My friend and I booked this experience on a whim while in Palermo, and it ended up being so precious and special to us. Mamma Corleone and her translator were so kind and funny. Making the pasta, meatballs and pistachio pudding all by hand was so fun and meant we could bring some knowledge home, as well as our aprons! Would definitely recommend this experience!

Maria Pia (the chef) and the interpreter (Rahim) were the absolute sweetest. I was the only one to sign up for the time slot and I felt really bad that they had to do this one class for me BUT they were so happy to run this one on one class and made me feel extremely welcome! We made fresh tagliatelle, meatballs, and pistachio biancomangiare, while also having wine to enjoy the fruits of our labor. It honestly felt like a friends and family gathering - we chatted about all things family, cultural differences/similarities, history of the food and the region, and they even gave me recommendations for things to try and visit! The kitchen feels homey but also a professionally designed, so it was great. I also told them at one point that I’ve never tried freshly pressed olive oil or Marsala wine before and Maria Pia being the sweetest person whipped out a plate of olive oil with salt and bread and a glass of Marsala for me to try. I learned so much about the culture of Sicily while making and eating delicious authentic Sicilian food. This was the best thing I’ve done during my stay in Palermo and I can’t recommend it enough!

This was an excellent cooking class, very personal and intimate experience. They were able to translate everything to English and cater to dietary restrictions very easily. We made pasta with a sauce and meatballs (or vegetable meatballs) with biancomangiare for dessert. Everything was delicious and we highly recommend this experience!

One of the highlights of our trip! Mariapia & Federica were very welcoming, fun & shared a lot about their culture. Mariapia did a great job of making a menu to suit our dietary requirements. It is very professionally run, and honestly provided more food, entertainment & knowledge than I was expecting. I love that they provide a translator to really help you immerse into the experience & create a social environment. The space is commercially designed for this specific purpose, everything was new & clean but still had a rustic charm. Food came out great too, seriously delicious :) Thank you both!

Amazing experience! Great for families! So much fun! We went with our family and Mama Maria and her team were wonderful! I wish I could remember the name of her translator- she was great! Very friendly and interacted with our children like they were her own! We had one start out pretty grumpy and she had her in all smiles in no time at all! The food was fun to cook- and best of all, something that we can easily do at home. Great flavors and the cannoli was simply heavenly! Just one word of advice (and not about the class at all)- leave extra early if you’ve not been to Palermo before (I would say to plan for an extra 20-30 minutes). They are located in the city and parking is daunting at best, but the stress of driving and parking and driving in Palermo is immediately melted away when you are welcomed into Mama’s kitchen!
