guide spends 10mins talking about the shops and what they sell (nothing local and every brand that can be find where ever you’re visiting from), with a view of the Black Forest. She said, in passing before we got off the bus, “oh and if you want to go into the forest, ask me and I’ll show you where to go”. So you pay about $80 for a ride to a self guided tour. While at the Black Forest Tourist Sinkhole, you “learn” about cuckoo clocks...by hearing a sales pitch in a store and literally see nothing about how theyre made or the history. After that, you go back on the bus to nearly 2 hours of silence to Rheinfall where you’re charged more for the boat ride on the bus than advertised at the actual place (maybe they include their own tip?). You’re rushed onto the boat after being instructed not tp stop for the restroom or photos, told to mention their names if you want souvenirs so they can get a credit for it, and then taken on another tour without information. I still don’t understand why they call the falls the “highlight” of the tour when it is not even included in the price. Total tourist scam.

I purchased the "Black Forest, Lake Titisee & Rhine Falls Excursion" by Gray Line Zurich, given by Meier tours under contract. We completed the trip yesterday, and I'm extremely disappointed. The tour was a best, a blatant excuse to exploit tourists, and at worst an outright scam.

First, the tour guide added very few facts to offer, talking ~5 minutes at a time at the very beginning and before each stop. The vast majority of the time was spend in silence.

Next, the tour doesn't actually go to the black forest. You drive past it, and stop near a lake in Titisee at what can best be described as an outdoor mall. The tour guide made a comment how she could offer directions on how we could walk, alone out to the edge of the forest. One of the very few facts the tour guide did mention was that the black forest was so named because of how dense it is, something we naturally had hoped to see, and the reason we took a guided tour was to show that to us. My wife is seven months pregnant so there is no way we are going for a long walk alone into the forest.

What the tour guide did spend a significant amount of time talking about was the goods available at Drubba shopping. Watches, jewelry, clocks, etc. It was clear there was some sort of agreement between this retail company and the trip as she provided us a "history of Cuckoo Clocks" facts sheet which was 1/3rd a sales pitch for this company, as well as a VAT tax exemption card good if we spend enough money at this company, then walked the entire group to one of their shops for a long sales pitch on the clocks they were selling. We had hoped that the Cuckoo Clock portion of the tour would at least be held somewhere the clocks were manufactured. Instead it was just a souvenir store selling overpriced trinkets and the same clocks available in a dozen other stores within a quarter mile and all manufactured somewhere else.

Next we went to the Rhine Falls. This is the only actually interesting thing we saw on the trip. Alas here this goes from abusing tourists to outright scam. The boat trip to the falls isn't included in the price of the trip, but is described as "the highlight of the tour" during the tour guide's heavy sales pitch for us to purchase the boat trip from her for 8 CHF. I purchased this trip through Expedia who explicitly calls out bringing spending cash in Euros, not CHF. Annoying, but she took 8 Euros instead, which just made it a bit more expensive. Then we took a 15 minute boat trip, which is arguably the worst option, as a ferry across the water for 3 CHF would let you walk much closer to the falls, and the 30 minute tour for 20 CHF lets you get off in the middle of the falls. But worst of all, the published price at the walk up kiosk for the exact 15 minute tour we took was 7 CHF. 1 CHF might not be a huge price difference, but I don't usually anticipate to spend all of this money on a tour for the opportunity to pay an additional premium. And of course once the boat ride ended, the tour guide directed us towards the souvenir stand with a recommendation to say that she sent us.

Overall, the only thing this trip offers is an uncomfortable bus ride to one tourist trap and one actual attraction. Rhine Falls can be reached by a direct train from Zurich Central for significantly less than this trip. I wish I had taken just that.

Expedia and Gray Line should be embarrassed for selling this tour, and Meier tours who actually gives it under contract with Gray Line should re-evaluate what value they think they actually provide. I will be asking Expedia for a refund.

We have booked this trip. It was good experience but guide was not attentive while doing his job. Due to that we were not able to completely experience rhine falls. He was in hurry and we were having our infant with us but he was not cooperative. He almost ruined our trip because he took boat to rhine falls without us. Anyhow we able to manage it. But it’s waste of money for us

I would say please check same trip with another company who are having good and responsible guide
