The drive was beautiful and our guide Adriano was fantastic. She knew the history, the wines and was very accommodating and sweet with our 3 children. The farm visit was delicious and the host friendly, a walk through more of the grounds would have been great but it was cold so I appreciate the cellar tasting we had. The best olive oil!! A bit more aimed at us as the parents, but the children still got to taste cheese and chocolate. Half day made it manageable for them! Really enjoyable!

This tour was a highlight of our trip. Our driver Francesco was prompt, drove safely, spoke English very well and best of all knew so much about the area. He’s a true historian and was so easy to talk to during the trip. The places we visited were exceptional. From the little place on the piazza in Greve en Chianti to the Maurizio winery, we were blown away. Even the drive itself thru the southern part of Florence which was amazing to the hills of Chianti, all I can say is wow. This is a must-do if you’re in the area. And if you’re planning a trip to Italy without seeing this area, sorry for your loss. Maurizio’s vineyard is phenomenal. Stunning views, well designed and maintained tasting area. And your taste buds will be on cloud nine. The Chianti, olive oil, cheeses and chocolate were all excellent.

Our group was small - only two couples - and we set out at about 4 pm from Florence for the Tuscan countryside. Our driver made 3 unscheduled stops - at a scenic spot overlooking Florence, at a church that he said we 'had to see', and then at the place where Machiavelli was exiled. In hindsight, these were all lovely additions. But at the time, on a very hot day, we were a little concerned we would not get to all our scheduled stops.

No need to worry. Our first scheduled stop, at a 10th century abbey, was very interesting and provided great photo opportunities. We next arrived at the vineyard where our tasting would occur. This is the true highlight of the trip. The vintner and his wife were wonderful hosts, providing generous samples of five of the wines they bottled. There was no pressure to buy, only enjoy and relax. The surrounding countryside also made for beautiful photo opportunities.

Our specific tour included dinner, but the other couple's did not, so we were dropped at a lovely restaurant off of the town square of a lovely little town, after which our driver/tour guide took the other couple back to Florence. We had dinner and felt like locals. When we were done, our driver arrived to take us home.

The only suggestion I would make regarding this tour would be to consider having the driver/tour guide use a microphone even though there were only 4 of us in the minivan. With the A/C blasting it was difficult to hear the commentary, and we wanted to hear what our knowledgeable guide had to say.

Dear customer, thank you very much for your review. Our minivan tour in Chianti area is a great tour and we are glad you can confirm it. Also, thank you for your advice about the A/C and the microphone for the driver, we won't waste it! Kind regards, ACCORD Team

Let me preempt with our guide Daniele was amazing. We did the first tasting but when we went to go to the main event (wine tasting at a winery at sunset) we kept driving, unpaved roads, and didn’t seem to be going anywhere. When we finally asked what was going on Daniele informed us they had changed wineries that day and he had never been there before and google maps wasn’t getting the job done and he did not know how to get there.

By then it was 8pm (we were expected to return at 9 and it’s an hour drive). We were car sick, it was dark, we didn’t feel safe in the roads and honestly we didn’t know if we would ever actually find it. Our guide asked us if we wanted to continue to try and find it or head back to Florence and the unanimous answer was we were all over it and ready to go back and we arrived back at 9pm, our original return time without having done the winery tour or sunset tasting.

We obviously requested a refund, we originally only asked for 50% because we do appreciate Daniele trying but the corporate office declined that claiming we got what we paid for. We’re now asking for a full refund and determined to fight for it largely because they have been so difficult about it, when it is in fact their fault. If they would have just given the refund instead of being rude about it and refusing we would have given a decent review but the people who own/ run this tour are incredibly rude and have zero customer service.

The tour was quite expesivie. It started out in Grieve at the their famous butcher shop. A must see for the town. That being said sampling wine out of coin operated machine. SShhhessss not good. Next was a fabulous visit to a small family owned winery. Totally enjoyed it and the owners who made us feel most welcome and it was a great and actually saved the night. We opted for the dinner which was good, and the setting was beautiful. But not worth the extra pi]price they charged. The tour guides were very good and very pleasant youn ladies. I think this is a new tour and has kinks, they are trying, but a long way to go.

