About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Pocapaglia0 contributionsA great day just outside PalermoWe went to Segesta , Erice and the Salt Pans . A truly beautiful experience . Sergio , our driver made our experience even more enjoyable ! A kind man and competent driver , full of interesting facts and suggestions for our stay in Palermo . Thank you Sergio! A day tour we would truly suggest !Written November 10, 2024

- rone4540 contributionsBus Ride out and backIt does not specify under Not Included: entry fees for Segesta. Effectively, this is a bus coach ride to Segesta, then to Erice, and back. Not sure that's worth $75EU. There wasn't much history or detailed explanation on the bus, but perhaps there not much to say. There were 5 different languages in our group - listening to all the info repeated that many times is a bit tiring. Erice: if you eat a meal (you need to by that point), leaves you with about 1h to explore. Segesta: a temple and a theater (if you've seen those before anywhere in Italy or Greece, it's not different or more impressive) and that's it, the rest is rubble. The salt pans is a 15min roadside get out at look at some water and piles of salt.Written November 3, 2024
- DayTrip551284844860 contributionsNever picked up for tourDriver never showed up or contacted us. We tried calling the number listed 15 minutes after our pick up time no answer and no response. We contacted Viator and they said supplier reached out to them the next day and said we never showed up. We never received anything from them prior to the tour saying we were suppsoed to meet somewhere other than our hotel.Written October 7, 2024
- jeantI7787HD0 contributionsWould do it differentlyLot of confusion at start of trip, no communication re delay … finally set off 15 mins late. Tour booked for English spoken driver etc. didn’t happen… one Italian family was given (seemingly) info during tour but nil in English. Segesta disappointing as mainly ruins/ nil structures; Trapani salt pans possibly 15 minutes; Erice would benefit from more time to explore.Written September 2, 2024
- joekA6620JV0 contributionsThe Real Life Mafia Extortion ExperienceBooked this expecting some sort of excitement or bewilderment of travelling to the infamous village of Corleone but lacked both. For 77 dollars, you'd expect more for what you get, I booked for a 9am pick up at my hotel it was 9:15 when I gave up and went back into my room thinking I'd been scammed, I'm supposed to be relaxing now stressing why my excursion wasn't going to plan. Eventually 9:25 I get a call to say the driver had arrived from my reception, so I Eventually get on my way. Reckless driving straight off the bat, swerving into the middle of the road, again not relaxed one bit. Eventually we get to Corleone, looks very nice and was really excited to travel there to get pictures. Straight into the tour which wasn't all bad, it just wasn't exciting at all and for someone who is fascinated into Mafia history was very boring walking round a half empty house. Finally the tour came to an end, again no communication from drivers/organisers what the plan would be afterwards, I was assuming we'd be allowed to walk around the town for at least 30 mins but no we were found after 15 mins by the driver, leading us back to the Van to go to the next stop. Ah so 40 mins in Corleone 2 hours driving to and from doesn't really cut it for a 'Half day trip TO Corleone'. On the positive side, at least I met some lovely people on the trip, we bonded over the same opinion of wasting 77 dollars. So thank you for that. Typical tourist trap, avoid ! OR hire a car/drive yourself probably cheaper and get to see the beautiful town.Written August 16, 2024
- hayleymix0 contributionsNo show last minute cancel of this event. Was very much looking forward to this confirmed trip. Called what’s apped emailed 3 times to confirm pick up. No reply. Was ready for excursion in lobby no one showed and at 2 min prior to start someone cancelled this excursion. Poor communication. No adventure. No follow up for last minute cancellation. Your excursion won’t happen if you book this. Disappointing.Written June 11, 2024
- SuePowell20130 contributionsUnable to recommendThis is basically just a transfer between sites. When we bought the tickets it said there was hotel pick up but this was not the case with just the one meeting point. The road to Erice was closed because of a motor race. This would have been known in advance but was not communicated. We had to use the cable car to get there at our own expense of 8 Euros a person. Looking back through previous reviews I see this has happened before. There was not enough time at Segusta to fully appreciate the site, we are quite fit but still had to walk quickly and missed a few things because of timeWritten April 28, 2024
- chapmanmags20130 contributionsWonderful experienceWe had a great day with an amazing guide who gave us a lot of insight into the areas that we visited which were amazing..I gave a 4 because we were a bit disappointed with the salt pans in that we had 15 mins to take pictures etc. The day went smoothly and started and ended on timeWritten April 21, 2024
- DebiVentura_CA0 contributionsDisappointed but adequate. Would not recommend. We were told twice that our driver would pick us up outside holding a sign with our name on. This was far from what happened. We were exhausted from our 21 hour travel day looking forward to being picked up. We got a call as we were deplaning asking us where we were. The driver said he cannot meet us inside and we should look for him near the taxis. We finally found each other. I mentioned how I was told we would be greeted with a sign but he said parking is horrible there. What ever. I had to prepay $72.00 one way for the two of us with minimal luggage. We got to our hotel with a good recommendation for dinner which was the best part.Written February 24, 2024
- ecestafe0 contributionsA Trip for any visitor to PalermoFirst of all want to mention that this trip is well planed, allows enough time for visiting all attractions and has great staff! Our drivers made a big difference as they were excellent, knowledgeable and accommodating. I will take this trip again without thinking!Written November 20, 2023
- elnora3330 contributionsNot to be trustedThis operator is TOTALLY unreliable. He never showed up and when asked for him to refund my ticket price, he accused me of not being at the meeting point. What a scam artist and disappointment. The operator NEVER contacted me to say he would be late or was cancelling the excursion.Written October 3, 2023
- Renee S0 contributionsExcellent Day to Segesta, salt pans and EriceA Truly great experience, Silvio was wonderful, everything was clearly explained (as far as logistics which is important when on a multiple location excursion). Only thing I would tell differently is that if you choose to walk up the mountain to the amphitheater it’s 25min, not 15 (we are fit people and this was pretty tough especially in the heat). So take the shuttle if you don’t want to tough it out like we did. And … wear sensible shoes!! we were so happy to have our good walking shoes on! FYI Erice is also massively uphill!Written September 11, 2023

