About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Michael P0 contributionsGreat class, great food and wineThe vineyard and winery were beautiful. The woman (Alexa) who drove the van and led the cooking class was friendly, knowledgeable, and a great Italian cook. She made the experience really relaxed and fun. It was actually some of the best pasta we tasted in Italy. This is not an in depth wine tasting but more of a fun cooking experience with wine served with the lunch we all made. It is only a 35 minute drive from Florence to the amazing countryside. This is a great way to maximize 4-5 hours to cook, eat, drink wine, and see an authentic Tuscan villa and winery.Written September 14, 2024
- debsiler780 contributionsAwesome experienceThis truly was a highlight of our trip to Florence! We went to a beautiful family winery. We were given a tour of the wine cellar by Luca. He was so knowledgeable and did an excellent job in explaining and teaching about the wines. Then we went to the kitchen with Alexa. She did an amazing job. We made and rolled the pasta, made the sauce, and the tiramisu for dessert. Then we sat down and enjoyed the meal we made. We could not have had a better teacher than Alexa. This experience exceeded our expectations!Written September 5, 2024
- X6928OOlaurak0 contributionsSunset Tuscany Cycle Vespa + Vineyard TourOur sunset Vespa and winery tour with Dejan was fabulous! Tuscany Cycle took great care with the Vespa trial and guided ride through the breathtaking countryside. We enjoyed the tour with Simone and tasting at Fattoria San Pancrazio. The sunset and views from Piazzale Michelangelo were a great ending to an incredible late afternoon Vespa tour. Thanks, Dejan!!Written July 19, 2024
- Rog3430 contributionsAmazing experience in a picturesque setting, not to be missed.Without a doubt this was our favourite experience in Tuscany. My husband and I thought it looked like fun,we couldn’t have known how much fun it would be. We met up with a group of people doing a couple of other activities ( wine tasting,Vespa tour) at Tuscany Cycle in Florence and were transferred by van to an exquisite vineyard outside the city. Alexa & ? I’m afraid I don’t recall the wine connoisseurs name. Both of these folks were friendly and kind hosts, not to mention extremely knowledgeable. The setting is right out of a movie. We saw the ancient wine cellar and the vineyard, then started our cooking class. That day it was just the 2 of us with Alexa. Reading other reviews here makes me laugh when people think because Alexa isn’t some older Italian grandma, that she doesn’t know what she’s doing. I’m here to tell you she’s a great teacher/cook. We made a meat ragu, Papparadelle pasta and tiramisu all from scratch. The wine was poured when we arrived in the kitchen and we were invited to enjoy as much as we liked. Alexa gave us lots of tips on what to look for when buying ingredients back home and answered all our questions. She was patient and kind and when we were finished preparing the food, we sat at a table overlooking the incredible scenery and enjoyed the fruit of our labour. It was perfect! After that I received the recipes from Alexa by email so we can reproduce the dishes at home. Thank you Alexa for the lovely memories, your a legend!Written April 14, 2024
- stacyjill0 contributionsBest Vespa Adventure EverWow. Can’t recommend this tour enough. We had a work trip in Rome so and were able to take a day trip to Florence. Dejan and his team made it seamless for us. They picked us up from the train station for a short trip to a vineyard to start our Vespa adventure. Safely was of utmost importance. The tour guide Dejan was so funny and charming! Since I wasn’t planning to drive the Vespa I got to be Dejan’s passenger. On our Vespa trip the tour guides even stopped at a beautiful vineyard view for our to pose for glamour posed photos with her team. We ended the trip with a light meal at the vineyard. Don’t miss this tour if you are in the Rome or Florence area! Was a true highlight of our trip.Written February 17, 2024
- Joli S0 contributionsAmazing views! This is such a fun/unique activity to do if you want to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city! However If you or someone in your party don’t have some motorcycle or driving experience this is not the tour for you! Dejan who was leading the Vespa tour was the absolute best! Hilarious and such a fun time. Afterwards Luca gave a tour of a family owned winery. It was such a fun experience and was the highlight of our vacation!Written October 23, 2023

