- HeatherH6860 contributionsUnique and Local ExperienceWe had a wonderful time on this tour, with our host Raffaela. Truffle Hunter dog, Choco and his protege, Aries, were able to find us a truffle that we enjoyed during lunch. The walk in the woods was peaceful and beautiful and helps you work up an appetite. Lunch exceeded our expectations with multiple courses, delicious flavors, and wine. All products are produced by Francesca and her family, on-site. We loved this unique and local experience!Written October 5, 2024

Andrea was amazingly interesting, entertaining, caring to our needs and very knowledgeable. Being with my family for the first time in Italy, I could not have hoped for a better guide. We had fun, we discovered amazing vineyards, plus Andrea took the time to give us a training on wine tasting technique which made us appreciate it even more. His knowledge of Italian history is quite impressive. Our 2 vineyards visits were awesome with Catherina and Alicia as hosts. Thank you so much for an amazing memory.Written August 11, 2024

- s k0 contributionsViator’s error was our WIN!We were emailed a cancellation and started to look for other wine tour- lucky for us we found Andrea and this spectacular tour of the region, 2 vineyards, a beautiful lunch and a walking tour of Montepulciano. We were also fortunate to be the only ones on our tour, but I have no doubt Andrea would have been equally attentive to more guests. He was incredibly knowledgeable, personable and made the day a delight! I highly recommend asking for him if you are interested in this region, their grapes and their beautiful wines. You will not be sorry!Written July 1, 2024

We had Matteo as our driver/tour guide, and he was absolutely amazing! We went to two wineries and out for lunch in between! Matteo was so genuine, we felt immediately comfortable and at home with him! He was extremely knowledgeable of his country and of the wine culture, not only was he telling us about his country he also was interested in learning about ours and us personally. Our lunch was filled with story telling, and it felt as though we had made a life long friend! We highly recommend this tour and hope that you’re lucky enough to have Matteo as your guide!
Thank you Matteo, for making this tour a special memory to our honeymoon! We will be back! :)

Hilary was exceptional! Bravo! She is a sommelier and a great historian about Florence history. We learned a whole bunch about wine and Florence on our 7-8 hours with Hilary, all good. The castles we visited were amazing in the Chianti Rufina area of Toscana. Especially the story about Lorenzo the Magnificent at Castello del Trebbio. Hilary took us on a tour of the many cellars which were huge and deep. Upstairs we had an intimate wine tasting in a huge typical Tuscan dining room. The wines were very nice. We had lunch at Agriturismo Tenuta deli Cavalieri. This is also a horse camp. It was quiet , peaceful and delicious.
After lunch we headed to the highlight of our tour, Marchesi Gondi Tenuta Bossi . We were greeted by Marquis Bernardo Gondi and a little later by his sister Donatello. We toured the cellars as Bernardo educated us about his family history and their mission. He was very proud and passionate about his family’s history. We then were led to the interesting wine tasting room which had many antlers and stuffed animal heads around the room. We sampled 5 different wines, one white, three red and a vin santo. The wines were all very very good.
Hilary was a fantastic guide in such a wonderful area! We enjoyed her company. We learned a great deal about the wines and for that we say, Grazie Mille!

Five stars! Highly recommend. We had a lovely day on the Castle and Chianti Tour. Our tour guide, Julia, was fantastic- she was knowledgeable, friendly and made the entire experience so fun. We enjoyed two tastings at two beautiful vineyards, along with a delicious lunch in a small Italian village. By far our favorite experience we had while exploring Italy.

We started this day with Andrea as our tour guide and he quickly turned into our friend! With some of the most beautiful landscapes I’ve seen and some extraordinary food, I’ve had to write a review to tell everyone how incredibly worth it this tour was! Andrea’s knowledge, authenticity and gentleness made it even more magical than it already was! We highly recommend him as not only a tour guide but also as a good friend!

Our guide was informative, personable and a great driver. The wineries were great although our second stop was in Montepulciano by far one of the best I’ve ever been to. The scenery was incredible and never felt rushed.

This is a must-do when in Florence! The small group tour is so intimate and gives a much more personalized and customized experience than the larger tour operators, and you also have access to exclusive (and delicious) wineries. Our guide Pierpaolo was FANTASTIC, so knowledgeable, friendly and made the entire day so fun. This was the highlight of our ten days in Italy!!

Vittorio was a wonderful guide, driving us through hail and lightening to arrive at the gorgeous old Medieval castle where he taught us SO MUCH about wine making, how to taste wine, and about Florence history. I've been to a lot of wine tastings before but he really explained exactly how to do it and I really learned so much more. Chianti wines and super Tuscans are now quickly becoming an obsession! He's a sommelier so really knows his stuff. We also had a lovely meal in a tiny restaurant tucked away in the mountains where two brothers cooked seasonal Tuscan cuisine for us. It was well worth the money and a highlight of our trip!

My friends and I went on this tour with Matteo! As a guide, he was so knowledgeable (he is a sommelier!!!). Matteo was also very friendly and accommodating.
The tour was so much fun and relaxing. It was great to have the private transportation as we could really enjoy the wineries without worrying how to get back! The wineries were beautiful and full of history. The wine was all fabulous. And the tasting experience was so educational. The lunch that was provided was delicious. Full of local salamis, cheeses, a wonderful local potato like ravioli. And of course some wine! The second winery of the tour offered a shipping service to the USA which is amazing! You can buy the wine you enjoyed and it will be delivered at your doorstep.
I highly recommend this for couples, groups of friends! It is not to be missed.

Hilary is an amazing guide and is very personable and knowledgeable. We had a group of 11 people and were all mesmerized with the culture, wine and food. This is a must if you are visiting. It was our 2nd tour with Hilary and I hope to to it again. She is an excellent guide and kept us entertained the whole trip!
We visited a winery, had lunch in a rural restuarant and had a wine tasting in a Castle.
