- Alemap880 contributionsMini bus tour of Geneva.A very knowledgeable English speaking guide which meant we learnt more than just researching ourselves. I do not think we saw all the places we expected to see - for example, the Russian Church or the flower clock, which was disappointing. Felt the tour was a little costly but being in a mini bus we were able to go more easily towards the Old Town. Also because the city is so small you can easily find your way by tram to many of the places. We were, however, pleased to have booked a tour before arriving.Written February 22, 2025
- E36mozza0 contributionsGreat day out worth every penny !Chamonix and Mont Blanc Day Trip from Geneva Geneva Great day out ! Worth every penny! Your guide was great cheers Chris 994226840 Our review on the day trip from begining to end . Chamonix and Mont Blanc Day Trip from Geneva (KTG104) - Chamonix GOLD To start the day we arrived a little earlier (8:15) then suggested (8:30) as I wanted to make sure we were in the right place with the details they provided- (Geneva Bus Station 1201 Geneva, Switzerland). I found the address didn't show directly where it was so I have provided a pin drop below for exactly where our bus was ! https://maps.app.goo.gl/kTR1bf46WvLURoTm8?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy The bus was very comfortable and almost felt new, it had a glass roof which was cool and unexpected the bus company was SWISSTOURS there office is directly opposite the bus station (Swisstours/Keytours). We left sharply at 8:36! However the bus wasn't full. I'm assuming due to the time of year it was a little quieter. Once we got going Chris (The Guide) introduced himself and Niall (the driver). He explained how the day would go and what we would see and do on the trip. Which was brilliant as it gave a clear picture of the day . We then traveled for around 1h20 minutes with some greats views to chamonix bus park, where we left the bus and walked towards the cable car station. Chris then explained that because we had really good weather he would allow us more time at the top to get the most out of it. We had from 10:00 till 14:00 to travel from the bottom to the top and back down which was plenty of time to see everything and even get some lunch in with an amazing view! (Check out the photos ). Once 14:00 came we rejoined as a group and walked over to the train station where we all including Chris heading up the mountain and he showed us all around the ice caves and then waited for us to make sure we all got back to the bottom on the train. At 17:00 we got on the bus at the train station where we headed back over to the chamonix bus station to pick up a few others who had booked different activities. At this point we had already spoken to Chris about getting a bus direct to the airport he said this was not a problem at all and took us off the bus and placed us on a different one where we rode it all the way to Geneva then the airport which was perfect timing for our evening flight ! We honestly couldn't have been more happy with the day we had and the service we were provided with! Thank you very much Chris !! And Swiss tours/key tours Hope to see you again soon George and CharlayneWritten February 16, 2025

- ashleysM1335ZA0 contributionsTour Company Great, TripAdvisor Booking NotFirst of all, TripAdvisor has this built terribly. The city tour starts at 11:30 am and the cheese and chocolate tour is at 1:30 pm. When booking, the website only gave me the option of 1:30pm tour start, so when my group arrived at 1:30 pm we found out we had already missed part of our tour. Thankfully, the staff at KeyTours-Swiss Tours was amazing and arranged for us to have our city tour the next day. Tripadvisor needs to fix how the booking is built as accommodations like my group received may not be possible at a busier time of year.Written February 2, 2025
- Adventurer6625030 contributionsA must do.David, our driver and guide was fabulous. He drove the coach safely up the mountain from Geneva providing information along the way. He stayed with the group along the Peak Walk and assisted all requests. It was magical at the Glacier and felt we were ontop of the world. Mulled wine up there was a lovely touch to warm up before heading back. It was an incredible experience and well worth the costWritten January 30, 2025

- B7732ZGrebeccas0 contributionsGreat experience!Very well organised tour whilst allowing you to have time on your own to explore. Bus left Geneva and the trip to Chamonix took about an hour. We walked to the cable cars and went to Mont Blanc. Unfortunately we had cloud and low visibility but it was still an amazing experience. Then back to Chamonix and on to the train to see the Glacier. Really impressive although there wasn’t much else to see here and the train was very busy. Coach driver returned us to Geneva, we were late returning due to traffic but he was a great and safe driver.Written January 20, 2025

