- ca4ks0 contributionsPisa Tour in October 2024Overall, the tour was excellent. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history and structures of Pisa. My suggestion is to book a mid-morning tour, around 10am to beat the crowds. Arrive about 8:30 to 9am and walk around the grounds and get a few pictures before the tour. Maybe grab a coffee and a pastry also. I felt that the description of the different tours was not well explained and the directions for the meeting place were not very specific. The square that we were supposed to meet had many souvenir vendors and was very congested. I also had trouble getting the vouchers to download for our tour guide, which created an inconvenience when checking in with the guide. Overall, I was very pleased with the tour and the admission price and would highly recommend this tour over trying to navigate yourself on a self-guided tour.Written November 19, 2024
- MargaretBenefiel0 contributionsOutstandingOur guide was excellent. She told us about the cathedral, the baptistry, and the leaning tower in bite-sized chunks, and then elaborated when we asked questions. All three sites were amazing and she made them even more amazing by what she told us.Written October 27, 2024
- FoodIloveit0 contributionsWell worth doingOutstanding and friendly guide, the knowledge we gained made the visit so much more special about the whole square of Miracles and how all the beautiful buildings relate to one another for one story, rather than just the leaning tower on its own.Written October 13, 2024
- miriamglasgow0 contributionsExcellentExcellent tour guide , very friendly with a sense of humour. We enjoyed listening to the echo inside the babtistry as lucky enough to experience singing.Enjoyed the experience greatly!Written October 8, 2024
- E3072SBemmaj0 contributionsWorth it, even in the rain!Beautiful and very informative! Our tour guide Claudia was a native Pisan and had extensive knowledge of the area and history. Glad I did this even when it was a rainy day. Really deepens your experience of Pisa!Written October 7, 2024
- B6356ADpatrician0 contributionsMore Than Only the TowerAndrea is a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide. She explained the rivalry between Pisa and Florence while explaining the Medici family influence on Pisa. Walking through the cathedral and then having access to the tower was very interesting. It was wonderful to explore the Square of Miracles and ending with information about the leaning tower. Excellent tour and Andrea is amazing. I highly recommend taking this tour.Written September 23, 2024

- ianbM2847EK0 contributionsWe love PisaPisa is a fabulous place We stayed at the NH pisa hotel across from the station. Take some advice and utilise the fantastic train service to access other cities you won't be disappointed the trains are clean...smooth cheap and frequent you can't go wrong. The people of pisa were friendly polite and very helpfulWritten September 14, 2024
- cms123xx0 contributionsGreat tourGreat tour, excellent tour guide. She was knowledgeable and easy to listen to. She was informative but made it fun. She checked everyone was OK and answered questions. The climb up the leaning tower was lots of steps, so only do this if you can manage over 300 steps. The steps weren't steep, but in places the marble was a little slippery and worn and uneven. The climb was worth it for fabulous views over the city and the cathedral.Written September 10, 2024
- 650jeannem0 contributionsGreat tour of everythingGreat tour. Our guide was very informative without going on and on. With this tour, we were able to see inside the chapel and baptistry plus we added the tower climb. Would definitely recommend.Written September 8, 2024

- MYH1360 contributionsDefinitely do this tourWe loved the tour although we didn’t get to do the Baptistery as for some reason we hadn’t included it in our booking, even though we thought we had. We did do the Cathedral and the Leaning Tower. Both of these were fantastic and well worth doing. Our guide was amazing and gave you just enough information with a lot of enthusiasm including giving you something to think about. We would highly recommend doing this tour. The cathedral and how on earth they built it between the 9th and 10th Centuries is beyond belief. The engineering is fantastic. The Leaning Tower history - how it first leaned, how they finished it and how they have tried to stop it from leaning is fascinating as is climbing to the top. Well worth it.Written September 5, 2024

- Jen59420 contributionsGreat Small Tour of the Baptistry, the Cathedral, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa with a Timed Climb to Top!This tour was definitely worth it. When we originally signed up, it states 15 people max but there just 5 of us so we were happy with the size. We toured inside the baptistry, the cathedral and finally a timed entry to walk up the Leaning Tower of Pisa! Our tour guide provided much commentary of each building. Although the tour ended in about 1.5 hours, we were left on our own to climb the tower. Our ticket also allowed us to tour the cemetery the hospital and other museums onsite and we did them all the next day! The ticket to tour the rest of the area is good for 1 year. The price was definitely worth it as it provided a complete picture of the buildings, the creators, the architecture and background and other stories. This is our 3rd tour with TripAdvisor and Viator and we have been very happy! We are looking forward to one more tour in Bologna with TripAdvisor. Well done!Written August 31, 2024

