Booked a transfer via Viator for this only to be told afterwards that they need to charge an additional 'surcharge' of 30 euros which was a greater than 70% markup to the price I paid Viator. They wanted me to pay them outside of Viator.
I emailed them back stating that they need to transparently and openly advertise such surcharges on the advertisement. They are surreptitiously rorting the customer here.
When customers book on Viator, the price advertised is the price charged, and that is a contractual obligation since you are selling this transfer through a 3rd party.
I will not be rorted and pay 30 euro more for an earlier time when at least 2 other companies charge the same amount and not 30 euro more. I found a much cheaper transfer through my hotel's private service and Journeys of Sicily.
I also reported them to Viator as they are not allowed to do this. Viator are now investigating the tour operator.
I also want to mention I requested a quote for another multi-day trip and they are definitely 'rorters'. Their pricing scheme is exorbitant and I believe they are really ripping customers off. I will be avoiding this company at all costs.
