The full day tour of Lucerne and it's its surrounding area conducted by Chris was absolutely the highlight of my wife's and my (along with my brother's and his wife's) 2-week European vacation in late November/early December. Chris was an amazing tour guide and quickly came up with suggestions for the rainy day and had a van to drive us instead of only walking in the rain. Then after the rain stopped, we were able to do our walking tour and still hit all the main sites in Lucerne along with hitting the chocolate factory and making a giant chocolate bar. Was a great day and we felt like we learned a lot about Lucerne and what other activities we should do. Chris was a lots of fun and very knowledgeable.

We really appreciated and enjoyed the experiences provided by Chris on our Sunday visit to Lucerne. He picked us up at the door to our hotel and the day was full of new experiences. My sister and I and our husbands arrived for a post cruise extension on a Sunday which isn't the best time for touring in general(because of closures). Chris found the sites that were open and we really enjoyed them, we were able to take the train(with Chris) above the clouds on Mt Rigi. The view was a beautiful as promised. We had fog and overcast on the Lake and warm sunshine above the clouds. The beauty in Switzerland is stunning. We will be back! Another favorite stop after Mt Rigi was to the Aeschbach Chocolate factory. We each made our own chocolate bars and it was loads of fun. My grandkids will enjoy eating the chocolate too!

I found Chris through extensive online research looking for a private guide for a day exploring the Berner Oberland region. We had planned to do some sightseeing on our own utilizing trains and cable cars but we wanted a day of driving around the area to experience some other interesting places. Upon contacting Chris he immediately responded with a suggestion of a video chat to introduce himself and discuss our interests and itinerary. I had a specific bucket list item for an authentic alpine descent parade. Chris made some inquiries and confirmed. He picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the village for the festival. It really was the highlight of our Switzerland trip. He also introduced us to some of the locals who chatted with us and gave us great insights to this time honored tradition. After the cow parade he drove us nearby to a cheese factory tour, Lake Brienz and Giessbach falls and grand hotel. Chris is very personable with a great sense of humor and always checking in to make sure everything is going to your satisfaction. We traveled with three generations of women: grandmother, mother, and daughters (aged 20 and 23). Due to the diverse age span, we wanted a tour that accomplished the following: 1) Enabled us to engage with a local to learn about their life in Switzerland and who was relatable personality-wise to both young and old. 2) Transport us to hidden gems we could not easily reach on our own 3) Insider’s selection of Bernese Oberland’s greatest scenic hits to satisfy the young people’s desire to hike a bit while providing accessibility for the older generation. During our time in Switzerland, we did four different tours. Three of the four were exceptional and highly enjoyable. However, Chris’s tour ultimately edged out the stiff competition. Chris is very knowledgeable about Switzerland and was able to answer our questions about its culture, politics, infrastructure, etc. He’s professional and intelligent, but at the same time, he has a British sense of humor that keeps things light-hearted. He struck a good balance of being a bit cheeky but appropriate enough for Grandma’s approval. Thankfully, the weather cooperated, and his scenic selections were stunningly dramatic. While some of the waterfalls were not at total capacity due to the season, we still loved seeing the juxtaposition of the fall colors and turquoise glacial water. We had requested to eat at a restaurant that served fondue, and Chris selected a charming place that seemed to be full of locals and had a mountain chalet vibe above Lake Brienze. By the end of the day, we had visited Lake Lucerne, Hergiswil, Aareschluct, Giessbachfalle, Lake Brienze, Interlaken, and Lauterbrunnen. There were long enough walking aspects to suit the girls, but several times, Chris would run off and grab the van to pick us up to spare my mom from walking further than she could manage. Given the number of places we visited, Chris kept the pacing appropriately on track so that more time was allocated to more scenic locations and less time was allocated to spots that were interesting to see just briefly. Ultimately, Chris’s tour was a highly memorable and delightful finale to our Switzerland trip!

Chris did a great job navigating and suggesting a wonderful tour when the weather was less than wonderful. The views were amazing, the town of Lucerne was beautiful and Chris set a timetable that was manageable by 4 70+ people, one with a handicap. He was so personable that I felt like he was a friend instead of a tour guide. TST is the best!