Long day (just over 10 hours) but well worth it. We had a completely full coach to Chamonix (stunning resort town), which is not ideal for those at the end of the line as many families had to split up and sit with strangers. The bus ride is only 1.5 hours though and the ride through the alps is stunning. Once in Chamonix, the entire group packs into a gondola (I mean PACKS) and goes up halfway then into another gondola to the summit. If you are Claustrophobic, you may struggle with the gondola rides. At the top though, it is stunning with several platforms and levels to walk around and explore the scenery. It’s windy and icy up there. Wear good shoes and bring a jacket. Back down in the resort area, it was very warm so layering is recommended in summer months. After free time for lunch, we rode the train up to the glacier (once again, packed in tightly) and had the option to take a cable car to the ice cave (highly recommend), just know that once you leave the ice cave, it’s 177 steps back up to the cable car. After another hour, we packed back into the bus and made our way back to Geneva. Overall, very nice excursion.

Good morning, thank you very much for your review! Chamonix is the most visited mountain resort in france so it can feel a bit "packed". We try to ensure good experience with reserved cable car for exemple. We are glad you enjoyed the charming city of Chamonix !
Have a nice holiday

I had the privilege of visiting Mont Blanc in June 2024 as part of an educational tour with my daughter and it was truly one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. The itinerary was well-structured, allowing us to explore breathtaking views from the Aiguille du Midi cable car and the scenic mountain train to Mer de Glace.
Every moment was unforgettable—from the crisp mountain air to the stunning panoramic landscapes. The free time in Chamonix Village gave us a chance to have lunch at the Little Boxes Cafe while soaking in the charm of the area. Though the schedule was packed, it was well-paced, making the excursion both exciting and educational.

We had a great day trip to Chamonix from Geneva. The bus left right at 8:30am. The bus didn’t have a bathroom but the drive was short, around an hour. The plan for the day was a little confusing at first but became clear as we went along. Our guide (Chris I think) gave clear instructions about what to do and when and where to meet, and was careful to count the group and make sure we didn’t lose anyone. I’d recommend both the cable car and the train activities, or if you just do one do the cable car in the morning. The outing is expensive, we paid about $500 CF for both of us for the day trip, guide and both activities. Also had to buy our own lunch which was fine because we found an affordable and delicious middle eastern place in town. Recommended if you don’t mind paying for the convenience and having everything arranged for you. The weather was beautiful in mid August and we got incredible photos. Not too crowded, the activities have good crowd control.

I thought this would be a magical day unfortunately the weather was bad so the train trip was cancelled also the cable car was cancelled until after noon because of bad winds so when we eventually went up we did not have as much time
It was beautiful and breathtaking but thought we had far to much time in Chamonix and the guide just waffled on they should have a plan B for bad weather and the price of £197 was extortionate we were refunded £33 for train cancellation for two it would be much cheaper to arrange yourself, you can buy tickets online and arrange own travel , the coach going back was organised chaos
Would not recommend at all for the price please arrange yourself honestly it’s not difficult I wish we had would have saved loads

Dear guest,
Thank you for your feedback.
We’re sorry to hear that the weather impacted your experience, and we understand how that must have been disappointing. We aim to provide the best possible experience, but unfortunately, weather conditions can sometimes disrupt plans. We truly appreciate your patience.
We also understand your frustration with the time spent in Chamonix and the pace of the tour. We always strive to offer a balanced itinerary, but we’ll take your feedback into account to improve the overall experience.
We do offer alternatives in case of weather disruptions, and we regret that we couldn't provide a better plan B for your day. We also appreciate your comments about pricing and the organization of the return journey; we will review this to ensure we are offering the best value and smoother operations.
Thanks again for your feedback, and we hope you can still cherish the beautiful moments of the trip despite the challenges.
Best regards

