The reason I am rating this low, is that the description of this Balloon ride does not match where they actually fly- The title says Piedmont from Turin, but they actually fly from near Florence- so I had to cancel and figure out late to reserve another company.

The trip with this family owned company was great! Their service and kindness is Excellent. The flight itself is a Beatifull highlight of our trip through Toscany. I can recommend both the activity as well as this company.

I got this balloon trip over Turin and Langhe from Carru as a present for my girlfriend ca 2 month in advance of our Italy roundtrip. When the day before the trip approached where we were supposed to get the final info regarding pick up place nobody contacted us. I called several times and eventually around 6pm the captain contacted me and asked us to postpone. I mentioned to him that the weather forecast didn't look good for the coming days, but he was confident that we could do the trip on one of these days. Next day same game .. no info and only after my request he came back telling us that the weather in the morning didn't allow us to fly. I proposed to fly in the evening but again no reply. The final day was the same game again. We waited until the very end until we contacted him. We checked the weather forecast which looked ok but the captain told us that he won't fly in these conditions. Needless to say that at no point he offered alternatives or explained why he cancelled the first day (beautiful weather, no excessive wind and sunshine). It really looks like he just didn't have enough people to fill the balloon with other customers and didn't want to take just two people. All in all a very disappointing experience. I m sure that if you actually fly it's beautiful scenery but the customer service in this location was so bad that we can't recommend this company.

Excellent experience well worth the money!!!! Beautiful Tuscany country side Olive trees saw deer, wild boar just amazing. Difficult to find meeting point.

My travel partner wanted to ride a hot air balloon in Tuscany. Who am I to deny a bucket list item? It was amazing to soar so high over the hills in Tuscany. Other than the blasts of heat to navigate the balloon, one enjoys such a serene, quiet, romantic ride. Floating almost aimlessly for over an hour. It is not inexpensive but worth it nonetheless. (If you check the internet and cannot decide with whom to book, you should know that it appears that there are two or three companies that all operate in tandem. When we got to the site, there were three companies who all took off together and landed nearby.)

I must commend the professional staff at Balloon Team Italia for providing a most-enjoyable flight experience! Our pilot Guido was very skilled & professional, yet he still had time to be friendly and helpful and personable. Great Guido selfies too! Highly recommended!

This company, Balloon Team Italia, can arrange a wonderful balloon flight for you at several locations in Italy. My wife and I were very happy to fly with them over the rural countryside outside of Rome. We were staying in the center of Rome, but the company arranged for a private car to pick us up right at our hotel, as well as some other people at their hotels, and then take us all directly to the flight location (perhaps a 40-minute drive). When we arrived the team already had two their balloons inflated and ready to go; we hopped in and off we went! Our flight was delightful, the rural Italian countryside was charming, and as we drifted along, passing little puffs of fog, the visuals were amazing! With our expert pilot GUIDO in control, we drifted along first at low level, following a lazy river, then watching flocks of sheep; we even saw a cyote stalking the sheep. Then Guido climbed our balloon up and up and we finally cleared the tall trees on the top of a ridge, wonderful! We flew on and on for what seemed like miles of scenery and hours of joy, before our two balloons finally landed, each in it's own little open spot; they were right near each other and also near their ground-support crew. They poured a glass of champagne for each of the passengers and we all toasted our good fortune to have flown with this very professional, very enjoyable balloon team. A perfect ending to a perfect ballooning adventure!

this is the second time i went to toscana for heat balloon. For the first time the flight is cancelled due to the bad weather. but i decided to take the flight still in toscana and the trip was totally worthwhile. it's exciting when the balloon rises up and you can enjoy the beautiful country view of toscana peacefully. i didn't feel we flowed so much in the air, but after we landed i think it took one hour to drive back to the starting point. several suggestions for the people who have the attempt. 1 reserve the earlier date. there were four successive days of flight in the date plan for this time and i booked the first day. if the weather is bad, they would postpone the flight to the next day. Then you can still have the opportunity. 2 get to the place earlier so that you can participate into the preparation for the flight or have a look at the complete procedure to fly the balloon. 3 the severe problem for people without a car. there are three possible places in toscana to take off but they couldn't confirm which one until 18.00 the day before the flight. so i reached Pisa first, where is the main node of toscana railway network. after i got the news the flight would be held in Calzaiolo, a small town after San casciano. i phoned the only hotel in that town and unfortunately there was no available room. Without any other choice, i rushed to Florence and booked a hotel on the way and called a taxi later for next day early morning. It's about 30km away from Florence to Calzaiolo with 60 euro cost. The pilot is very kind. He gave me a ride to Siena after the flight. I appreciated his favor.

I purchased a Groupon for The Balloon Team, to celebrate my husband’s Birthday. The Groupon information, provided by the Balloon Team, indicated all the cities in Italy that you could depart from, and I decided on Lucca. I viewed their website, which also indicated the departure cities and emailed them the date and a copy of the Groupon. No timely response. I tried again, but had to cancel my hotel reservation and rebook it on another date because of their lack of a timely response (5 days to respond to an email). The second date I had chosen showed that it was available (two weeks in advance) on their web site when I emailed The Balloon Team, but by the time they responded, (6 days later) it was full. Additionally, they stated I had only purchased the balloon trip for one person, not two, so I provided them with the appropriate documentation. When I requested again to depart from Lucca, I learned that the wind and the weather determine where you depart from and no specific location can be guaranteed; they recently changed their web site to regions and they no longer offer a specific city, because they can’t deliver! If you don’t have a car, forget about booking a trip! My hotel reservation was in Lucca and they said it might be necessary to drive to Sienna, nearly 2 hours away in the early morning, to take the flight. Because of their poor response to my emails, not acknowledging that I had purchased a balloon ride for two people and their inability to depart from Lucca, as indicated in Groupon, I wanted a refund. Unfortunately, never use Groupon for travel arrangements! They are responsible for refunding my money; two months have passed with multiple phone calls and emails and I’m still waiting! It’s been a completely frustrating experience dealing with both The Balloon Team and Groupon-I don’t recommend either one!