- Flyer098141874920 contributionsBad luck with bad weatherThe tour was called off due to bad weather. We were parked in a room and got some wine. Guides spent like 10 min with the group. The refund policy was disappointing and they did not offer the chance to rebook. It seemed like they did not really care.Written June 2, 2023
- RonStal0 contributionsGreat tour. Wonderful hostess.A drive through the stunning Tuscany countryside in a comfortable minivan took us to the wonderful winery of San Pangrazio. We arrived to be greeted by our hostess who provided a brief history of the winery and then a personal tour of the cellars and the vines. Her knowledge of local winemaking challenges and idiosyncrasies was extensive and provided for a most interesting conversation with comparisons to Australia’s situations. There followed a tasting of the winery’s products, including a delicious olive oil, with appropriate commentary and conversation. The wines were delicious and the accompanying lunch excellent.Written April 23, 2023
- krystiner20230 contributionsExcellent Customer Service and ExperienceWe had an amazing day with Dejan. He was a fantastic guide who really cares about his clients and works to maintain their safety. Don't get your feelings hurt I'd you can't ride the Vespa. It's tough and the roads are windy. Trust that he knows who can and can't do it. The winery and vineyards are stunning. Food and wine tasting was delightful! Do not miss your chance to do a Vespa Tour through the rolling hills of Tuscany!Written March 18, 2023

It actually rained when I went and I'm writing this review damn near a year later. That is how much fun we had, I'm sure I lost 5lbs from laughing with Dejan! You cannot go wrong. - robertbY5382DF0 contributionsGreat overall experienceThe experience was excellent in every way. The tour guide provides great service, knowledge, and was very friendly. The wine tasting lasted about 2 hours and the host was very knowledgeable and delightful. The lunch that followed was an authentic Italian lunch that was well prepared. All around it was an really great way to spend a day in Tuscany.Written November 15, 2022
- Charles B0 contributionsHighly RecommendedCannot say enough good things about this activity. Imagine tasting wine in a small winery above the Tuscan hills. A sommelier leads you through the wine tasting, helping you notice the differences between vintages and aging techniques. This is followed by a wonderful lunch. In addition, Tuscany Cycle is an excellent business, with approachable and occasionally hilarious guides. Highly recommended.Written October 13, 2022
- P4303IIpeterc0 contributionsHilly Roads with Vehicle TrafficI have some good and not so good things to say about the bicycle tour. Good Maurizio, our bike group leader, was friendly and helpful. The winery tour with Francesco at the start (before the bike tour) was good – it was interesting to see the Etruscan grain storage containers discovered during the excavation. The lunch after the bike tour was good. Not so Good The pictures on the bike tour section of the website show flat, quiet roads – one looks like an untraveled farm road. The tour is in fact on hilly roads with traffic. It was not dangerous but was not the type of relaxing cycling environment shown in the pictures. Had I known what type of roads were involved I wouldn’t have booked the tour. Also, if you are not used to cycling up hills don’t book this tour. The TuscanyCycle owner (Dejan, I think) gave a safety talk at the outset of the tour but then I discovered, after we started, that the right hand (rear wheel) brake on my bike did not fully grip the wheel, even when fully engaged. I had to rely on the left hand (front wheel) brake. This is an unsafe situation when going downhill. Maurizio kindly switched bikes with me when I alerted him to this problem but it was still concerning. Dejan and his crew have plenty of time every day, while people are having lunch, to make any necessary adjustments to the bikes so why wouldn’t they attend to basic safety items?Written September 30, 2022

