About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- T8742BJthomast0 contributionsThe Baroque is new.The trip was well organized. Syracuse was very interesting especially considering the combination of old Greek and Roman ruins with new sculptures. Ortigia had great architecture as well. Particularly like all the numerous Baroque style churches.Written May 9, 2024
- Paula P0 contributionsGreat ExperienceHighly recommend this company and the tour. Very informative with enough free time to visit places on your own. Giovanni was an excellent guide. Wished we would have booked all our trips through them.Written September 19, 2023
- Anca Z0 contributionsSyracuse, Ortigia & Noto - feedbackThe trip was very pleasant, all the cities are worth-visiting. From my perspective, what can be improved is having a guide that shares more infos (as the description states there is a polyglot guide included). In the tour, we had a driver that would hand us printed information, leave us in specific places and pick us after some time.Written September 17, 2023
- mckotlar110 contributionsBest ExperienceThe best customer service I can ask for. From the start they have made it easy to find the right tour for me and my family to go to Favignana and Levanzo. Answered all the questions needed. I couldn’t ask for a better company to deal with overseas. It’s never easy booking something another country where you aren’t familiar with. I look forward to working with Dreaming Sicily again. Thank you immensely.Written June 20, 2023
- Rebecca H0 contributionsGood for solo travellersGreat tour. Got to see Mt. Etna and Taormina. The Mt. Etna guide was very knowledgeable. Lunch was provided and delicious.Written June 13, 2023
- Shuki R0 contributionsHow this park is set upThere are 2 standing temples in reasonable condition (Concordia and Juno), another 2 of which just some columns are left standing (Heracles and Dioscuri), and the rest is basically piles of rubble - although for the big Olympian Zeus temple, walls are clearly visible. The park is linked by a long road with entrances and paid parking lots (2€ for the first hour and 0.5€ every 30 minutes after that) at either end. Of course if you came by car you need to go back to the entrance where you came from but the road is pretty level - not too tiring. There's also a shuttle from end to end for 3€. The 2 standing temples are at one end so that some people think it's more dramatic to start at the other end and leave the best for last. But not really essential. There's a very nice café in the middle with good salads, sandwiches, cold drinks, coffee and ice cream.Written October 24, 2022
- Ryelane0 contributionsNo help for disabled at Agrigento. We booked this online. Travelled from Marina do Ragusa by private car. Long hot journey but brown tourism signs directing to the site were excellent. Unfortunately, there is no sign at the entrance, so we had to double back. Eventually got in. Car park charges, as well as a charge for admission. All went well until we wanted to return after our walking tour. It was 34 degrees Celsius and I have mobility issues in my legs and feet due to my mother taking the morning sickness drug, thalidomide. I am 62 now and though I can walk fairly well, I struggle walking uphill. The website says that there is a bus that will take you from one end of the site to the other. For a pricey 3€ per person per ride. That’s £ 2.65 or $5.00. A lot for an 800 metre uphill path. However at 1930 my family and I waited for the bus at the pick up point. For fifteen minutes. Then a bus turned up, but we were told he wasn’t going to pick us up and there’d be another bus along in , “five minutes”. He relented and took one severely disabled young woman and her career but flatly refused to take us, and anyone else at the bus stop. In an empty vehicle. Drove away and left us. No bus after five minutes so we had to walk. I was by now in severe pain and discomfort. No bus passed us on the way down. Two buses were parked outside a cafe halfway between the top and bottom of the hill. So actually, there was no service at all. When I finally reached the entrance/exit I asked to speak to the manager who spoke English. He told me the buses were nothing to do with him. They were, “independent”. Though clearly marked in the logo of the attraction. So no joy from him. If you have any mobility issues, or depend on the buses to help you, then do not visit this site. The service, in my experience, is slapdash and Undependable. The staff, offhand bordering on rude. Avoid.Written August 1, 2022

- acqueen0 contributionsAmazing Mt. Etna Sunset TourThis was a wonderful small group tour. Claudio our guide was full of information and really passionate about volcanoes. Hiking boots and jackets were provided, as well as some wine and Catania street food at the end of the hike. I recommend long socks if you have them. The day of our tour was sunny and warm so the snow was really soft. With some of the steps, I would sink into the snow up to my thigh but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Not recommended if you have any mobility issues as stated in their description. Due to low season, and afternoon tour time, we had the volcano almost to ourselves. This was amazing! So peaceful with fantastic views of Catania! We were not able to visit the cave due to safety reasons but Claudio made up for it by taking us on a longer hike. Thank you Claudio for making this an enjoyable experience!Written March 28, 2022

- char5750 contributionsFantastic company, with great service, and wonderful tripsWe went on a half-day boat tour, from Palermo dock, to Mondello, and then the Cave of Queens. Daniele organised it at the last minute for us, and the whole process was fantastic. The boat was very clean, with plenty of space, and shade, and a bathroom. We snorkelled in the crystal waters of Mondello bay, swam to a cave, and enjoyed wine and aperitifs on the boat. The family who ran the trip were very polite. Highly recommend Dreaming Sicily to find the best tours in the city.Written August 30, 2021

- P9860OAelizabethf0 contributionsHighlight of our holiday so far!Boat Trip to Scopello and Riserva dello Zingaro I was pleasantly pleased with how responsive Marco was. I had been trying to organize trips for the UK for Sicily with a tour operator but had proved difficult due to Covid. Well with Marco communication on what's app was superb. The trip we wanted was fully booked but he managed to suggest us an alternative, which proved to be the highlight of our holiday. Both us adults and kids totally enjoyed our boat trip and swimming in open sea. Our skipper was beyond amazing and the customer's service was impeccable. Please get in touch with him for your tours as it removes all the headache from your tripWritten July 23, 2020
- adriana y0 contributionsEtna &Taormina with kidsPickup/drop off was very handy and very prompt. Dario was very courteous and patient. It was a small hike, not very strenuous. There were areas where I wished I had requested trekking shoes for the kids (8yrs old) because rocks kept getting in their sneakers and they would have helped when hiking down slopes. It was cooler (up in the mountain) than I thought for a July day but the light jackets helped, if I could do it again, I would have them wear light pants that we could quickly switch out when walking around Taormina (Etna +Taormina tour) because it was extremely hot in Taormina. I wish we had 3 hrs in Taormina vs 2, it would have given us a chance for lunch and a bit more time to roam around. The tour does provide a quick picnic lunch with small Sicilian delicacies of stuffed bread and wine before heading back down the mountain and to Taormina, but we would have liked time to try out one of the restaurants. Oh, no bathrooms (besides the outdoors) until our arrival in Taormina (3pm). It was easy for my son, but not so much for my daughter who dislikes having to squat in the bushes. Overall we had a great time. Thank you!Written July 12, 2020