The tour is actually just the transfers to and from Agrigento. Very little information given on the site itself. A map or leaflet would have been helpful in navigating the site. Unfortunately I was not aware it was at least 5km of walking minimum, mostly in full sun. There is also stairs and uneven walking surfaces.
We stopped to buy lunch to eat at the site but the options are extremely limited if you don't eat meat. There 1 was one vegetarian option, no vegan. The vegetarian option sold out extremely quickly as there was only 5 Available to start with. We stayed there for longer than what felt necessary.
The drop off and pick up points are in good locations so you are walking down through the site instead of up. The driver was extremely friendly and seemed to enjoy his job and talking about the Sicilian country side.
It is a long drive to the site but at least the coach was air conditioned (although sometimes the driver would turn it off and roll down his window instead). It made for a long day. The return trip was a little unpleasant due to discussions about politics, plus the fact it had been so hot during the day people were hot and sweaty.
Overall, its not a bad trip and the driver was friendly but more information should have been given. Walking without stops and following the direct path I had about 40 mins to spare from the time allocated, which is not very long if you want to explore further or in depth.
There was only 1 cafe/restaurant within the grounds which is nearer to the top. However, there is potable water taps scattered about the site. There is also an overpriced cafe after you exit the site at the pick up location.

Dear Costumer,
Thank you for your ridiculous review.
1) On this tour is not included a guide
2) meals are not included so , if you are vegetarian, you should bring your meals just in case.
3) the Valley of the temples is 1.4 km and not 5.
4) If costumers talks about politics with the driver , this one for education will answer .
Thank you anyway to make the difference in this boring world .
I Wish you all the best
Warmly
Michael

As the "tour" title suggests we did not stop in Agrigento but we were just taken to the Valley of the Temples by minibus. The Valley of the Temples is fabulous (hence the rating). We had 2 hours before we had to meet the driver again but we had to queue for approx 30 mins for entrance tickets and therefore were quite rushed. I think it would be a good idea if the entrance tickets were prepaid and the group could bypass the queue (as others were doing).

