The wine tasting costed approximately £39. We met at the bus station behind the train station in Florence. It is not easy to find the bus station and it is about a 5 to 10 minute walk from the train station. There are a number of tours going from the same place. If you approach the organisers at the bus station and tell them the tour you are on they will give a sticker with the tour name on it. You board the coach and journey to your first vineyard. The journey is approximately between 1 to 1½ hours depending on the Florence traffic. The vineyard is just outside Siena. The presenter explained throughout the journey what was going to happen and she also explained the history of different places. She was very informative and detailed. She also translated into Spanish for a few Spanish people on board. At the first vineyard we tested 5 wines, 1 white fizzy wine, 1 white, 1 dessert wine and 2 red wines. You start in the cellar with the fizzy wine which you are given the choice of dry or sweet. We then moved outside to sit at tables we then tested a white wine with bread and olive oil. We tested a red with cheese, the 2nd red was with meat and the dessert wine was served with an almond biscuit. Throughout the lady explained the different wines. We were then offered opportunity to purchase wine from the shop. We then boarded the coach to travel approximately 45 minutes to the next winery. We then got opportunity to visit the vineyard. The lady explained the process of making the wine. We then went indoors and were offered 4 red wines. There was a tray with cheese and meat but not as much as the first vineyard. You were offered opportunity to purchase wine at the end. The 2nd vineyard cost a lot more to purchase the wine. The first vineyard was a much more enjoyable experience. Having opportunity to sit down and have a wide variety of wine and something to eat with each wine allowed you to enjoy each wine individually. I would suggest that another vineyard like the first would make the experience even more enjoyable. We then traveled back to Florence which took approximately 1 hour. We arrived in Florence at 2pm.

Lovely tour to 2 wineries. Went to afternoon (2 pm) tour. Was surprised to see full big bus of people, not a single empty spot!
Both wineries in Toscana Chianti area. First one - Sant Appiano and second - Tenuta Torchiano. First winery showed us their cellar with lots of oak barrels, then was wine tasting with some food.
Do not expect lot's of food during wine tasting, so try to pair provided cheese, bread and salami with recommended wines. At the end of the first testing we had plenty of time to visit shop and buy/order things. And of course to take lots of pictures.
Second winery was little bit more entertaining, they showed us how to drink wine in a right way (with lots of jokes). They also provided for testing their amazing truffle olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
After tasting was also enough time for pictures and walk around winery. They produce Chianti Classico, so you can see a statue of black rooster - trademark of Chianti Classico and lots of live ones.

This is a well guided and fantastic wine tasting experience. From Florence it is an easy 1 hour trip to the first vineyard. We were given a tour of the facilities and then tasted the harvest of the vineyard.
Returning to the a/c bus we drove about 20 minutes to a different vineyard to taste 5 wines and different olive oils.
At about $100 per couple this was good value for money.

Must plan and book ahead of time. Total trip time about 5 hours.

The tour was not well planned. In the first winery we were put in a room very full of people with no place to sit and had to squeeze to get access to the only plate of appetizers and queue again for each glass of wine in the tasting. The second winery was very far from the first, which made us spend more time in the bus than in the actual tour (we only stopped once very quickly for scenery views) and once arrived in the second winery were told we were very late and the tour would need to be speed up. Finally, this winery's owner was quite disrespectful with lots of sexist jokes and his speech was mostly about how to buy/ship the wine rather than talking about how the wine is produced, the grape types and interesting facts about their products. One of the waitresses was also throwing the wine in the glass in such a careless way that it was even spilling it all over the table. Would not recommend it!

I would give this tour zero rating if it were possible. I am requesting a full refund for the horrible experience we had last week. The tour operator hung up the phone on me while we were still on the tour. I have not received a reply from them after emailing them twice.

First the directions to get to the tour meeting place were awful. We wouldn’t have found it all if we hadn’t run into another group of people looking for the same tour. Once on board it was fine through the first vineyard. Until a severe storm came out of nowhere. We were forced by the tour guide to run through a torrent of rain, lightening and hail the size of chickpeas! The water rushing down a set of slate stairs was over my shoes. Then we had to run up a hill to the bus because it couldn’t reach the actual vineyard building. We were so far from civilization that we didn’t have any other option to get back to Florence so we had to comply. It was dangerous and irresponsible of that guide to insist we do this. Had we waited 1/2 an hour it would have passed. We were literally wringing our cloths out on the bus. It was horrible and as I said extremely dangerous. I am a 60 year old woman and I don’t feel that being forced to run through a storm is reasonable or acceptable. We as
Lso did not get everything advertised in the tour. As I have been unable to get a response from the tour company by phone or email. I would never recommend them to anyone. And while I realize that they have no control over weather. They absolutely had a choice to wait out the storm. You could see on the radar on our phones that it was moving quickly. It was clear 30 minutes later.

We took this half day tour because we wanted to experience the countryside of Tuscany and taste some of the wines for which the region is famous. The tour went at a perfect pace. It felt like we saw a lot but in a relaxed fashion. The tour guide Anna was excellent. She was very friendly and impressively multilingual. We learned a lot about the Chianti region, including facts about the area’s history and about the wines that are grown there. Anna accommodated the many different age ranges of the people on the bus and made it a very pleasant experience. The driver, Gabriel, expertly navigated the roads up the hillsides and was also very friendly to everyone. The bus itself was also extremely comfortable and had a great name - Giotto Bus! I’m really glad we were able to find this tour.

This tour was great value for money - a trip into the beautiful Tusacan countryside, with visits to 2 wineries tasting 5 different wines in each (accompanied by bread, cheese and cold cuts).

I particularly enjoyed the smaller family run vineyard, where we were given a tour of the cellar and a talk on the wine making process. The second, larger winery was a much more commercial operation. Still good fun though!

Very happy with the experience
The driver drove smoothly, I think his name is Carmen or something
The guide , Jacobo, was very professional, never sat down, never drank, just made sure we were all ok. Spoke English, Italian, French and possibly more….
We were also lucky with the weather and the company. Everyone was in a good mood yet no one was loud . Very smooth experience

I was going to do this trip with my mum who is 91 years of age. We had great difficulty in finding the pick up point, so I contacted the tour company and explained this and they then gave me directions - however it was extremely hot and my mum was finding this very hard going due to the heat, which I also explained to the tour company. We eventually approached the departure point, but time was ticking on, so I perched mum underneath a tree and I ran on and explained to the gentleman who was checking everyone on board to the coach

The first winery was pretty basic. Just a tasting of 3 wines. The village that we stopped in was sort of a weird stop because all of the shops and restaurants were closed. The 2nd winery was definitrly the best part with the tasting and the food. Overall, I would say it was worth it.
