- 1118stephend0 contributionsRecommend highlyHad a wonderful street food tour with Alessandro! Good eats, insightful stories behind each delicacy, and he provided connection among us all, as well as humor. Would highly recommend him as he was clearly known to many of the street vendors and had stories of their backgrounds to tell. Grazie, Alessandro!Written January 3, 2025
- T6697DLjillm0 contributionsOutstanding Food TourAlessandro was an excellent guide, he gave us more than a culinary tour but immersed us in the culture of Palermo. He made us feel safe and comfortable in the markets. An excellent tour that we would highly recommend to others.Written January 3, 2025

- D1657BXelenas0 contributionsMarco set a high bar for food toursMy husband and I started out with no expectations for how the street food tour was going to go. Marco set the standard incredibly high for the rest of our trip. It was obvious that the vendors and him had a great relationship together and we got to try a bunch of things. We learned about how the city was built and how tourists might have the wrong perception of Palermo. The group dynamic was wonderful and added to the experience :) We would go back to Italy specifically to try another Streaty tour they offer in another city. We would recommend to those willing to try anything and everything in a new city.Written December 24, 2024

- A4077LLlaurenm0 contributionsGreat Way to Explore The City!My partner and I had a great time on our Night Food Tour in Palermo. We loved all the food we tried and it was such a good way to cover a lot of key foods around the city. What I LOVED was that we went to street stands that normally can be intimidating to try foods that I would never try on my own (like a spleen sandwich). I wish we had more time in Palermo to do more than one tour!Written October 22, 2024
- MaxHudson0 contributionsIn love with Palermo and its food.My second day in Palermo and taking this tour gave me so much information and feelings for this beautiful city. Our guide Marco looked after every one of us, making sure we were all included and fed us very well. He is a wonderful ambassador for his city. The food was amazing, the only possible complaint could be that it was so much! Highly recommend this tour because as a solo traveler it gave me a safe and fun way to walk around at night and see the local streets without getting lost.Written October 22, 2024

This Street Food-Tour was a fantastic experience! Marco is a real foodlover who knows how to create a great group dynamic and with his knowledge he gives an authentic insight into Parlemitan market life. His enthusiastic and funny nature made it even more exciting to listen to his interesting explanations about streetfood and Palermo itself. He took us to places where the Parlemitans still cooked according to original and traditional recipes and we also got a glimpse into the kitchen. Marco managed to make me fall in love with the city a little more and for the rest of my holiday I walked through the streets of Palermo with a different view. So if you want to experience what Sfincione, Sangue, Arancina (and a lot more) taste like and especially if you want to get to know the best Gelateria of the city, then I highly recommend this tour.

Walking through parts of Palermo's historic city center with Marco (owner and terrific tour guide) is like eating a delicious Sicilian meal with family: history, culture, stories, humor and wit. Instead of a pasta primi, it is street food from family owned businesses, with a secundi of a glass of "sangre" from the oldest pub in the city and a dessert of knowledge and laughs from a local expert.
Marco doesn't shy away from any topic. He truly loves his work, his city, the food and sharing it all with you. You could easily spend the same amount on a restaurant meal or indulge in a Streaty walking tour of Palermo. I highly recommend the latter. If you are still hungry after the tour, do the former.

Our guide, Angelo, was amazing! He was very passionate about Palermo and it’s street food tradition and it showed. He made us laugh the entire time and provided a good variety of experiences with types of food/drink and establishments. Would definitely recommend as the local foods are some of the best ways to experience the city.

An immersion into the Palermo market scene, this became the highlight experience for a 2 week family holiday vacation in Sicily. All travel shows watched in prep for the trip emphasized the energy and excitement of the Palermo street markets. This tour takes you into the heart of it explaining, selecting foods to sample you never would, going to one of the oldest bars in Palermo. In addition, a great lesson in the culture and history of the Sicilian people. We were fortunate enough to be led by the owner, Marco, and his knowledge, passion, enthusiasm, and humor was fantastic. A must do recommendation!

Our stroll through Palermo’s fresh markets and street food vendor community with Alessandra was worth every cent, minute and bite. Alessandra shared fascinating history and cultural insights, and makes us determined our first visit to Sicilia will not be our last. Grazie.

This is a wildly entertaining, charming introduction to Palermo's food culture and Sicilian eating. I know where to eat, what to eat and how to eat now that our guide has taught us how not to wander the markets like a lost and intimidated puppy. You get quite a bit of history and random street knowledge with this tour, and if you dig a little, you notice that Marco, the owner, is a go-to for foreign producers and chefs needing a guide for their travel and food shows.

One of the best tours we have ever done!
Angelo was extremely friendly, informative and fun. All of the food we tried was beautiful and the vendors we met along the way were very pleasant. It covered a large amount of the city and Angelo gave us great information not just about the food. Would highly recommend!!

This was an absolutely fantastic experience - the guide, Angelo, was very friendly and gave us a lot of helpful information and explained apt about the city as we went around.
We visited three markets in total and so it was almost a tour of Palermo city itself. The food was very enjoyable and varied, we were able to spend time at each location and did not feel rushed. The food vendors were also very friendly and approachable.
We were both very impressed and would absolutely recommend this tour to visitors!

Angelo was our guide for the tour and just to spend the day with him was worth the money. His warm and charismatic charm really enhanced and entire experience and you really felt safe exploring Palermo with him. Guiding us around the streets, stopping at different markets and local eateries really give us a taste of Palermo through the eyes of a local. Angelo was accommodating to my fiancé who is vegetarian and she didn't miss out on trying any items. Sights, food and history all in a few hours, I'd highly recommend this tour to anybody.

What kind of clothing should we wear in the middle of September in Palermo?
Clime?weather?
Written August 25, 2022
Should be warm at least in 60’s but take a light jacket

Is there a vegan option or if not a vegetarian one? Don’t mind being with meat/fish eaters but wanted to understand if there were non meat or fish samples to try
Written August 18, 2022
Vegan no, but vegetarian exists. While booking you can indicate that preference to Streaty. I did so. I was also contacted via email about it to confirm.
And while I think that what I don't eat is my own "problem" and don't expect others to go out of their way to accommodate me, Streaty was more than ready to work with the limitations.
Meaning: I was ready to just skip the food I couldn't eat, but our guide was always ready with a meatless alternative.

Please post when facemasks are not required for vaccinated tourists. I won't enjoy a food tour with a mask, especially in the heat. I'm going to Spain in a couple weeks & want to check out Palermo.

I want to book a food/walking tour in October - I am working in the day for a couple of days and then free. Am I better to take a day tour when I am not working - or an evening tour (which I can do after work and save time!). I love food tours, but do not want to miss any experiences of markets, just because I picked the wrong one! Are there major differences between the two? Thank you.

Some of the items simply are gluten free. Tasting the wine, meat etc does not require eating a gluten part.
