About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 259ravs0 contributionsServices to mislead customers knowing the weather impacts their servicesThis is a business that is false advertising online and over the counter. They are purposely selling services to mislead customers knowing the weather impacts their services with a rehearsed statement when customers complain. We arrived at the counter of Grindelwald-First - Top of Adventure to purchase two tickets for the Adventure pack (unlimited gondola rides + 2 activities). Only to be told told their website is not up to date and this can no longer be purchased anymore. Furthmore, the activities are now sold separately at each of the stops and only 'they' (assuming the providers) know their availability when you get there. To add more insult, the Mountain Carts and Trottibikes are now sold as 'summer' activities and no longer available in the winter. However, on their website it clearly states this as being winter and summer activies with date periods provided. I then mentioned we would only be seeing the First Cliff Walk presented by Tissot for the view, due to the lack of activities available to be told "that's fine and you will need a return ticket" We purchased two adults tickets £114 for the gondola ride. We were told First Cliff Walk presented by Tissot was 'free' to see. We got on to the gondola for it to be surrounded by clouds and frost on the exterior of the glass, unable to see any of the panoramic views. We then arrived at the final stop (First) to see the First Cliff Walk presented by Tissot for its views. We were incredibly disappointed as the view was hidden in a white cloud/mist, where we were unable to see anything at an arms length. We then returned back to the counter, mentioned we were unhappy and provided pictures and videos as evidence. We mentioned we would like to return tomorrow (exchange) or if it's possible to be provided with a refund. We were given a rehearsed statement by two seperate individuals both saying "it's non-refundable, as we provide tickets to only the gondolas and we fulfilled those services". However, I explained that I purchased the tickets to see the view and mentioned this to the sales advisor as the counter before purchasing tickets for the First Walk. I also stated that these tickets should not have been sold to customers as its unfair, knowing you are aware the weather/cloud impacts the view. I was told "it is not our obligation to tell customers, and to view cameras online before purchasing" or looking at their tiny LCD in the counter office in the corner. They were incredibly unhelpful and I was told there is nothing they could do. This is a business that is false advertising online and over the counter. They are purposely selling services to mislead customers knowing the weather impacts their services with a rehearsed statement when customers complain. The Swiss Commission for Fairness needs to take a stand to support tourism and prevent companies like this from misleading tourists.Written January 11, 2025

- David G0 contributionsFun Five Hour Zürich TourThe city tour of Zurich included a short bus ride around the city to some great view points, a fun walking tour, boat ride and delicious tour of the Lindt Chocolate Factory. Five hours was enough to see everything and our tour guide, Sarinne, had gone to university in Zurich and knew the city well. Informative and fun.Written January 6, 2025
- kasiakash0 contributionsExcellent experience, we took the late tour and it was Worth every penny.Excellent tour would highly recommend this company for any tour in Switzerland. The buses are clean, the service is extremely professional. We didn't book online and bought tickets at the Zurich central station however I would recommend making a reservation they do get fully booked rather fast.Written January 5, 2025