Thank you for your feedback, it is important to us to improve our service as clients satisfaction is our priority. The shop in Greve in Chianti is a must for people visiting Chianti, might not be a popular choice their wine tasting method, however they also give a choice of typical food products that other wineries wouldn't have. We are glad that you enjoyed the second part of the tour and the wine tasting at the second winery and as you had a good time and the tour guide was good and pleasant as you mentioned, also you liked the dinner, so we think that you have been very straight in rating us with a 2 stars. Moreover this tour is one of our besties, very popular and takes always very good reviews. Sorry to hear that it didn't impress you, but normally our custumers love this experience!

Our dinner was cancelled ahead of time & refund received. Fair enough. However the tour was so basic that I feel our guide / driver really didn't know much & had probably been brought in after doing a stint at some museum. The vigneron was informative - quite the best part of the tour as he gave us a thorough understanding of his winery. We had one plate of reasonable food shared by around 14 people however the wine tasting was generous as we sampled many, many wines. Then for some unknown reason the second part of the tour took us to a wine bar where we were given tickets to purchase wine via an automatic vending machine - no information, description - just use the $5 card & taste different varieties. Most people handed back cards with credits still on after sampling some non descript wines. Disappointing - this could have been a really good tour if the organizers knew what they were doing.

Pro's: Nice host who spoke excellent English, informative tour to the way to the winery, pretty views, tasty wine

Con's: a little too intimate for me (only four people), first winery wasn't as informative as I would have hoped for, I had to ask a lot of questions. The second stop was not a true winery in Greve but a store that sold wine tastings out of a vending machine by an electronic card. I would have hoped from something a little more authentic.

My wife and I recently went on this tour after struggling to find something to fit in well with our tight itinerary.

We were collected in a comfortable van and taken to the local town of Greve where we visited a local butcher/delicatessen. The shop was great but the wine tasting here was not. We were given a €5 card to use on machines that dispensed the wine in three different size serves. There were limits on what wines we could try within our €5 cap and we didn't get to hear all the background information of the wines we did try. There was also limited snacks to go around the number of persons there. These were my only criticisms.

The remainder of the tour was fantastic. We met a local grower Maurizio who showed us through his vineyard and olive grove set into the Chianti hills. He took us through his olive oil and wine making processes and then we sat down for a tasting of his wines matched with local produce. He was clearly passionate about what he did and this made for a great atmosphere. It was also a picturesque location and it just felt homely. We then travelled to a local restaurant overlooking the sunset for a lovely dinner.

Overall I would recommend the tour if you, like us, are restricted for time and need to pack in as much as you can.

We have booked this tour well in advance, with great expectation. Unfortunately the tour was very poor. The car was an old fiat, not very comfortable, fully packed with persons, not even water was offered (Standard in most tours). The first stop was in Greve in Chianti - at the Macellaria Falorni - interesting shop, but only with Automatik vine dispensers(we have got a small credit from the tour guide).
After that we went to a very small and simple vine yard - were we had a reasonable vine tasting. Everything very simple and low budget at seamed to me.
In fact, ist was the poorest vine tour I had so far in years!
Not recommendable.

Thank you for your review that even is not very soft we appreciate as it helps us to understand some aspects of our tour. Bear in mind that we always receive for our Chianti at Sunset tour very good reviews and lovely comments, therefore we were very surprised when we read your feedback. Regarding your point of view of poor quality and low budget service, please remember that this is a regular tour with a very affordable price. It is the right compromise between quality and cost. The car might be not a new model, however we have different models of minivan available and they are always clean and tidy. All our partners are very good and appreciated in this market. We hope we will have another occasion to demonstrate you our quality and professionality if you will come to visit our beautiful region again!
