    A great day out.
Myself and my wife had a brilliant day out with Marco, he picked us up from our hotel in his car as he had promised and we visited all of the sites on the planned itinerary. He was very patient, he did not try to rush anything and he was very willing to share his knowledge about what had happened during the Allied invasion of Sicily in WWII. We highly recommend this day trip with Marco.

    Terrific
This was a terrific tour - both under as well as above ground. Catania is a place where much of its history (due to earthquakes and volcanic eruption) lies beneath street level. Matilde is a delightful guide, sharing her love of the past with a view to the present. She showed us places we would have never found or even thought to seek out. Plus an entertaining commentary on present-day Catania made for an enjoyable and informative morning. Be sure to include it on your Sicily itinerary.

    Interesting history lesson
Our guide was very nice and enthusiantic about the history of the city. We visited several underground caves and places which were located under old lava flows. Our guide told us many interesting parts of the catanian history. It was very informative!

    Incredibly informative and sobering experience.
Marko was incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating. He took great care of us, even dropping us off at our next hotel several towns away. Fantastic tour, highly recommended.

Good tour but NOT private tour as promised
When I booked the tour, Viator description said it's a private tour. I asked and had confirmation that we will have a private tour. So I was surprised and rather disappointed to find 2 other people had shown up for our 'private' tour. The guide was very informative and engaging, but our experience was tempered by their business practice. If they intend to add people at their conenience to a tour, they should not advertise it as 'private'. Also be aware there can be fleas - possibly from the numerous street cats. I got 30 or so bites somewhere around the Gammazita Well. At least they don't itch...

    What a Pleasant Surprise!
Wonderful tour of the underground sites of Catania! We really enjoyed an interesting tour with Matilda. She took us around the city and underground giving an excellent history of the city, the affects of past volcanic eruptions and how the people have adapted to living so close to a constantly evolving landscape. Some of the underground locations were in surprisingly interesting places; for example entering a local restaurant/bar to see a grotto with fresh running water! Highly recommend this tour!

    Catania Amzing Underground
Our guide Matilde was awesome. A Sicilian native that studied history, she shared numerous little known facts and took us to underground areas of the city that most people cannot visit. We had an exceptional experience.

    Inthe shadow of Etna
Catania city centre is a beautiful place and the back streets around the fish market are full of fascinating trattoria specialising in seafood. That is not to say you can't get fairly simple pizza or pasta. Do try the local ice cream, you will not be disappointed. The baroque architecture of the city really means the churches, of which the Duomo is the big set piece. Do check opening times if you plan to visit. The mixture of black and white materials, the black lava stone and the white limestone makes for a highly effective contrast. There is a tourist "train" that runs around the main city sights in a 40 minute circuit. It's reasonably priced and has commentary in English and via headphones other languages are available, I think.

    Great experience
Our guide, Alberta, was excellent. Her explanations and service were excellent. I traveled with my family and the places we visited were unique and no very tourist. The experience was totally worthy. I highly recommend this tour. It was not too short nor long.

    Fascinating and informative
Excellent tour. Very informative about lesser visited spots. Archaeological sites and hidden gems. Matilda was a wealth of Information and passionate about her city. Street food component was one pastry and a drink.

    Fascinating Tunnels under Catania
Matilda gave us an outstanding explanation regarding the various tunnels she took us to see more than just the main tourist ones under the Catherdral in Piazza Duomo Catania. We learnt about the history and the architecture and the various rulers that occupied Catania and other parts of Sicily. She gave us a run down of the history and the important monuments and key buildings as well as a bit about the people of Catania. It was a tour well experiencing with a great and enthusiastic Tour guide, Matilda.

    Amazing Underground Tour
Mathilda was a fantastic guide. Favorite part was exclusive access to Roman terme under the duomo and the underground springs that are accessible on both sides of the old city walls. The volcanic caves created by the presence of the water during the lava flows in 1660 are also incredibly unique.

We had a fascinating tour of the 1943 Museum with Matilde. She really brought the place alive for us and it was helpful to have here there to explain exhibits that didn’t have an english translation. She knew alot about WW2 Sicily. She also drove us into the centre of Catania and showed is a few more places. I would recommend this tour