- Carol74davison0 contributionsBetter than expected. Particularly if you chose a perfect weather day!Loved our tour. It was better than promised. The weather was perfect. The views spectacular. Xia, our guide, kept us on time and perfectly informed. Her love of the area was infectious. And her love of chocolate 😀. We had the most phenomenal trip. Would strongly recommend this excursion. Xia was fantastic!Written January 4, 2025
- bhawkllc0 contributionsLeave earlyIf you go here be sure to make lift reservations or you will be waiting two to three hours if you take the boat, which is a great boat ride, the reason for the 3 stars because of the wait not know until you get there. Then you have a very short time to get to the top then go to the next level down for more adventure things. The view from the top is awesome. Coming back and having to go back to Montruex you take the gondola down the mountain and walk about 1/2 mile to the bus. It is not very well marked to get to the bus stop. The bus you get on in the afternoon is very crowded. Not happy with the bus ride either, thus 3 stars. You must be on the first boat.Written January 4, 2025
- Trek395068011240 contributionsOverall great. Plan to be on a bus for 4-5 hours.Overall great experience. I would have loved a better description of what to expect. I would have packed differently. I was thinking it would be mostly a train ride with stops. A lot of time was spent on a bus and I was not expecting that. Also, the stops for lunch was short. Would have loved 30 minutes more in Interlaken. Had too much time at the final destination (Top of Europe). Guides were great.Written January 4, 2025
- dashab20250 contributionsOne of the coolest things I have ever doneThis excursion blew our minds! The views are impeccable. We are both scared of heights but still had a blast riding the 40 min lift up and down the mountain. So exciting being so high up. Don't miss the delicious restaurant - order the Kaizer Wiener. Sadly due to bad weather - the bridge was closed but we still got to go outside and look. Recommend dressing in layers and bringing hand warmers! We got our tickets on the Get Your Guide app.Written January 3, 2025
- HARRIET D0 contributionsAn exhilarating experience! The excursion to Mt Titlis was outstanding from start to finish. Our tour guide, Dario was very knowledgeable & explained how to navigate the tour on our ride up to Mt Titlis from Lucerne. The day that we visited was very windy so the chair lift was closed for safety purposes. Dario made sure we were able to maximize our experience. If you’re on the fence about this tour, stop contemplating it & BOOK THE TOUR! We had an amazing time.Written January 2, 2025
- smfrankie700 contributionsNot good in cold and rainy weather.Unfortunately it rained the entire time we were in the bus and near the falls. We couldn’t see outside. All in good humor. We found a pub and a lovely wine tasting to get out of the cold rain. Recommend not spending the time on the bus in cold and poor weather.Written January 2, 2025
- James S0 contributionsAmazing views in the winter!Very good day trip for my partner and I. Jungfraujoch was beautiful (we got there about an hour before a snow storm rolled in, we saw the views, got our pictures, then visibility went to 0). Ice palace was quite fun (bring good shoes!). -1 star only because of the price. Far too expensive for what was functionally no different than renting your own car and buying admission tickets to Jungfraujoch and the trains / cable car.Written January 2, 2025
- WillBernz0 contributionsGreat bang for your buckGreat opportunity to see Mt Titlis and participate in a few activities. Our tour guides were great (Maeve and Rolf), pickup was seamless. The coach was comfortable. The ride was roughly 45 minutes. Yhe tour company takes care of everything. One thing to note, you really can’t do all of the activities in the time allotted. So you will have to prioritize what you want to do we did the suspension bridge and ice flyer, but opted to eat instead of snow tubing. Sure, you can book all of this on your own and likely have more time but this was perfect. I would recommend if you want to get some snow time in without the hassle of research.Written January 2, 2025

Wont be forgetting this tour for a while.
Travel time was pretty good.
Tour guide was informative and friendly.
The stop in Interlaken was (I felt) a bit pointless as there was not much to do... especially if you were not interested in shopping for watches or chocolate! However the scenery was beautiful. I underatand that wr had to drop people off that were doing different activities.... the hour spent there was unnecessary.
The Alps were beautiful. The time spent there was just right. There were plenty of little sights and bits to see, so many amazing photo opportunities and a few different food choices.

My wife and I went on two tours in January 2025: Jungfroujoch and Rhine Falls.
Both tours were excellently led by Bruno and Monica, respectively.
The tours were well organised and allowed us to visit these amazing areas with no stress or hassle.
The tour guides were informative and provided great commentary on all aspects of the areas we saw, as well as general Swiss life.
We highly recommend booking either of these tours!

This was a great excursion. Pedro is very knowledgeable, but he's low-key and relaxed. His assistant, Monica, is awesome. We are an older couple who needed some extra assistance and a watchful eye, which Monica graciously provided. We enjoyed the entire trip, but we had significant altitude sickness at the facility at the top of the Alps, so we weren't able to fully appreciate it. I wonder if altitude sickness is more prevalent at older ages? If so, there should be a warning about it here.

