I purchase my ticket directly on the spot at the Falconeria ticket counter. There are two shows daily: 11am and 3pm so be sure to plan your travel to the Falconeria accordingly. The falconers only speak in Italian and German. If you would like English, you can scan the QR Code at the ticket counter to access the website to hear English recordings. However, it is quite hard to click on the audio for the right birds that are presented as they are not in sequence. You get a very close view of the birds flying around, they basically swoop past above our heads at near distance.

Kids of all ages will love this place even if you don't understand the language you will understand what's happening and they do offer a English online listening program

Waste of money! 89chf for a family of 5 and then everything fun is extra - want to feed the fish, picture with an owl or ride a pony for 30 seconds all cost extra money! Show was boring, birds looked trapped in there cages, playground was non existent. Avoid at all costs!

Last summer I took my four grandkids for a truly wonderful day out to see these magnificent birds fly so close over our heads. It was brilliant, the staff were good and very helpful and this year I am taking a group from a club for the experience too! Well worth it.

It's a interesting show and the different birds are well explained. It is possible to visit also the birds that are not in the show.

Great show with direct contact to the big birds. Easy to reach by foot or public transport. Very good in condition.

Locarno's falconaria is 10 minutes by taxi from the promenade. I have been to many zoos across the globe but this was the first time to see a falconaria. We saw many types of big birds, falcons, eagles, owls vultures and many more. The amazing part was the one hour show, a great experience, how these vultures are trained and controlled; I enjoyed it despite the Italian narration which I didn't understand. It's recommended visit for the whole family; the visit won't take more than 2 hours if you know when is the time if the show.

Fantastic show with a wonderful combination of free raptors and the people who train, show and care for them. The birds fly closer to the audience than one would believe possible creating interaction with the audience. It's thrilling to watch and feel the wind of their wings as they fly over and around the audience, their perches and cages. It's easy to forget to take photos as you lose yourself in the moment of watching them fly, flip baskets on the ground, stomp snakes to death (fake-rubber) and catch prey on the fly. This is not scary for children as the trainers wow them with their skills and commentary including funny things about the birds We took 2 children (4&6 yrs) that had no previous contact with birds, they watched enthralled, loved the bird on the hat and now want to be a bird trainer when they grow up. I can easily say this is the best bird show due to the amazing range of trained birds and the pace of the whole show. It's so encouraging to know there are people with the care, time to work with these birds and provide information and education.

We didn’t expect much at all and were dreading sitting in the near-zero temperatures... But as soon as the show began we were entranced start to finish. The heated seat pads were a thoughtful extra!

Allow yourself to be moved by the fascinating world of the birds, in a nice environnment, flight of eagles, owls, falcons etc. great demonstrations, the Locarno Falconery offers a lot of recreation, fun, and leaning about the biology of the world of this animals. nice park around.

The staff at my hotel had suggested it would be worth visiting, and they were absolutely right. One starts with a visit to the aviaries, noticing immediately the wide variety of birds of prey from all over the world, all visibly being kept with extreme care and attention. On each aviary, detailed explanations in four languages (Italian, German, French and English) about the birds inside. But the moment when the visit to La Falconiera Locarno becomes exceptional is the falconeering show. Done twice a day, lasting about an hour, im Italian and German (with French and English audio versions), the visitors are introduced to a very large number of birds of prey (falcons, hawks, ibis, marabus, owls, and even a true and true American bald eagle), getting closer to the audience than one would believe possible. All accompanied by a detailed explanation about the individual birds stars of the show. Rather than simply sitting and watching, the staff makes the show very interactive for the visitors, and are happy to assist with questions and information afterwards. A truly recommended place to visit!

Great selection of birds of prey, well-produced show, and impressive experience for young and old alike! I highly recommend seeing one of the shows. Booking online was super easy. Seeing these birds in a habitat (living area) is one thing, but seeing them fly, often right over your head, is awe-inspiring. During the show, language could be a challenge if you don't speak Italian or German, but wouldn't detract from the experience. As with most things in Switzerland, one hears the staff assisting people in multiple languages, including English, so getting around wouldn't be a problem. The info display in front of each bird's habitat also includes English, and that is much of the info shared during the show. The rest can be figured out in context of what's happening in the moment, or just simply lose yourself in the moment of watching them fly!

The main thing is the birds show (at 11:00 and 15:00). Some things worth mentioning: 1. We got stung by mosquitoes. Take the proper measures. 2. There is a little playground to pass the time after/before the show. 3. There is a small restaurant that serves sausages, hamburgers, pizzas, etc. 4. There is parking for free for the Falconeria's guests. It's behind the falconeria (a map of explanation is painted on the wall near the entrance). 5. There are great photo-ops during the show. Bring your good cameras

I do a lot of bird photography around the world. This is one of the best bird show's I have ever seen I sat in the middle of the grand stands and got good images of birds in flight. Wonderful for children. Nice bistro on grounds as well.

I was positively surprised by the show. It is not as lame and unspectacular like animal shows for example in the kinderzoo rapperswil. The sound is good, one gets lot of information, sees the birds very close and might even have the chance to have one landed on its head (only if worn a hat). For 10 Swiss Francs you can hold an owl on your hand including a picture. For one Franc, or was it two (!?), kids can ride the horse. The rest of the place, if you walk around, is less spectacular and some spots seem abandoned. The bamboo path is beautiful though.
