About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- DayTrip314108797710 contributionsMeaningful and Memorable Tour!Having just a few days to explore Florence, we booked three separate tours of the Uffizi, Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens to make the most of our short visit to this culturally rich city. The Made of Tuscany team were quick to respond to our request and were flexible with creating a custom tour schedule for my family. Our guides, Giacomo and Susanna, possessed an obvious passion for and extensive knowledge of Italian history and art. Natural story-tellers, they provided valuable perspective and context to allow for deeper understanding of the master works we were seeing. We were grateful to have these warm, engaging, experienced guides help us navigate the vast collections, as well as the potentially daunting museum admissions/queue process especially in peak season. For any future travel to the area, I would absolutely contact this team again to help create a more meaningful, memorable visit.Written August 19, 2024

- L9490EJgarys0 contributionsExcellent Tour of Uffizi answer Academia GalleriesWhat a fabulous private tour provided today by Made of Tuscany and our amazing guide Giacomo. We saw so many people walking around both galleries with books and earbuds so they could get obtain basic info about the pictures and sculptures. We, however, were able to find out the details of each work and the story behind each work that really made the works come to life, and in turn, made each work more interesting. Giacomo was able to mix the descriptions of the works with histories of the time, stories of the artists (and their employers, families, loves, etc.) and humor. The hours flew by as we saw famous works in a way we never would have seen or understood without Giacomo. Our family highly recommends Made of Tuscany and our guide Giacomo.Written July 9, 2024

- gregoryl9200 contributionsMade of Tuscany Ruined our VacationThis company ruined our Tuscan vacation. I booked for 4 people e and arrived at the meeting spot a half hour early. No one had us on their list. I asked the people in pink shirts and blue shirts at the check in, I asked every bus driver, no one had our name and none of them had ever heard of Made in Tuscany. When I finally got through to the office to ask what had happened ( the office called me back after all the buses had left and we were there alone),the woman on the phone hung upon me. The reason we came to Tuscany was to visit Seina, Chianti and San Gimignano. We were leaving the area the next day so couldn't book another tour. We were devastated. The company said they would refund my $360 but that didn't make up for the fact we didn't visit the areas we came for. The company then blamed it on someone else, they said they had contracted withanother carrier ( they never told me) and the carrier's system dropped our names. They never took responsibility. We brought my niece and nephew and this company ruined a $9k trip and the memories we hoped to make. There are plenty of tour companies, DO NOT USE THIS ONE! Read lessWritten April 24, 2024

Don’t book if you expect facts and highlights from the book. Great historical tour (but our second).
Please be aware when you want to book this tour! It’s not at all what they promise. Despite a very professional tour guide and visiting some beautiful historical places… It had almost NOTHING to do with the novel or the movie. We had a history tour the day before and this didn’t ad any value on top of that. I normally don’t post comments like this and try to solve this with the touroperator. But they take days to respond and don’t acknowledge the fact that maybe 5% of the tour is about the book/novel.

Dear Mr Rick, you made our tour guide cry, as you were interrupting her every 2 seconds while she was touring. As I already stated Cristina is a very professional tour guide, perfecly built for our Inferno tour, a tour we are operating since the year 2013. The tour is 2 hours long: 1 hour inside Palazzo Vecchio and 1 hour walking tour on the tracks of Dan Brown's Novel. We are in Florence and of course the monuments need to be explained, as they are world's famous masterpieces of art. During the tour we speak about the Novel, i. e. what happened in every specific place AND about the monuments we see during the itinerary. Your behaviour was not fair at all towards the tour guide and towards the other members of the party, as it was a GROUP tour and not a private tour just for you. After the tour you contacted us many times and we gave you the logic answer about the tour. You were not satisfied by our answer, you contacted the Viator Support and we explained the same to our Viator partners. Yesterday you tried to threaten us writing to us that you would have come to the office and make a bad review. We are answering your review in the logic way facts have occured and we would have been at your disposal to talk with a coffee if you had come. We have not seen you in our office for the whole day. I want to let our readers know that Cristina got ALL 5 STAR reviews on this tour on the very same day you had it with her, despite your thousend interruptions . Have a nice day Susanna

The tour only took us to Palazzo Vechio and when we were supposed to go forward on the footsteps of Robert Langdon the guide told us that there are only 10 mins left and we don't have time. She lost a lot of time in every room of the Palace and we had 1 tourist who didn't know English so we had to wait on every explanation for the Spanish translation as well.

Dear Mr Paul, we are very sorry, someone on the tour was 35 minutes late, I do not remember if if were you. For this reason the guide had to enter the palace after Piazza Signoria, because the reservation was for 3:45 pm. The Palace is huge and it takes much time to explain all the hidden corners of the novel and some masterpieces themselves, like Vasari's frescoes, the Death Mask of Dante Alighieri and Michelangelo's Genius of the Victory and much much more. Our tour guide asked you if you had time to do the walking tour as well and YOU said you had to go somewhere else. Anyhow, next time you come to Florence, pls contact us and we will offer you another Inferno tour for free

As lovers of Dan Brown’s Inferno, it was fascinating to see the real life scene of the book and movie. Eleanor was very knowledgeable about the history of the Palazzo Vecchio and the Medici family, and the works and life of Dante Alghieri. We thoroughly enjoyed this walking tour as our introduction to Florence.

You don't need to be a fan of the film to enjoy this 2 hour walking tour around the centre of Florence and ending inside the Palazzo Vecchio. Our guide Daniela had a wealth of knowledge about the city and it's history and this proved to be a perfect introduction to our city break. She spoke with such passion about this beautiful city - thorougly recommend!

Made of Tuscany’s Inferno Walking Tour guided by Susanna
I did the walking Your with Susanna and I was impressed with her knowledge of not only the book (she actually read the book 14 times) but also how well she knew every corner and nook in Florence And the rich history behind the things and places we saw.
I was especially impressed with the accuracy of her detail explanation when she started cross referring what we saw with what’s described in Dante's Paradiso 25! Wow !!
The best part about this tour is that it helped me orientate myself with the city as Susanna walked us through all the major attractions in the book from the Boboli Gardens to Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Vecchio (she even showed us the door that leads to secret in Palazzo Vecchio), passages in Dante’s House, Dante’s Church, and Florence Baptistry.
Truly a well spent afternoon!