Don’t recommend this company. We booked the Gold Tour, we had No guide with us, was given a map and had to find our own way. Booked 2 excursions and due to it being very busy could only do one and asked for a partly refund as we didn’t get to do the second one due to the time limit that they give you and was refused. We paid £357 and only got to see one tour. The first tour we couldn’t get out of it as they give you a time as to when you can get to leave due to the cable cars being on a schedule to bring people back down and because it was so busy we missed doing the second tour. The times are impossible to do if it's busy and this should be highlighted on when booking the trip. So I would recommend booking with another company if you want to do more than one tour on the same trip as they charge a lot and don’t care if you can do the whole tour if it’s not your fault. They need to address the timing of the tours as of when it’s busy it’s impossible to do both tours and they need to be reported for charging for tours when they know that they can’t be done in the time limit that they give you to do them.

Good morning, thank you for your review. We are sorry you felt fustrated. You booked an independant tour, not guided tour. You left at 10h30, with passes and all the explanations.
You have a reservation cabin so you skip long queues on your arrival. You also have itineraries explained in the office in the person, but also written in case you got confused. You had 2 options the cable car and the mountain train. You decided to stay longer up in the cable car than recommanded and you went for a lunch before going to the train which was closing at 5 pm. A tour includes activities with timings, if you decide to stay longer in one activities or take a long lunch, we have no hand on it. This tour is every day and we never had the complain that you could not have time to do both.

Went on this tour and booked the gold trip which was the 2 trips included. The first tour was really busy and was given a ticket on leaving the cable car going up with a number on it as to when you can get the cable car back down. So we couldn’t leave this trip any earlier so we had to wait our turn as to when we could leave. So, this meant that we didn’t get out in enough time to get to do the second trip. So as we spent nearly £400 and wasn’t happy about this so we contacted the company and told them that it was impossible to do both trips in the time limit that they give you and they had refused to give us a partial refund and stated that it wasn’t their issue. I understand that more people have experienced the same issue before and that they know about it if you read past reviews yet they are still selling this trip knowing that if it’s busy it can’t be done in the time limit. So they are mis- selling trips knowing that they can’t be done and so I wouldn’t recommend booking with this company if you want to do both trips in one day. I’m very disappointed with this company not taking the responsibility for their mis-selling trips that’s impossible to do and it’s wrong as people are paying a lot of money and not getting what they have paid for.
So if you are looking to do both day trips in one day I would book with another company, one who takes responsibility for what they are selling.

Good morning, thank you for your review. We are sorry you didnt' have time to do both activities: the cable car and the train. Before you leave you are given an itinery, the pass so you don't have to queue. We also have a cabin reservation to avoid the 3 hours queue. Following your email, you decided to stay longer than planned up in the cable car, then you had a lunch before taking the train. We have departure every day of the year, for more than 50 years and our customers have enough times to do both. If it was not doable, you would not sell it. If you decide to stay longer than planned, we cannot help then. There is a schedule to follow. We tried to contact Compagnie du mont blanc who is responsible for the pass explaining the situation, they stated cleary if you have multipass, it gives you enough time and there is no refund possible. We hope you still enjoyed Chamonix as it's a beautiful place. Best regards

Unfortunately due to the weather conditions on the day of our trip the cable car ride to Mont Blanc (with glass vantage point), train ride to ice caves were all cancelled. However, we were not aware of this until we arrived at Chamonix so spent alot of time waiting to see if the cable car ride and train would go ahead. I understand that the tour has no control over the weather however, we were advised if we did not use any of our tickets (for other cable car) we would be entitled to a full refund. On the bus journey back we were then advised that we would only be refunded for the tickets not used and would still be charged for the bus journey (approx 1 hr each way). This turned out to be the most expensive bus journey ever as we were only refunded £90 out of the total £290. Therefore, the bus journey cost £200 !
My advice would be to get a bus to Chamonix at a fraction of the price and then pay for each of the attractions weather permitting instead. This would cost a lot less than the expense of this trip.