We booked the Vespa tour at a cost of almost $300. There was a winery piece included but we don’t drink so we were obviously less interested in that.
My frustration is because we were told that we would receive training on how to use the Vespa. We had never used a Vespa before but we’re excited to try it and i have over 20 years of driving experience (driving international, manual transmission cars ) so figured this should be pretty easy.
As far as the “training” It was a five minute tutorial followed by less than two minutes on the actual Vespa before we “failed” The driving test and we’re told that we would have to remain at the vineyard. Now, I am all for safety so that’s not my issue here. But when I take issue with a tour and is positioned as a tour that will teach me something, then gives me less than 10 minutes of training and usage of the Vespa - that is not an acceptable proposition.
Each person should have been given a minimum of 10 minutes to try the Vespa and get comfortable with it instead of the two small laps around the parking lot. I don’t know anyone who could feel comfortable driving with that type of “training.”
This left us paying $300 for a winery tour and again, we don’t drink. When I asked Alexa, our tour guide, if they provide any refund for people who do not get to go on the Vespa, she very loudly told me that it was “NO REFUNDS! You took up a spot on the bus!”
She purposely said this very loudly in front of every other guest because I’m sure she anticipated them asking as well, but I found this to be very unprofessional and certainly not in the spirit of customer service.
At the very least they could have refunded me the 20 Euros I paid for the insurance for the Vespa I didn't drive. Either way, that did not happen.
Overall, I would not recommend this tour if you have not driven one of these before. You’ll just end up paying for a winery tour instead. As a note there were 16 or 18 of us on the tour and only four people passed their “test.” Most of them had experience on a motorcycle.
So, at the end of the day, I feel as though I was taken advantage of and certainly not provided actual appropriate training on how to use the equipment properly nor the time to get comfortable with it. The other guide (on my very first lap around the parking lot) yelled at me that “the Vespa was driving me”
I know! It is truly shocking that in my first 15 seconds on a Vespa I didn’t know how to drive it!? :(
For a point of reference, my daughters six week drivers ed class was $250 and this was $300, so the training surely should have been more robust.
Perhaps this tour is good for people who have written before but in my opinion, you can’t sell people a Vespa tour with training, and then just give them a winery tour expect them to be happy about it after spending $300.
I also note that quite a number of the reviews of this company are people who have only made one contribution to tripadvisor/google and it is a 5 star review of this company, which should have been a red flag.

Similar to other reviews (which I wish I had read before booking) do not do this tour if you do not feel 100% confident that you would be able to ride a Vespa.
There is no training on how to use the Vespa. The practice time consists of a 2 minute test around a stone and gravel area and it is in front of the rest of the group which puts more pressure and nervousness to the situation. Quite a few in the group ended up not being able to ride the Vespa due to failing the practice when they (and myself) had paid the €120 each in advance which was a shame. We also had to pay an extra €20 for insurance when we got there (which we think was definitely a con) and when one member of the group took pictures of the Vespa for scratches before hand he was mocked by the guide for doing so. One of the guides was lovely but was overshadowed by the other who shouted and talked down to the customers
The views were incredible and the food and wine were delicious. We were also lucky that we had a great group to chat to during the family style meal. A positive experience but would not recommend if you do not have basic motorbike or Vespa experience as they will not accommodate you.

Hey Victoria,
This is Dejan, the owner of this company and I was there with you. Thank you that reviewed your driving skills on our page, the rest of the experience looks like you had some fun :) :)
Seems like you don't care that much but we take your safety very seriously.

Dejan is the best tour guide I've had. He's enthusiastic and treated us like true friends. We booked our tour off-peak which meant we ended up having a private experience (just myself and my girlfriend). After a 30 minute ride out of the city and a tour around the winery, he gave us a helpful crash course with the vespa's and away we went!
The food & wine host was also excellent, he walked us around the venue, lead us down excavated steps into rooms built centuries ago. The wine cellar was very impressive and we learnt a lot. He's also a great cook!
Both guides were very friendly, I wish I could've stayed longer. We wanted a fun adventure away from Florence and they delivered, I recommend this tour to anybody interested in having some fun, good conversation, food & wine in the beautiful countryside around Florence.

We opted for the Sunset ride; this was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get out of the city and see the famous Tuscan countryside in an organized fashion. The guide made sure we could safely drive the vespas beforehand and was very purposeful at directing traffic to help us navigate the countryside safely and efficiently. We stopped along the way to taste some grapes (yum!) and after an excellent tour we sat down for a classic and delicious Tuscan meal. Wonderful guide and wonderful experience, I highly recommend as the best way to see the true Tuscany.