The trip itself was great and worth taking but it was a very, very long day from Luzern. The outdoor temperature was over 80 degrees F or 27 degrees C and we went last week (early August). If you have trouble tolerating heat I would be concerned. On our trip back from the Eigercletscher there was no air conditioning in the train to Lauterbrunnen. Almost 1 hour. Then sadly the bus driver could not get the bus air conditioning working on the ride to Luzern. Another hour in bus sauna. The pictures were breathtaking and its a bucket list "to do" but maybe try seeing it a different way.

Dear W2290BNroberts,
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your fully guided tour to Jungfraujoch.
We are sorry to read that you found our tour to be long and that you encountered some issues with the air conditioning that hindered you from fully enjoying your experience.
Ascending to the Top of Europe is undeniably a considerable journey. The cable car station is 2.5 hours away by bus, and the ride by cable car and train to reach the summit is an additional hour. This is understandable considering that the Jungfraujoch is situated at an altitude of 3,400 meters and spans 7 kilometers of tunnels, navigating steep inclines along the way. While it would be possible to descend the same way, our scheduled descent is via Lauterbrunnen. This route provides unparalleled views of the majestic Swiss Alps and the valley, which is highly appreciated by our guests.
We sincerely regret that the air conditioning was not working during your train journey from Eigergletscher to Lauterbrunnen and on the bus back to Lucerne. We understand how challenging it can be to travel in the heat, especially during the summer. While technical issues can occasionally arise, we have not received any prior reports of a malfunction. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.
It is of course possible to visit Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe individually, however we find our rate quite fair considering that the group is being accompanied by an experienced guide who offers valuable insights, local knowledge, and historical context that enhance the overall understanding and enjoyment of the destination. Additionally, many guests appreciate our tour as a convenient and hassle-free way to get to Jungfraujoch.
Despite these inconveniences, we are glad to read that the trip was great and that you would recommend taking it. It is indeed a breathtaking location and a place on the bucket list of many tourists coming to visit Switzerland.
We thank you for your feedback and we wish you a wonderful rest of your stay in Switzerland and hope to welcome you again during your next visit.
Best regards,
Magdalena from Best of Switzerland Tours

Bus was prompt. Best seats filled by people who boarded in Zurich. So understand you probably won't get a seat up top. Beautiful scenery with good descriptions. We were fortunate to have a sunny day. Tram and cogwheel train were great. On the train down sit in the low seat section, left side for the best photos. A few young people (30/40 yr olds) in our group felt the effects of the altitude. Drink lots of water prior to the trip, it helps, also breathe deeply and pace yourself. Ice cave was interesting, loved the piano. Long day but worth doing.

Well organised and well done tour with great guides. We had more than enough time to see and do what we wanted and this made the tour very pleasant. Our guide, Eduardo, was fantastic. Friendly, polite, knowledgeable and made the tour a lot of fun.

I booked this tour 1 month in advance. On the scheduled tour, we waited but no representatives from the Best of Switzerland Tours came. I called their local office and they told me that there was an error made and that they have no record that there are tour participants coming from Lucerne. They refunded me and scheduled us to the Mt. Titlis tour in the same afternoon for free, to compensate us with the inconvenience. We traveled million miles and are never sure when and if we will ever come back, so you can never pay the missed opportunites. So for those who are booking this trip, please confirm with them that they got you on their list.

Dear Yvonne
Thank you very much for having taken your time to write us a review even if it's not a good one. We do care a lot about our customers experience and understand your frustration about the mistake happened on our side. We take the full responsibility and do not excuse. The mistake was human, made by one of my colleagues who registered your booking with departure from Zürich instead of Lucerne. We already had a serious talk with him, as there would had been ways to avoid it after noticing that you didn't join in Zürich. It was his last week of duty with us as he was about to leave. As mentioned, this of course is not an excuse but just an explanation. I'm truly sorry for this but I also believe we did our utmost after being aware of the mistake to make up for it by inviting you for free to join our tour to Mt. Titlis instead and refunding the full amount for the booked tour to Jungfraujoch. So on the end you joined with two persons to our Mt. Titlis tour worth CHF 159.- per person totally free of charge. We understand that you missed out your experience to Jungfraujoch, which you were probably dreaming for a long time, but we also believe that our offer of a free tour to Mt. Titlis where you had quite a similar experience up in the snow was a very fair offer. A mistake can happen always, we have to learn about it, avoid it in the future and make up for it the best way possible. I trust we did this and showed you our professionalism. We hope you had a good time on Mt. Titlis and have great memories of your stay! With best regards

