A great guided tour - ask for Roy Fisher!
May 2021
We arrived late and had to catch up with our guide, Roy Fisher, who was extremely gracious and spoke excellent English. He was very entertaining and interesting and gave us an unusual tour with a lot of intriguing information that you would not find in a guide book. A very worthwhile experience. Roy was carrying a big folder of photographs to complement and illustrate his stories. A very good way to feel that you understand the town and its history in an intimate way.

Worth signing up for this
Our guide was very informative and kept us moving at a gentle pace to keep us warm but not enough to tire us out. Learned a lot about Basel and loved going through the side streets. I didn't know until our guide told us that the water from the fountains is drinkable (bar the Tingley fountain). This was very helpful especially as I'd almost run out of water in my bottle.

Great Introduction to Basel!
This tour is a great way to get to know Basel and it's history. Isabelle was a lovely guide! I appreciated how she incorporated fun elements like letting us drink from one the city's many fountains, and the sweet Swiss treat! The tour was so helpful in learning my way around the city for the few days I was in Basel.

Great value

You beat your tour guide by the mechanical fountain that moves just outside the new State Theatre. You should wear comfortable shoes and hopefully it won’t rain on you like it rained on me. It’s a very pretty city and the guy is very good and knowledgeable.

Basel, yet another attractive Swiss city!
Sep 2019
At the beginning of our Viking river cruise from the Swiss Alps to Paris, we explored Basel where three nations converge—Switzerland, France and Germany. Basel’s Old Town is a cluster of medieval buildings on a hilly riverbank. The Marktplatz or Market Square is surrounded by guild halls in late Gothic, Renaissance and baroque styles. We photographed the ornate spires of the Rathaus or Town Hall and the thin towers of the 13th-century Romanesque Basler Münster or Munster Cathedral. Its red sandstone was quarried from the nearby Vosges Mountains in neighboring France. Unfortunately, the city’s open air market was closed, but we found a favored local treat, Basler Läckerli cookies in a shop.

Definitely worth 2 hours
Aug 2019
Chose this tour because we wanted a quick overview of the city and to kind of get our bearings. Note the meeting place listed was under construction so the meeting place changed to across the street in a little park near the fountain. Our guide provided a great tour of some of the old towns highlights with significant and pertinent commentary along the way. Be advised the tour ends in a different place then where you start.

The presenter was very knowledgeable about the city and its historical events. We covered a lot of ground and even through the rain it was fun.

Old town Basel tour
Aug 2019
Jacqueline was excellent!! In fact she had a large bilingual group, and did a fantastic job answering question sin two languages. I errantly made our rez for the wrong day, and she allowed our foursome to join her tour despite its size! Really impressed with her knowledge and pictures she displayed. Would highly recommend booking with her when you travel to Basel! Great Swiss town, not to be missed!!!
