About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- yodakat0 contributionsTerrible experience, not a tour,We booked this "tour" via Viator for about $100 per person. My family has taken several food tours in a variety of cities, and it is something we typically enjoy. The directions we received said to come to a hotel and gave the address. We went there and waited in the lobby. When the start time passed, we were worried and tried to reach out to the organizer (kitchen around) via the Viator platform but no answer. We then went to the front desk of the hotel, and they directed us to the restaurant in the hotel. We thought that we would meet our tour guide and group there, but it turns out there is no guide. Basically, you go to the restaurant, and they tell you what restaurant you should go to next. At each place they feed you an appetizer and a drink. The food at the first place was overcooked meatballs, a dish of olives and 1/2 spring roll per person. At the second restaurant it was a Greek appetizer plate with hummus, falafel, tzatziki sauce and some nan bread. The third stop was a flat bread with bacon and walnuts and the fourth was a small piece of baclava. The food was OK but not great, small portions and definitely NOT worth $100 per person, probably not even half that. The last stop was a 3/4 mile walk up hill on a road with no sidewalks. We used google maps to find our way between the restaurants since we were given no information from the organizers. Overall, this was a complete waste of money and not a tour at all. You could just take yourself to 4 restaurants/lounges and order an appetizer at each place for the same experience, less money and probably more interesting food.Written August 8, 2023

- PEPE2014790 contributionsBad experienceWe tried it. But tickets showed at the designated location no one was there. Try to get in contact with the organizers no one picked up. We bought via Orbitz and they try to contact the organizers and they acknowledge they couldn't get in contact. As of now we haven't manage to get in contact with the organizers and it seems we have lost our money. So will not recommend it unless you want to probably lose your money.Written November 26, 2021

For foodies or non-foodies this was a great experience. My wife, 2 kids and I tried this when we had an open afternoon. We were totally surprised. We got an opportunity to meet the chefs of the best restaurants in Zermatt/Switzerland inside their kitchens. Then watch them prepare the food in front of you and then eat and drink at the chefs table while they work. Amazing experience. Had an appetizer at the first restaurant, sampler platter at second, protein at the third (including a full kitchen tour) and desert at the last (the chefs were a comedy duo).

In the first two restaurants we were greeted very warmly, we were shown the restaurant/hotel and told a little about it. They always asked us if the planned meal was OK for us and offered us alternatives. We felt particularly comfortable at the second stop in a very nice hotel with great food and a super friendly chef who looked after us. The third stop (in one of the most praised hotels in Zermatt) was unfortunately disappointing. We did not feel welcome by the member of staff assigned to us, we were immediately seated in the kitchen corner, nothing was explained, and then we were carelessly served a tiramisu for dessert. Then they waited for us to leave. It was somewhat saved by a very friendly young chef who came to our table briefly and had a nice chat. You can't get any real cooking ideas or look into the pots anywhere. You stand or sit at a small table in the kitchen. The food and drinks we received plus a short taxi ride are in no relation to the price, even taking into account the organizational costs.
