About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Curiosity7227060 contributionsFantastic Experience.Amazing views. The tour guide was very nice and very knowledgeable. Even provided Etna wine at the top! Didn't do much hiking but it was good to see all different landscapes of the volcano.Written October 1, 2024
- carparkman0 contributionsVery AverageEtna is spectacular and you get to hike for an hour or so at 2000 metres and see a lava cave. However the guides English was very accented and more or less impossible to understand for the most part (even if English is your 1st language). So much so we learnt very little particularly given all the complex vulconolgy spoken. The minibus was cramped, hot, full and very bouncy, so the ride up/down was very uncomfortable. They were 30 minutes late starting with conflicting reasons given. Little information given about the stops or availability of food/drink/toilet break etc. All in all very average and hardly worth £50 or soWritten September 19, 2024
- 808viviennei0 contributionsAn amazing experience!Words cannot describe how awesome this tour was! From the moment Daphne picked us up, until she dropped us off, we were amazed. Her knowledge of volcanoes, and particularly Etna was incredible. Daphne is a born teacher. My knee decided to give me trouble half way up and I was going to stop so I didn't hold the others up but Daphne was kind, caring and encouraged me to keep going at my pace. The others in the group were the same. I'm so glad we did this tour.... it was absolutely fascinating, and Daphne was a wonderful guide.Written September 17, 2024
- Michael M0 contributionsGreat trip, would highly recommendGreat guide great to be collected at hotel Lots of information Good pace and duration Dessert wine and biscotti on the craters edge an excellent surprise addition to the tripWritten September 15, 2024
- Koizumi760 contributionsWonderful experienceWhat a lovely tour! Our guide was everything - fun, friendly, informative and kind. We learned not only about Etna herself (Big Mama) but also found out plenty about its impact on surrounding communities 😊 The hike was simply spectacular (I'll let the pictures do the talking). No extra costs were involved.Written September 14, 2024
- Explorer361435913020 contributionsBad behaviorOtherwise was great, communication, timing, presentation was something that was hard to follow. Otherwise 3 but What happens paying, 118€ total, we gave 120€ and ask that do you have 2€ back. He said yes and Go to Office. Guide came back and was sorry, ”we are out of exchange” and gave 1€ coin. Next time I pay trip via internet.Written September 12, 2024
- Discover7738790 contributionsGreat experienceGreat trip. Collected us on time from our apartment and drove safely and gave us information and insight into the area. The trip included many photo opportunities plus an underground lava flow cave tour and an overground trek amongst the volcano craters. Maurizio was both enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.Written September 9, 2024
- 82_d_mk0 contributionsAmazing experience with beautiful views!Amazing tour! We were picked up 2 minutes away from our accomodation at the previously discussed time, and were dropped off there after the tour. Our guide, Maurizio was well prepared and knew so much not only about Mt. Etna, but Sicily as well. We visited a lava cave, where we recieved helmets and lamps to avoid injuries. The views on the Volcano were gorgeous, and the hike we took was absolutely doable, but I wouldn't recommend bringing open shoes. Great hospitality, great tour!Written September 9, 2024
- Y3707ZFalicea0 contributionsA lovely trip from start to finishThis was a great experience of Etna for a solo traveller. To have someone who knows Etna and with pick-up and drop-off even better. I was picked up a few minutes walk down the road from where I was staying as the street I was on was a little narrow for the minibus. Our guide was very informative and a fun person to have guiding us. The pit stop at the caves was good, not a long journey but still very informative. When we got to Etna there was a brief comfort break before going up. It wasn't a trek which was good, but we did go up high which was nice. I would suggest maybe wearing trainers with some grip, walking on Etna is like walking on sand, very soft so easy to loose balance. We were even given an alcoholic drink and some biscotti. Which were both homemade. Which was unexpected but a lovely treat. I would definitely recommend doing this is the morning as it was a little overcast so not too hot of a trek. I had a great time and learnt a lot, would definitely do this again!Written September 1, 2024
- Derek H0 contributionsAn amazing experienceOur guide was very nice and welcoming. He drove out if his way to collect us from our hotel. He spoke several languages, too. The hike itself was amazing. Stunning views. An all round lovely experienceWritten August 29, 2024
- B6897EFcatherinen0 contributionsVery interesting tourWe really enjoyed our tour around Etna including seeing lateral craters, lava flows, and walking through a lava cave. Daphne was a very knowledgeable and passionate tour guide who explained things very clearly and gave us lots of interesting facts about the volcano, the surrounding towns, and Catania in general. We were lucky enough to hear gurgle and pops from the volcano before it erupted 2 days later!Written August 25, 2024

I had an absolutely breathtaking experience on the sunset trip to Mount Etna. As we explored the volcanic landscape, our guide Iorga explained intricate details about Etna's history, geology, its impact on the surrounding environment and the wealth of his knowledge about the volcano and his passion for sharing it with us made the journey incredibly enriching. Watching the sun dip below the horizon against the backdrop of this majestic natural wonder was a truly magical moment and the memory of this experience will forever stay with me.

The Etna is a powerful place where nature presents itself in all her majesty. Elia, a perfect combination of knowledge, passion, and professionalism guided us with a light and secure touch, unveiling the secrets that were laying in front of our eyes, engaging us so that we learned about the volcano's life and the movement of the lava, sharing the stories of the people who love the Etna. It was a very special trip. I took many photos and enjoyed the view. I was very satisfied with my tour guide. He explained everything with passion and offered support to guests who needed help climbing the volcano. I hope to go back there someday.

This was an amazing afternoon and evening - very smoothly run, highly knowledgeable tour guide (Daniele), and a great trip around Etna! Only thing to bear in mind is that the sunset tour we did only had about an hour of actual hiking - worth clarifying if you’re looking for a more substantial trek!

The excursion is very well organized: they pick you up at your hotel and they will also return you there. The tour is quite complete, very nice views of the craters. The hiking can be done with kids, it only lasts about 40 minutes. We were visiting in July, so we only needed a light jacket during the sunset. And what really made the experience so great was our guide, Matteo, who not only had -as a vulcanologist- large knowledge of the matter, but also was very helpful and friendly, and took care of all the group. Wonderful day!

We took the Sunset tour of Etna on the last day of our visit to Sicily and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I always find with tours that it is so important to have a good guide as they really make the difference in how much fun everybody has. My family and I had a wonderful time and Luca(our guide) was great fun and knowledgable.
I highly recommend this visit.