Good morning , thank you for your review. we are sorry you feel disapointed. Chamonix Mont Blanc is indeed a mountain tour subjected to mountain weather.
As you experienced, before you arrive we never know what is going to happen, it can be open and close at any time. We do sensibilise you on this detail in the section before you book.
The transport might sounds expensive but Switzerland is a costly country, you cross and international boarder and two tolls on the highway. Even if the caves are closed, the train was open which is one of the highlights. We also do mention that if you get both activities, you get a multipass, cheaper than if you buy them separate, which means if it's used for one activity, it's not refundable. We also Chamonix Mont Blanc village is a must see and we hope you enjoyed it.
Best regards and have a nice holiday

We had booked the trip to Chamonix and Mont Blanc including the cable chair and the train to the Mer de glace, we were 79 people on the bus. When we were on the way up to Chamonix they told us that the day before they couldn’t go to Mont Blanc due to the strong wind and they thought today would be the same. When we arrived to Chamonix, obviously, the cable chair, and therefore the Mont Blanc, was closed. We stayed in a small town like Chamonix from 9:30 to 16:30, with nothing more than a 15minute tour.
They don’t say anything about the possibility of more than half of the trip being cancelled until you are on they way to Chamonix so they can charge you the tour and give you a partial refund, the price of the cable chair and the train. When we talked to the guide he said that buses must leave, otherwise they would have to refund the whole trip, as he said, when talking to the manager of the office she told us they couldn’t give a total refund because we had used the bus and the guide.
They charge you for something otherwise you wouldn’t take. Be aware of the possibility of your trip being cancelled.
They totally ruined our day.

We enjoyed the full day trip to Chamonix with Key Tours and our guide Kris. The 1.5 hour journey from Geneva to Chamonix was in a very comfortable brand new glass top bus. When we arrived, the group was given tickets and direction on taking the cable car to Aiguille du Midi. As others have mentioned, the guide does not have you follow him around all day while he imparts his wisdom. (But you could do that, as it seemed he was always nearby and we had nice conversation with him a few times throughout the day.) After two cable car rides and then an elevator ride, we reached the highest point. The weather the day we visited was absolutely beautiful, but it was still quite chilly at the top. All worth it for the stunning views! What was probably not worth it, however, was waiting in line for the glass box. You're allowed only a short time inside the box while an employee takes your photo, so you don't get to really experience the 360 view and if it's cloudy, you won't see much at all. It is probably better to just take in the views on the various platforms and then go back to the village for lunch. After lunch was the scenic train ride to visit the ice cave. There is another cable car ride to get to the ice cave and again, the views for this part of the tour are amazing. But be ready for the steps going back up from the ice cave! Our visit was on a Sunday, so perhaps wait times were longer, but I do wish we had had more time to explore Chamonix. Overall, since we only had one day to visit, I am very pleased we opted for the tour versus trying to coordinate everything ourselves.

Clearly a popular tour with a full bus of 45+ people.
Special mention to the tour guide, who lives in Chamonix, Chris (hope got the name correctly), added local color of the area, glaciers etc; and was clear in providing directions on tour logistics.
Since the Aiguille du Midi cable car is in maintenance, and ice caves also not available, 4 or close to 4 hours were available for Chamonix, which is more time than necessary for the small town, on a Sunday. Of course, one could claim travelers can opt for spending more time on Mer de Glacé, but again, there isn’t much to linger more than an hour at most, and reduce the Chamonix time.
Callout here is the tour operator could have made it clear and adjust the tour duration when it knows in advance the cable car and ice caves aren’t available. Of course there are enough disclaimers to ensure travelers all are informed, but even without speaking of partial refunds, time wasn’t effectively spent.
Some travelers made the wise choice to just prepay for the transportation alone, and held off until tour guide asks for optional upgrades; from a money perspective, that seems to be a wise approach to take. Of course, it doesn’t help spending more time than necessary in Chamonix.

What time do you pick up and drop off at, approximately? I plan to take a train to Bern after finishing the trip, so I would like to take this into consideration.
