About
Come and visit the last Medici residence in Florence. The museum takes place through the daily life of the Medici Grand Dukes family, from Cosimo I to the last descendants (early 18th century), Ferdinando, Gian Gastone and lastly Anna Maria Luisa also known as the Palatine Electress to whom it is dedicated the museum. The successors of the Medici, the Habsburg Lorraine, up to the first King of Italy with adjoining Royal apartments. In addition to the civic and political function of the rooms, the museum also preserves a private collection of Florentine paintings, ancient statues, furniture and mosaics of great beauty and historical importance. Not to mention the frescoes that decorate the ceilings and walls. By purchasing this type of ticket, you will have the opportunity to additionally purchase the ticket for the Boboli Gardens.

    History of the Art
If you have the opportunity to take this tour, I highly recommend it. Costanza, the tour guide, was well educated on the history of the paintings and sculptures she presented.

Excellent overview of the Uffizi gallery .
I can thoroughly recommend the semi private tour around the Uffizi our tour guide Manuela was brilliant . She was very knowledgeable and entertaining with her stories and covered the main paintings in detail.

Perfect for a first visit, a good selection without overwhelming.
A knowledgeable and friendly tour guide, Ilaria was great. Attentive, engaging and considerate. She even stayed with us longer to show us additional works. The group was only 9 people so didn’t feel impersonal and the selection of masterpieces was just right to get a good diversity without overwhelming.

Great option for Skip The Line tickets. No guide included.
We decided to go with the Skip The Line Tickets because all the tickets sold directly through the Uffizi and The Academia websites were sold out. Our itinerary was tight and we only had time to go on a specific day. I recommend to buy ahead (even in low season) or you might end up in a similar situation. These tickets are certainly up-charged versus buying direct. This is not the cheapest option but it did get us out of a pinch from missing the museums. The City Florence Tours office is about a 2 minute walk from the Uffizi. Once everyone from the group arrives, one of the office workers walks everyone to the Uffizi expedited line and speaks with the museum officers to allow you in. You can spend several hours in the Uffizi (max 3 hours). Once done, the office will give you a time to report back to their office to be escorted to The Academia museum. Again, a office worker walks you to the expedited door of The Academia museum. There is no tour guide included in either museum. It's all self guided. But you do get Skip The Line tickets. That's super helpful and saves time. Before we bought the tickets, we had specific questions about the tour that weren't clear. We found their number and called them directly. They were happy to answer all questions and ultimately decided to go with City Florence Tours.

A fantastic guided tour of the Uffizi Gallery
An excellent small group tour with Manuela of the Uffizi Gallery. Manuela was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about art and Florence in general, (and a local!) and we learnt so much from her. The insight and information she was able to give us about key paintings made the whole experience so much more enjoyable. Would highly recommend.

    Great tour! Don't miss it!
We had a fantastic tour with our guide, Francesca. She was knowledgeable and entertaining. She gave us so much background information on what we were seeing that we now sound like art historians!

    Uffizi
Great art and wonderful guide. Hillary did an outstanding job of editing the important work allowing us to not be overwhelmed with the amount of art present and keeping the focus on the most important art and also the history of the art. She was the best tour guide of our 10 day trip

    Glad we went
Well worth the stairs to visit the gallery. Very helpful guides who spoke English. To see paintings and sculptures by Leonardo da Vinci and many others was wonderful. We used the listening devices and each room has a number on the wall for everyone to tap in to listen to the great voice of Francesco De Mosta.... who gave us an excellent commentary.

Do not skip while you are in Florence.
Do not skip while you are in Florence. Location: Right in the center of Florence with many attraction around. Content: Medieval paintings. Tips: go to the 2nd floor first then walk down, near the exit go to the gift shop and get the umbrella with the painting on the cover top. You can skip the David Statue Museum but do not skip the Uffizi museum .

    Worth the visit
Getting the tickets ahead of time was great. We met at the tour operators office and then they provided the ticket to us with an option to upgrade to a guided tour. My kids wanted to see it on their own; however, I would have enjoyed a guided tour. They walked us to the area where we could skip the line. It’s crowded in the museum and stuffy in some areas and there is so much to see. It will take at least 3 hours. Make sure that you have a map. We had a scavenger hunt for the popular pieces to keep the kids engaged.

    Recommended Tour
We enjoyed this tour which is split into two separate time frames with a break in between and we planned accordingly; the David is in the second portion of the tour. The guide was knowledgeable and approachable. Recommended.

    Walking Among Masterpieces
The museum is lovely and a must see. It takes one's breath away to see the works if masters up close. This is my second visit and it's well worth it.

    Scam
Note the meeting place for the tour. It is 15-20 min away from the museum. Very inconvenient and unnecessary to get there tickets. They charged 10x cost of tickets.

The day before we were scheduled to go to the Pitti Palace, we stopped at the ticket office to pick up our reservation and timed tickets. We were told we had to come back tomorrow, one and a half hours before our tour-ridiculous! This requires a lot of walking (across town) as the ticket office is not even near the palace! No other Florence tour makes you tromp all over to enter a location. We told them “forget it” as we went to the Bargello Museum instead. I ate the cost, but don’t regret it. My advice? Skipping the Pitti Palace tour is not a loss, I say see anything else in Florence.

Me and my husband were very pleased with the beautiful exhibitions we saw at the palace. It’s definitely worth the money and time to get a closer look to the world and live of the Medici‘s.
The best palace we were ever been to.
The bad thing was, that during our tour at the palace, there was a summer storm outside. So the garden was close to visitors the rest of the day. A security guard didn’t let us go outside, because of the bad weather conditions and it might be slippery out there. Anyway they offered us to „resign“ our tickets with a visit of the gardens the next day straight. It was such a pity because we were leaving the next day early to a different place.
I definitely recommend it to all the people that are in history and art!
