- 1We’ll pick you up at the meeting point in the centre of Florence and we’ll drive you in our minivan to the Chianti area (about 15 minutes ride through the Tuscany hills), where you will jump in the saddle of a quality 24 speed bicycle; you’ll get even the helmet, water bottle and a quick briefing before starting with your new exciting experience! Following our professional local guide, you will discover vineyards and olive groves, medieval castles and hillside villa estates, leisurely riding along green paths and romantic countryroads through the gentle hills around Florence, worldwide renowned as the land of wine. You will enjoy a full day supported bike ride in the beauty of Tuscan landscapes, taking amazing pictures of hidden sites and of breathtaking views of Florence and surroundings. You will stop for lunch at a stunning private Chianti Villa Estate, where our local guide will show you around the vineyards, the ancient “cantina” and the traditional “Orciaia” (old oil jars storage) situated just below the medieval Villa. Local wine tasting will give a special flavor to your meal: a delicious Tuscan multi-course lunch served in the Cellar. About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- davidaintgrizz0 contributionsWaste of money and timeBig markup, no perks. Had to walk further to pick up tickets and because the agency didn’t provide tickets for the time I actually booked, we had to queue into the next time slot. 30 minutes wasted. Better off booking elsewhere.Written August 1, 2024
- 475mariellaf0 contributionsBook at your own risk. Have a backup planHave a back-up plan. We arrived on Sunday, July 14 at 4pm and had plans to do a night bike tour at 8PM. Three hours before our tour the bike tour company email us saying they had an emergency and had to cancel the tour. That’s it. We have a short stay in Florence and this tour was suppose to hit some of the main sites. Had I known, I would have made back up plans. In a Sunday at 4pm, it hard to come up with something that covers these areas. Book at your own risk.Written July 14, 2024
- Travel029492165350 contributionsAppalling customer service from Slow Tour TuscanyWe booked 4 tickets to visit the Academia Gallery in Florence through Headout, using Slow Tour Tuscany as their local agent. The experience of obtaining the tickets was appalling. We arrived well before the 15 minutes prior to the booking. We waited at the appointed place. No one approached us or identified themselves to us. At one point my husband approached two men who appeared to be holding a number of tickets to ask if they were the agents, but they said they were not. Eventually, five minutes before the ticket entry, I approached the men again, asking if they knew where the Slow Tour Tuscany representative might be. At this point, they acknowledged that we had a booking with them, and handed me our tickets. I sense that they were going to try and re-sell the tickets to people in the long queue waiting to buy tickets. Because of their dismal customer service, I would recommend avoiding this company. Unless Headout appoint a different local partner company, I would not use them to make any bookings in Tuscany.Written June 29, 2024
- 753gabriellej0 contributionsExcellent tourThe trip was very quick, only a short security line of maybe 5 minutes to get in. The guide was so knowledgeable and the gallery limits the number of people allowed in so it was not overly crowded. I would recommend this tour for anyone wanting to see the statue of David or the gallery in generalWritten June 22, 2024
- 353st_phaneb0 contributionsThieves. Huge trapIt’s a huge trap. No audio guide given. They charge you 21 euros more for tickets at 38 euros per ticket. the description said palazzio pizzi, uffizi museo plus 8 museums but the museum are inside the palazzio pizzi and they argue they gave 15% to getyourguide site but remains 35% extra. Do not choose this agency, thieves.Written May 9, 2024
- Adam B0 contributionsPay, get confirmation, but be told here are no tickets!!! JOKERS!Paid for tickets to be told they don't exist! Booked Dome tour in Florence the day before the visit, paid and got confirmation of the booking, so all good.... so I thought! The next day when I went to collect the tickets, the people there said there had been a mistake, and there were actually no tickets booked, although I had paid about 170 euro for the privilege!!!!! All they said was that there had been an oversight and that her had no tickets available... but not enough oversight that they still charged be!! Surely they should of told me of this ASAP and refunded rather than me having to go and try to collect. Very poor and potentially dishonest service... I would be very sceptical to use this shambles again!Written January 5, 2024
- Antony W0 contributionsLot of walking up hills and stepsIt’s a climb but beautiful. The palace tour all seems to be on the upper levels, so fine when you get there. The gardens are very hilly and it’s quite a climb to the top level so be warned. It is beautiful but if you are not used to walking up quite steep hills allow yourself a bit of time to make sure you get to see it all.Written November 13, 2023