We did the 3 hour tour of the piazza miracoli including the wine tasting.
The guided tour with Andrea, which took one hour or 1/3 of the time, was amazing. She was friendly, well performed and brought humour into the mix. This part we would rate 5 stars.
Afterwards came the wine tasting which was the longer and far more expensive part of the tour. For this we were sat in a restaurant where we were brought 3 different regional wines paired with 3 different bruschetta and pecorrinos. Neither were the wines specially paired or selected nor were they explained in any usefull or informative manner. It seemed that they were the three red wines that the restaurant servwd anyway by the glas. Tough our very small portions of wine (approx around 30 to 40ml) were quickly finished and the empty glasses swiftly removed, still it took a very long time for the next ones to come. Our only assumption is that we paid for a three hour tour, so that the tasting was artifically prolonged. On top, it seemed that this wasn't a wine tasting but just a local restaurant and the bottle of water to go with the tasting was charged additionally.
Our advise; definitively do the guided tour of the piazza but stay away from the wine tasting.

Dear Ms Buechler,
Thank you for your review, it help to us to improve our services. Anyway I would like to respond to few things. You already left on GetYourGuide your review with 2 stars and now you left one more review with 2 stars we already understood with the other one that you didn't like the wine tasting...and we cannot understand why 2 bad reviews...
I am Andrea the one that made the tour so thank you for the words about my work but I'm also the owner of the company and the one that created and organized the wine tasting tour. You booked a tour and the length of the tour was from 2 to 3 hours, you didn't took the Leaning Tower ticket so your tour was 2h and not 3h. So wine tasting was half of the tour and you paid for a guided tour with Cathedral tickets and wine tasting 37€ so is not so expensive as you said.
The food they give you is not included on the description of the tour so that was an extra. Wines have been specifically chosen by me and the owner of the restaurant whom is also a sommelier all the wines are DOCG (higgest quality of wines).
In Europe so also in Switzerland, America...all the bartenders associations stabilized in 120-150ml the ideal glass of wine, and D what you booked is a wine tasting which means try different kind of wines, it wasn't an All you can drink.
And finally yes, this was a local restaurant specializing in local wines and local products not a vineyard. There are no vineyards in the city center. And you booked a wine tasting not a vineyard tour. On you voucher of GetYourGuide you can see which is included and not. Water wasn't included, it wasn't to go either and in Italy like in everywhere, mineral water is not for free. Anyway you could just say no to water.
Best regards

Andrea was absolutely amazing, so funny with all her little stories about Pisa and the buildings. Very informative but did it in a way that kept everyone laughing and engaged! One of the best city guides I've ever had in terms of humour!! The wine tasting experience is also a must, a lovely little restaurant with 3 different wines to try with bruschetta and cheeses to complement, we had a lovely time in pisa.

Anastasia was a lovely guide, telling us pieces of architectural information about the various buildings. The cathedral has a magnificent ceiling. I spotted that the ‘windows’ above the main doors are made of alabaster (thanks to seeing similar in the Cathedral in Valencia). The light shines through them into the church. From the outside, doesn’t look like windows at all.
I feel that we could have been given information about the inside, but the cathedral was very busy so not that easy to stand together to receive details. We booked the climb up the leaning tower (well worth it as the lean itself makes for a strange sensation as you climb up and descend the marble steps. Anastasia waited for us at the bottom and took us to the very close by restaurant where we tasted 3 wines. Wine tasting was OK, but nothing spectacular. I wish the tour had included the baptistery but I paid the €7 and went in afterwards. The acoustics are quite lovely (a member of staff sings some notes to demonstrate just as Anastasia said) and the best view IMO is from the upper gallery.

The tour was fun and informative. Relatively small group. Plenty of time on your own to climb tower and wander the cathedral. Wine tasting had 3 full glasses of very nice Tuscan wine.

We highly recommend the tour with the wine tasting! The tour was very interesting and really helped to get another look on „the place of miracles“ by the great and interesting background information our guide gave us. Although we didn‘t visit the Pisa Tower from the inside, we didn‘t miss anything and were totally happy with the lovely wine tasting in the end :) but we recommend to book the tour at 13:30 rather than 10:00, because we were very exhausted after the early wine tasting :D

We bought this tour with friends and after finally meeting our guide after getting lost getting to the meeting place, we enjoyed a really wonderful tour. Our guide was engaging, humorous and very knowledgeable. The square of miracles and the cathedral in particular was absolutely stunning! The tour ended in a lovely cafe enjoying 3 types of red wine which she had arranged to come out with antipasti each time. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend

We attended the walking tour and we loved every minute. The guide was so informative and friendly and really made us see the hidden gems of Pisa. So much more than just the tower. The tour was organized super well and the wine tasting after the tour was the perfect ending to the walk. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for the true Pisa experience.

We are visiting Pisa on May 6, 2020. I am confused. It says your departure is 11:15-11:16. What does that mean?
What time do we need to arrive for the tour and how long is it?
We need to know to tell our taxi driver since we are arriving from Florence
Thank you
