- NedraInItaly0 contributionsYes Yes Yes to this tour!I highly advise this tour. Susan knows Perugia so well and my group really enjoyed all the places we went to. You sample everything from pastry to desert and of course vino! As you walk through the city you are given a history lesson as well. I will recommend this tour to all of my clients.Written October 18, 2019
- jrj7360 contributionsWhat a great tour!Rosie was an absolute delight! She was knowledgable and very personable. The tour was a little pricey, but it was with every penny! At each stop we had delicious food, and Rosie was able to give us a mountain of information in between each stop. The time flew by, and I really hope everyone has the chance to take a tour with Rosie!Written May 30, 2019

- OregonWanderer20140 contributionsOutstandingTruly a fun and educational experience. We were guided around the city by Susan, who explained the culture and history behind the food and wine of Perugia and Umbria with humor and insight. We experienced a variety of eating and drinking establishments ,each one a piece of the food picture of Umbria. Bravo Susan. Highly recommend!Written May 11, 2018
- Anna J0 contributionsGreat Introduction to PerugiaEnjoyed a lovely tour with Susan today. We're staying about 30 mins outside of Perugia and wanted to see the city without necessarily hitting every tourist spot in town. We spent 4 hours eating and drinking our way round town with just the right amount of history and architecture thrown in too. The time we spent felt laid back but we were never left waiting or bored and we covered some ground (7,000 steps, not that I'm counting). We were made to feel at home at every stop by the proprietors, all of whom were proud of what they served and were eager to impress. We felt like we were let in to the best secrets. Susan knows everyone! If we were staying in Perugia itself, I feel like this tour would have set us up for a cracking few days of eating and drinking. I would return to every place we stopped at. Thanks Susan!Written May 10, 2018
- kathleen p0 contributionsSO ENJOYED! GREAT TOUR of 'all' of PerugiaWe had a limited time in Perugia and would never ever have learned or found all the secret eateries that Susan took us too. It was information and interesting. There was a great selection of food and a little wine/beer also. We never stayed too long anywhere-which we liked since we got to see all of Perugia. We appreciate all your knowledge and your expertness in navigating the city. Well worth it and AWESOME. I hope you remember us- SISTERS ( Teachers ) from New England! - ContinentalTraveller0 contributionsNot to be missed experience for food lovers when visiting PerugiaWe had the most amazing afternoon with Susan. She was informative, interesting and full of passion for her adopted city and it's food and wine culture. We ate our way through the most interesting streets in Perugia, meeting chefs, waiters, and breathing the stories of the City and what life is like here. We would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Perugia and I plan to book my parents in when they are here in May. We learnt so much about the amazingly under-estimated Umbrian food and wine culture, at divine food and were swept up in the history of this amazing city. Don't miss this.Written February 21, 2018
- Silvia G0 contributionsDo not miss out when in Umbria! This culinary tour with Susan is a very unique experience, please do yourself a favour and book this tour when you are planning on visiting Perugia - or even when not, it is so worth it!!!! I loved all the little food stops with typical authentic Italian or better Umbrian specialities while we learned about Perugia and its sites. My personal favorite was the quaint restaurant where they served us truffle pasta. Susan is an awesome guide, a great character and fun to listen to with all her stories. Definitely highly recommended!!!!Written January 4, 2018
- DianeMarieL0 contributionsA must do tour when visitng UmbriaAnyone visiting the Perugia area the Foodie Walking Tour of Perugia is a must! Susan is an excellent tour guide of her beloved city. The foodie stops are chosen with care representing Susan's Perugia. Susan has special relationships with the shop owners and the tour participants are the lucky ones that benefit. Susan also provides historical commentary that is interesting but not too lengthy. We experienced a perfect day in Perugia!Written November 8, 2017
- Alice K0 contributionsSensational! Red letter day!We could not recommend Sue's tour highly enough. The food was incredible - quintessentially Perguian and the choice of stops well though out and restaurant/shop owners were very hospitable. A very well thought out itinerary - even in the sweltering August heat the walk was pleasurable with many stops to rest and hydrate. Delicious goodies were available for purchase but no pressure to buy. Sue's foodie knowledge combined with her understanding of Italian culture made for a rich experience. The truffle pasta and pistachio gelato deserve mentions! Oh and the prosciutto!Written August 9, 2017
- Drindle0 contributionsWonderful!!A fantastic day with Susan! Not just wonderful food and wine, but culture and history too! All presented in a warm and personable way :) I would highly recommend not to miss this!Written July 6, 2017
- Skater1780 contributionsGood way to Spend The DayWe met outside our first point to visit and Susan (our guide)handled introductions (there were 2 couples). From there on in we had a great time. A relaxed stroll around Perugia sampling local food and wine in different restaurants and shops. If you go on this don't have breakfast- you will have plenty to eat- all of it local, fresh and tasty. Susan was not only informative about the food and wine but also explained about different parts of the city and its history. .Written May 30, 2017
- Jaiyla R0 contributionsDelicious AdventureThis tour is fantastic! You gain a new perspective of the beautiful city center while getting fed by the best restaurants in Perugia. The woman running the tour really knows her information which makes it even better. You also get a sense of community on the tour and the welcoming nature in Perugia.Written April 5, 2017

Rick was amazing! He led us all across Perugia as we tried local cuisine- most of which is much harder to experience on your own. I highly recommend this tour in an effort to learn some history as well as get a full appreciation for the Perugian culture and food! Hands down it was a 10/10 experience and we ate some of the best food we have ever tried.

