- nickeI2184WL0 contributionsLoved Our Lucerne Tour with Luís!My wife and I went on this tour with Luís and it was our favorite tour during our entire vacation. Luís is so friendly, funny, and knowledgeable about Switzerland and Lucerne. He was constantly sharing stories and the history of the places we visited. We went to a chocolate factory, walked around much of Lucerne's historical streets with an incredible view overlooking the city, and finished with a boat ride for another perspective of the city and a gorgeous view of the mountains from the water. We would definitely go on another tour with him and highly recommend taking one of his tours!Written September 29, 2024
- tonyamJ9622RG0 contributionsWonderful excursion! Our guide was very knowledgeable and offered a lot of history about Lucerne and culture of the area, in addition to the wine and cheese tasting. When reading this tour, I found the description about the castle confusing. You will to an area near the edge of town (or away from tourist section), and take a large elevator up the mountain to the castle, which is now a hotel. There you’ll be able to hang out on the veranda and take beautiful photos of Lucerne. We happened to have a gorgeous sunny day. Given this, the activities, and great guide (Luz) we had a great time!Written September 19, 2024
- stevejQ4022ZZ0 contributionsGood city forThe city for was very good. The boat for was just okay. Partly because it was a cold day, but there's not really much to see on the boat. Just ride around and see the shoreline villages.Written September 13, 2024
- 398marteh0 contributionsAmazing! Had a really great time!Amazing experience. The guide was so friendly and helpful and taught us a lot about Lucerne. The wine and cheese tasting really topped the whole experience. I will recommend this to everone visiting Switzerland and Lucerne. 10/10!Written August 13, 2024
- gmegaffi0 contributionsMust do for first-timers!Isabella was amazing! It was a hot day, but the tour was perfect. I learned a lot about the city of Lucerne and took in the views from all different areas of the city. Would recommend to anyone for their first day in Lucerne.Written July 31, 2024
- Cosmopolitan5530250 contributionsThe Whole Package for a Wonderful TimeWe had such a wonderful experience. The guide was so informative, and using the walker talkie earpieces made such a big difference. The bikes were very well maintained. The views were breathtaking and we even stopped and bought a bottle a wine at one of the local vineyards. Highly recommend this adventure!!!Written July 19, 2024
- W1489FEmelissar0 contributionsIncredible Tour!Luis is a master storyteller and tour guide! We learned so much about Lucerne’s culture and history during our two hour walk. Luis’s outgoing personality engaged the group and made the walking tour fun and memorable. The boat ride around Lake Lucerne was a relaxing way to end the tour. I highly recommend this tour!Written July 16, 2024
- Anthony M0 contributionsExcellent tour.Excellent guide. Thoroughly enjoyed the walk through a very interesting area. Enjoyed the boat ride despite rain. Recommend the guide!Written July 8, 2024
- TravelLover220140 contributionsInformative, laid back, and fun!Laslo was a fantastic guide! The meeting point is the giant arch right outside the train station so it’s easy to find. The headphone provided made it really easy to hear everything that was said even in larger crowds. Laslo was SO knowledgeable and really funny! We had a great time learning and laughing. The stops were definitely the highlights along with some other smaller things too that help you get to know the city. He provided some really good recommendations for food and drinks too! We really enjoyed it and would highly recommend this tour and him as a guide! Note: For us, we did the tour at the designated start time and it was the full 2 hours. The boat part is not necessarily immediately afterward, as when you finish the walking tour, you have the option of catching the boat tour at any of the remaining scheduled times (from what I understand). That was really helpful because we had time to go grab a snack and explore some more on our own after we finished walking and then took the boat tour an hour or two later.Written July 6, 2024
- H9857JJchristinal0 contributionsSuper expensive for what you get.The guide Isabella was not good. It was super hard to understand anything she said and she just kept on walking without waiting for folks. She took us to the most uninteresting places. I don’t think she knew what she was talking about. I looked up the information about the lion monument and the date she mentioned was incorrect. When we stopped, she barely bothered to tell you what the place is about. We left the tour after an hour. It was pretty expensive for a pretty bad tour.Written June 16, 2024
- Mon5340 contributionsshort stay is enoughIt's a beautiful town, but you don't need to stay long. I'd recommend visiting small breweries, like Lucerner Bier, and a boat/catamaran cruise on the lake.Written May 28, 2024
- 907tomu0 contributionsDisappointingWe did this group tour on May 12. We asked for English speaking guide. We met at the Arch and discovered that we were the only ones signed up. Hmmmm. The tour guide said this was a private tour, but we knew better. Guess that should have been a sign. Our guide spoke English, as we had requested, but with a strong Russian accent that I could not understand. She also has a soft voice that does not carry more than a few feet. 98% of the time we had no idea what she was saying. I suspect also that she was not a native Luzerner. The facts she pointed out could have been discovered in a ten minute read of Wikipedia. An example of the important sights we discovered would be the corner building she pointed to and explained that it was an insurance company. Good to know! Maybe good for some, but it all depends on the guide to make it worthwhile.Written May 20, 2024

Luis was great! Our tour was for just me, my spouse and my mother-in-law. Luis was a pleasure on all fronts. His knowledge of Lucerne was deep and we learned a lot. I was the only one of us shooting photos, yet the others had a nice time as well. And I learned some nighttime photo skills that I had been wanting to learn for quite some time. He took us to some great spots. We really lucked out when the moon rose over Mt. Rigi when we were shooting from high above the city. Gorgeous! And my mother-in-law commented on how nice and personable Luis was, making the few hours spent together that much nicer.

Lucerne by Night Photo Tour is the best tour to get to know Lucerne. Luis is such professional, warm and thoughtful. I am glad he made suggestions to make our tour a little bit kore early to take advantage of the beautiful weather and the light. I also like how he gave “photography lesson” during our tour. I would gladly recommend new travelers to have this tour.

We had a wonderful evening seeing the sights of Lucerne with our knowledgeable tour guide Luis. Although we are amateur photographers, we captured some breathtaking photos of the old city. Luis taught us several helpful tips for taking iPhone photos, and we will remember this experience for years to come!