I was a little disappointed by the lack of engagement from our very personable guide. We had been told that we would receive a booklet and a map on arriving at the Valley of the Temples. It was slightly chaotic at the ticket office. Our guide was certainly not responsible for that and he did a great job of making recommendations at our morning tea stop. At the gate I was rather surprised to not not receive anything but to find that it was highly recommended that we pay 5 Euros per person (the amount was not a problem). No booklet, no map, We were just handed over to a guide. She was perfectly good despite having to translate for two language groups - Italian and English. At the end of the day I felt that we had a driver, not a guide.

Recommended tour for those like me who travel alone and do not want to rent a car or extricate themselves by public transport from Palermo.
In the valley of the temples you have two hours: perfect for a quick tour without dwelling too much at each temple, reading the signs and especially in the sun and heat. Stop for a few minutes at the Turkish ladder to take pictures.
Guide (Silvio) who speaks multiple languages perfectly.
N.B. Probably, given the number of members, we left with a big bus instead of the minivan provided at Reservation: maybe better, more comfort and space for everyone

The organisation of this trip was poor. Lack of details about meeting point resulted in us waiting at the bus station, the other side of Palermo. Although an email has been sent at after 10 pm the night before I did not receive this in time for the tour had to pay for a taxi to get us to the meeting point.
No information was given about the purchase of tickets ie that we should do this in advance which resulted in a 40 minute wait to buy a ticket out of a two hour visit. Neither was information given about the difficulty of the walk and the availability of a shuttle to help people who need assistance.
However the place is phenomenal, and the driver and host were very helpful and amicable.

It was a nice trip, the car was comfortable and the driver is a 10/10. He was punctual, patient and try to show us as much as he can. He explained everything very well and even took us for a nice orange juice. I would recommend him.

I need to put the record straight, it's a bus ride that drops you off and brings you back. There are tour guides but they do not accompany you. The ride takes approx. 2.5hrs with a 30 mins stop that was nice, the café you stop at is chaotic. You do not visit Agrigento.
However do not let that put you off the service is good the driver very good, and it is worth the fee. It could be improved if they wanted too.

Smooth pick up and drop off, with good communication before as to where and what time. After listening to Paolo's excellent playlist and a quick stop for coffee and a toilet break we were dropped at one end of the temples and told to meet at the other end two hours later. This was the perfect amount of time in July: we took lots of pictures and had lunch and saw everything, but didn't have to wait in the heat at the end. We were dropped at the top, so the walk was downhill and we didn't have to double back on ourselves. We also stopped briefly at a viewpoint on the drive home.
Tips: we brought a packed lunch which was great because the cafe queue looked really long. Bring water and a hat because there is little shade, but there are places to refill your water bottles all along the route. Don't buy the audio guide there: this has to be dropped back off at the same place you pick it up from so doesn't work on this trip. The temples have an app which has the audioguide on it: use that and your own headphones. Finally if you are a teacher from the EU bring proof and you don't have to pay the entrance fee.

The trip and support from the driver was excellent. I dont give 5 starts because they were 3 hours late. However, the visit and trip was very good. A great way to visit the temples if you dont have much time. 1 hour to visit the main 3 temples is quite enough, because they dont allow you to enter the temples, just watching from outside.

Operator sent an email at 8pm the night before the trip explaining that the tubs driver won’t speak English with an option to cancel. I was on vacation and don’t check my email that often and missed it. Too short notice, they could have called.
The morning if the trip I never saw my bus come. I tried calling them but their *listed number doesn’t work at all*. They never called me either.
I submitted a refund request but they denied it, saying they showed up to some random hotel and I wasn’t there. I don’t remember putting any hotels information in as a pick up spot as I was staying in an Airbnb. They said because I wasn’t at the hotel I wouldn’t get a refund, despite the fact that they are Uncontactable and didn’t bother to ever call me. Extremely unprofessional.