We had a wonderful few hours in Perugia doing the tour with Richard. His enthusiasm and knowledge of the area is excellent. We learnt lots about local history and culture while wandering the streets, then had a fabulous lunch, sampling cheeses, cold cuts, a delicious truffle pasta and finishing with gelato.
He was a great guide and we thoroughly recommend this tour if you want to deepen your experience of this beautiful city!

The small group tour ended up as a solo tour with just me, guided by Richard Corazza. We strolled around the beautiful City of Perugia, sampling great local produce and dishes. As we walked, Richard talked about its vast history and present day place in society, and the time flew. I had a brilliant time in good company. What more could anyone want!

Our first day in Umbria and the introduction couldn't have been better. Susan at Via del Vino was great to work with as we set up this visit - quick and helpful responses and even gave us recommendations of others to work with for tours elsewhere in Umbria. Her husband, Richard, led the tour. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Perugia and Umbria and also about the food scene in Perugia, having had his own restaurant. The food was delicious and plentiful, starting with espresso and pastry, ending with gelato, and enjoying several other treats in between (the strozzaprete with truffles and local olive oil was a standout). Highly recommended!

It was a fun virtual tour of Perugia. Even after spending a month in Perugia, I clearly hadn't learned about some of the food highlights and history in Perugia until the Via Del Vino virtual tour November 8, 2020. It was great fun to learn more Perugian history while tasting (in my own home) 2 delicious Umbrian wines recommended by the tour guide, Susan Guerra. Susan is a wealth of knowledge of Perugia's history, wine and food. I enjoyed seeing some of my favorite Perugian landmarks while enjoying the wines with my truffle flavored cheese.

This is our second time doing the tour. the first time was 2 years ago and we returned to do it again, this time with the entire family.
Covid-19 situation enforced some changes in the places we visited, which we found it very enjoyable not to repeat exactly the same itinerary. On the other hand, we were happy to return to the "highlights" from the previous tour.
This time, our guide was Richard (The owner's husband) who is a chef and as such, we've got different angle of information on Perugia and specifically on the food.
Overall, this was one of the highlights of our trip in Italy this year. For sure, we will be back again.
Thank you Susan and Richard!

We had a brilliant time on our tour, led by Richard. All of the food and drinks we tried were excellent and Richard’s knowledge of Perugia meant we learnt a lot about the city! Also the booking process was easy and our dietary requirements (vegetarian) were catered for with no problems. Overall a great tour, I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Perugia

Using a green screen and beautiful photography, Susan did a private virtual tour for our group that was really well done. In advance of the tour we received a list of the wines and some of the foods to buy and while we tasted wine, cheese and prosciutto, we were taken on a tour of the streets of Perugia as we learned about the unique foods of Umbria. Highly recommended if you have a group of friends who want to do something unique!

My girlfriend and I went on Susan’s food tour last summer and it was fantastic! Susan is super knowledgeable and took us to a lot of great places oozing with atmosphere and local charm. High quality food and wine and a lot of great stories. I can not recommend this tour enough! Still six months later we talk about the tour as one of the high points of our Umbria vacation and I have recommended it to numerous friends. Go go go!

Hello! My husband, myself and our 2 year old daughter will be vacationing in Italy next month, staying at a rental home very close to Perugia and wanted to do a day there (at least). I was curious if this tour is toddler friendly? Would we be charged for our daughter coming along with us? Thank you!
Written September 1, 2019
I doubt Sue will charge you for the toddler. She is nice and accommodating. The charge is mainly for the food so assuming your toddler isn't eating pasta/chocolate/cold cuts, should be fine.
As far as taking your toddler, keep in mind you will be walking from restaurant to restaurant in town. As long as you are comfortable with that, again should not be a problem.
Written September 18, 2019
We will be visiting the Umbria region from 10-20 thru 10-30. We would love to take this tour but wondered if it was still being offered during the Chocolate Festival in Perugia?
Written August 16, 2019
Ditto what the other two answers. Available dates will be on the web site.

We are arriving Nov. 23 and would love your tour early in our visit. We only have a week and would find your tour as a good place to get to know where to go to eat and see the sights. Would that be possible?