The train ride up is fun. Once you get there it is super crowded. Many rude folks shoving you around to get in the front of the line.
The weather changed on us so all we saw was white. Also, be prepared to not feel great. At that height, many in our group felt sort of bad. Most of the things are inside so you don’t need to take super warm clothes, at least in June.
The ice palace was good. Bring good shoes it is slick. Also, the cold of the ice will go through deck shoes or Vans pretty quick.
You can go outside at a couple of places. It was fun to be in a blizzard for a few minutes. We threw snowballs and laughed for a bit. I did get winded with just a little effort.
Do layers and you should be fine. I did short sleeves though the whole thing. Be prepared for the crowds. People were everywhere packed in. I got tired of folks breaking in lines and shoving me. TAKE YOUR PATIENCE.

On the way to the main attraction jungfrau, we were told it was closed due to hurricane winds. The tour company immediately changed the itinerary to a lower mountain which was experiencing great weather. We saw jungfrau in the clouds, which means even it was open we would not have seen anything. Thus the day turned out great. In addition before we even returned to Lucerne the company had refunded half the tour price (without us even requesting it). Awesome customer service.

We were excited for this tour and the actual time spent at Jungfraujoch didnt disappoint, but overall it was a disjointed day. In hindsight I could have completely figured out this journey on my own with a Swiss train pass. The first stop was for shopping in Interlaken which seemed to be a waste of time.We then all get back on the bus and head to Grindelwald. From there the train journey begins. This is when it got frustrating, there were 52 people in our group, our guide seemed overwhelmed getting us all in the right places, and then everyone was so worried they would get left behind so it was a lot of people pushing to make sure they were first. Once we got to Jungfraujoch we got to explore on our own and it was nice. The actual tour organization was a pain.

Dear guest,
Thank you for joining us on our tour to Jungfraujoch and having reviewed your experience – good to hear that the visit of the Jungfraujoch lived up to its expectations. On the other hand we are very sorry to read that you were not impressed by the tour organisation.
Our tour programmes are pre-set and are catered to the needs of the common tourist visiting Switzerland. We try to include as many different aspects as possible, and simultaneously aim to maximise the time at the actual attraction, as this is within the interest of the majority of our guests. As Interlaken is conveniently located along the journey and is a popular destination for many guests, we include a short stop in the morning. This gives guests a break from the 2-hour journey (from Zürich) already behind them and a chance to grab a snack or a drink before proceeding. Others might use the time for shopping or sightseeing, which is cherished by many.
Our guides have the task on one hand to tell interesting facts along the journey, provide the necessary information about itinerary and meeting points, organise and handle the distribution of tickets and also to keep up the quality of the tour even with big groups. With larger groups and with guests from different cultural backgrounds being a tour leader can also be a challenging task. With the Jungfraujoch being on the bucket list of many people visiting Switzerland, it can be crowded at times and we are sorry that you felt rushed by other travellers. With the increasing number of visitors there is also lots of organisation coming from the Jungfrau railways to optimise those customer flows, for example when changing trains at Kleine Scheidegg, where our guide leads the way to the next train.
Of course, the journey can be done individually and the Swiss Pass makes it easily accessible by public transport. Having a tour guide with you, who serves as a facilitator and also as a direct contact person in case of occurring questions, however is a reason why many people opt for a guided tour instead of an individual visit. For those seeking alternative experiences a bit more off the beaten touristic track, we also offer some services as specially dedicated small-group tours with a maximum of 16 passengers – might be something for a next time.
We hope that you have had a good stay in Switzerland and remain with best regards.
