- 156liamv0 contributionsMisleading advertising and a middling service. The locations visited were stunning, however this trip is only worth it for the wine and lunch portion. They advertise Monteriggoni and fail to mention until the fine print that they do not go throughout the year. There are better tours, or even DIY options that are a better experience and better value than this tour. This tour is a glorified bus service with a nice lunch and wine tour stitched onWritten March 22, 2025
- RochitaChowdhury0 contributionsGroup tour San Gimignano Chianti hills and SiennaIt was a pleasant experience with Sandro. We visited San Gimignano, Sienna and Chianti hills for wine tasting. Great experience! Be sure to purchase the Pisa + Tower experience. This company has three different services: a bus ride to Pisa, ride to and tour of Pisa, and lastly a ride, tour, and ticket to walk up the tower. We loved our tour and the chance to walk to the top of the tower. The ride from Florence to Pisa is about 1.5 hours. So from beginning to end it is about a 5 hours long (that includes bus to Pisa, walk to the city square, tour, tower climb, leisure time, walk back to bus, ride back to meeting point in Florence). Something I would like to say is they are VERY PUNCTUAL. Everything happens exactly when they say it will. There was a couple who was late to meet back with the group when heading home, so we left without them. This couple most likely had to find an Uber or train to get home.

This was a fantastic tour. We stayed in Florence so wanted something that would get us back and forth to Pisa and give us some more info about the countryside and Pisa too. This was the right choice. Our guide on the bus (Sara) and our driver (Rafaello) were both great. Sara had a lot of great informatoin on the surrounding countryside and some good preparatory info for when we got to Pisa. At Pisa Sara handed us off to another local guide (another Sara!!) who took us through the tour info for the cathedral, baptistry, the leaning tower and the other buildings and sites in the area. She had a ton of information and pointed out some unique things with some great and often humourous stories added. This skip the lines ticket to go up the tower made things really easy and there was plenty of time to wander the grounds and see more detail, take pictures, buy souvenirs etc. made for a great day and a superb experience. Glad we booked this tour, well worth it.

Delightful afternoon visit to Pisa. Seeing the Leaning Tower & the cathedral on a perfect day was excellent. The bus was fine, and the guides very good. But traffic coming back was heavy an time consuming. Suspect you could take a train from Florence & cabs in Pisa for about the same price or less. And understand it’s 250 steps to the top & same coming down- not for everyone!

The whole experience was poor.
The coach journey is almost 2 hours each way during which time i was forbidden to use the onboard toilet which was kept locked.
The co-ordinator at the pick up point was not wearing any identifying uniform.
No information was requested about Covid or proof of vaccination.
The on board guide arrived late and offered little information on route.
Upon arriving at the coach park in PISA we were speed marched to the meeting point we nearly lost the guide several times as my partner cannot speed march for medical reasons. Another couple did lose the guide completely and were furious.
The local guide who we met in Pisa was excellent however but timings were too tight and it was all very rushed.
You have to check all your bags and rucksacks into a cloakroom and your ticket entry time is set ,you go in at a set time as a group. There are 251 steps to the top and the tower climb is not recommended for those with Cardiovascular or muscular disorders.
We were told we needed to be back at the meeting point for 5.15pm then it was changed to 5.00pm . In the end we made our own way back earlier as we decided not to climb the tower and could not face another speed march to return to the coach.

This was on of my favorite and most fun tours! Its a whole day tour basically so i recommend you do not book anything after as you usually get in at 7pm. Pisa was so beautiful! I recommend going up the tower and enjoying the free time to take photos of yourself with the tower. tip- the best place is in the middle gardens, front of tower, lean your phone up from the ground & set a timer!

An excellent trip. Just enough time to see Pisa. Vera was a knowledgeable and organized guide. Our driver was good as well. We were introduced to another guide who was an expert on the buildings and she gave us the historical background of the area. As with all these day trips it is important to get to the starting location at the recommended time or earlier since they depart on time.

This was the largest tour group I've ever been on (double decker coach) and, as such, most of the 'tour' was about logistics (times, groups, meeting points) rather than the insightful information I've come to expect and pay for. Pisa was definitely worth visiting, and seemed a pleasant town, although there wasn't time to to explore. With hindsight, it would have been better to get a train from Florence (which appears to take about the same amount of time) and book my own timed ticket for the tower (which is only €18 online). Being given tower tickets that coincided with the sunset was a treat, there just wasn't time to savour it because we had to rush back to meet the tour. Three hours travelling on the coach, 20 minutes to walk up and down the tower and take photos. All guides were polite and friendly though.

Organized trip. The reason for my five star review is Maria, our local guid at the Pisa who was awesome ! Very energetic and had a great knowledge and was a good storyteller. The tour guide on the bus had poor English and talked a lot with repetition, which was a bit annoying for the length of the bus ride.

Excellent afternoon tour. Bus journey to Pisa. The trip took approx 1hr 15. Comfy ride both ways. Assia was our guide who is very knowledge and patient
The guided tour was great by Riccardo he was funny and very informative. There was just about the right amount of time to climb the tower, visit the cathedral and grab some gelato.
Highly recommend if in Florence and want to see the leaning tower of pisa.

What is the arrival time back to Florence?
Written April 19, 2018
Can't remember exactly but it was about 7.30 pm or 8pm. It depends on the traffic which can be busy when you get to Florence. We went straight to a restaurant for an evening meal afterwards and I'm pretty sure that we were there about 8pm.