- FBXSX0 contributionsSlow Tours Tuscany IS A SCAM.Slow Tours Tuscany is a SCAM. I booked through Turbopass Florence and when we showed up to collect our tickets at the museo, the guy asked us for more money and refused to give us the tickets we had already paid for... DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM. I have the receipts and booking confirmation for proof. The Sporco Stronzo tried to shake us down for extra cash. Do yourself a favor and avoid Turbopass and Slow Tours Tuscany. Book anywhere else and avoid this BS. Follow up: Polizia acknowledge Slow Tours Tuscany uses con men to shake down prebooked customers for more money in cash. Get your tickets printed and given to you in advance, avoid Slow Tours Tuscany...book through the museo or a legitimate company. Do not use Turbopass.Written October 12, 2023
- oldwineryl0 contributionsUnprofessional and unreliableWe had a really bad experience with this company and its owner. Two months before our trip to Florence this spring, I contacted Annalisa Menconi, who is the owner of the company, to inquire about their tours as we were interested in private tours in Florence and Tuscany. We had a zoom meeting where we discussed our interests and preferences and agreed on a private 3-hour city tour with an art and history expert as well as a Truffle Hunting tour in Tuscany. I got a confirmation from Annalisa via email after the call. In addition, I followed up with her prior to our departure to Italy to make sure that everything was still according to the plan. Everything was confirmed! We spent the first three weeks in Italy in Rome and Sicily. Three days prior to flying to Florence I sent another reminder to Annalisa about our arrival in Florence and inquired about the name of the private guide/start time of the tour. It was important for us to have an art and history expert as my husband has an advanced degree in art and is a history buff. The day before our arrival I got an email from Annalisa telling me that she will be our guide and she will meet us at our hotel at 10 am for the private tour. We were taken aback as we were promised a tour with the art/history expert, not with the travel agent, but we didn't have many options at that point. 10 minutes prior to 10 am tour start time we got an email from Annalisa that she had an emergency and couldn't do the tour until the afternoon. Well, we had tickets to the Academia in the afternoon. I told Annalisa that we would make alternative arrangements and will not need her services. Though we had a confirmation for the Truffle Hunting tour, I was pretty sure that it was a sham and it would not materialize. Fortunately, the concierge in our hotel, Relais Uffizi, was able to arrange a private tour for us with a fantastic guide. She really saved the day and made our introduction to Florence extra special. I think that the way were treated by Annalisa and Slow Tuscany Tours was very unprofessional and could have spoiled our Italian vacation if not for Irene and the wonderful staff at our hotel. I would not recommend dealing with this company - there are a lot of good choices for tours in Florence.Written June 7, 2023
- mmdale0 contributionsDon’t book with this company!!!!!!!!We got cancelled 4 days before our scheduled visit! Even though I had the CONFIRMED visit to The Academia in Florence. We’ll. Wasn’t that special? NOT! By the time Tripadvisor let me know they cancelled our tour/skip the lines tour, trying to get tickets was impossible.Written June 2, 2023
- dscoggins630 contributionsTour company Rate 1 but the ticket pick up 5.Though I rated there’s only a three, the only problem was with the tour company themselves they gave us our voucher at the very last minute before I was leaving the United States. They did not answer any of my queries. They did not provide good customer service. Once I received the voucher and came to Florence getting the tickets needed was an easy and prompt experience.Written May 17, 2023
- joannedB3035IL0 contributionsOutstanding TourThis free tour at was a lovely surprise. We had a local guide who was extremely knowledgeable about the city its history and presented in a humorous way. Elizabeth kept all of us (19) together without us feeling left out.Written March 20, 2023
- C2044OOjuliac0 contributionsSara Fabbri - get her as your guide!!!Our tour guide Sara Fabbri was fabulous and was well versed in everything inside the museum as well as Florence and the history. She gave incredible recommendations around the city as well. My husband and I had a private tour with her and she was great! Thank you Sara! :)Written January 18, 2023
- Lucy T0 contributionsAppalling company do NOT useTerrible company and poor customer service. The instructions for tickets is abysmal. Do NOT use this company, as they’ll take your money and not help or listen to your experience.Written September 9, 2022
- mgnapoli10 contributionsTOUR GUIDE DID NOT SHOW UPDon't book with this company. We waited almost an hour for our tour guide to show up, and it was a no show. I would have wondered if I got the instructions wrong, but another couple from Belgium was there waiting with us. They finally got through to the local office and were notified that the tour was cancelled due to "green pass problems." They gave us no notification, even though they had everyone's email addresses. Totally unprofessional.Written September 15, 2021