100% would recommend! Dejan really knew how to tailor his tour style depending on the passengers, and made the entire day so so enjoyable. We were two girls in our 20’s, so he gave the tour a super relaxed and local feel, with a lot of jokes and nothing too serious (which is 100% our vibe). There’s not one thing I would change about this tour. 10/10 would do again!!

This was an absolutely wonderful experience. The chaperones are very knowledgeable and helpful. Their number one goal is safety on the Vespas and second is to have a good time. They did a thorough training session after a brief tour of a top tier Tuscan wine maker. Some people simply cannot ride a Vespa, because they have a combination of zero experience on two wheel vehicles and also poor hand-eye coordination. Turning can be difficult sometimes. There will be a small handful of cars on the roads and some curvy turns. We paid extra for a private ride, but one of their vans were dysfunctional, so we joined a shared trip with a slight refund.
The chaperones will start the ride slowly and gauge peoples abilities and then split the group between the two of them. One group is for accelerated drivers to be able to go faster and really test the power of the Vespas, people who can ride. The other group is going to be more safely monitored and yet you still get look around in awe at the breath taking beauty of the Tuscan countryside. Some people simply cannot drive Vespa's...
For a hot summer/spring day, this is a perfect way to experience Tuscany without standing around in the humidity for hours at a vineyard or something else.

This experience was everything we could have hoped for! Alex was such an amazing guide; he was funny, knowledgeable, and very kind. He taught us a lot about the region, its wine and olive oil, and some interesting facts we didn't know, and as a plus, he has some amazing, hilarious stories. We felt very safe on the Vespas with his instruction and leadership even though we had never been on a Vespa in our lives! The winery tour was very interesting as well, and we learned a lot about how to properly taste wine, and what makes a good one (spoiler alert: there were many). I highly recommend going on the off-season because having a small tour group was key to making this experience as special as it was (we went in late November and had 4 people total in our group.) Alex, thank you so much for making our time in Florence special!

It was so easy to get this tour rescheduled when weather impacted our plans. We absolutely loved riding the Vespa, although it was a lot more difficult than we expected! I was glad we were able to double up, and being a passenger made it easier to take in the amazing views. Dejan was so nice and made us feel very safe on our ride.
The food and wine was incredible, our group was so fun, and it was great to get some history about the property and information about wine making. We were able to ship 6 or 12 bottles home to the US at a reasonable rate.
Cannot recommend this enough!

Fantastic experience! Dejan is the host(ess) with the most(ess) and even turned up to run this trip when we were the only couple booked (due to impact of COVID). So, we had a personal experience including a Vespa tour of the truly breathtaking Tuscan countryside, followed by a unique wine tasting and lunch experience with Francesco Bing, wine producer of probably the best Chianti we have ever slurped! All in all, an absolutely amazing day with great hosts (not to mention Francesco wife (to be) who is a great cook!). Dejan is a great entertainer who takes care of every detail to ensure the experience is second to none. He even took us to the best viewpoint of Florence on the way back and dropped us off at the Uffizi Gallery, just in time for our booked slot. Great guy, safe Vespas, beautiful winery - all that Florence has to offer!

Experience was great! Travelled about 30 minutes outside of Florence to a Tuscany family run winery. We got a tour of the winery first. Next we practiced on the vespas and did about an hour Vespa ride throughout the Tuscany hills. We came back to snacks (cheese, meat, bread, olive oil) and some wine tastings from the family winery. We only got 2 bottles of wine to share among 11 people, which only equalled to about 2 very small glasses of wine each. (Giving one less star because would have liked to have a bit more wine with the price you pay for the tour). Otherwise, was super fun and riding a Vespa in Italy is a must!

We still paid the same price. They give a drivers test and if you don’t pass, you automatically go on back. You still get all aspects of the event. Tour, wine tasting and a Vespa ride.
