About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- adventureplanner0 contributionsExcellent transfer services! We used Chauffers-Italy for six transfers during our 3 week tour to Sicily. During three of the transfers we stopped at sites on the way which was a time saving way to visit Segesta, Selinunte, and Villa Romana Del Casale. We had two different drivers named Francesco and Luciano. They all were helpful, however both Francesco’s were particularly helpful at making suggestions where to eat and helping us to organize our day. We had our favorite cannoli and granita in Sicily due to their guiding us. All three drivers were timely and professional. We wish they operated in all the countries we visit!Written May 21, 2024
- conniewW6234QK0 contributionsHighly recommend!Chauffeurs in Italy made our trip easy. We relied on them for airport transfers, drive from Ortigia to Taormina, a historical tour of Ortigia, a winery visit near Taormina, as well as restaurant recommendations. Relied, depended, chatted with, trusted. The highway was totally closed on our way to the airport, Poppa figured out a way to still get us there on time. I left my wallet in their van, Luciano was already 2 hours away. He returned it early the next morning. We had various drivers, they work together to alert each other of traffic conditions, if there are language issues, etc. It's like having a network working for you, not just one driver.Written October 14, 2023
- HammishTheHorrible0 contributionsThe best in Sicily as always !We enjoyed a wonderful tour of Sicily with Luciano back in 2019 and his customer service, kindness, professionalism and honourable nature has not changed at all. It has been our pleasure to be in contact with him again. He is number one in Sicily, do not hesitate to book with this exemplary company.Written May 21, 2023

- Domer840 contributionsMemories to last a lifetimeWe reached out to Chauffeurs Italy for a second time recently based on the great service they provided us in 2016. The team helped us with a private wine tasting at a small family-run winery in the Etna DOC. The next day the owner Luciano took us to Palermo from our hotel in Catania with a long stop along the way in Piazza Armerina to visit the spectacular mosaics in the Roman villa there and have lunch at local restaurant that won our "best meal in Sicily" award. We can't thank the team enough for creating many warm, happy memories to take back with us to a cold winter in Chicago.Written February 13, 2023
- evandimartino0 contributionsExcellent serviceLuciano was our private driver for 2 weeks while we were on our honeymoon in Sicily. He provided airport transfers and transportation to Siracusa, Noto, Modica, Ragusa, Piazza Armerina, Cefalu', Palermo, Milazzo, Taormina, Savoca, Forza D'Agro, and Catania. The service was outstanding - Luciano was always on time, prompt, courteous, professional, kind, helpful, and entertaining. The vehicle was clean and comfortable and we really enjoyed traveling and talking with Luciano. We were so happy with our entire trip and we highly recommend Chauffeurs Italy! Grazie Luciano!Written June 27, 2022
- mariegallahger0 contributionsExcellent Private DriverLuciano was with us for three days and was always prompt, helpful and had water and masks available for us each day. We had booked tour guides and visited sites and on the final day he took us to the airport for our fight out. He was a very safe driver and we highly recommend him.Written May 11, 2022
- osb18420 contributionsProfessional, prompt, and flexibleI employed Chauffeurs Italy during a recently trip to Sicily with a large group of friends. I knew that coordinating everyone with cars would be difficult, so I reached out to Chauffeurs Italy for help. They quickly replied and helped me plan out a driving schedule for the week. The price was very reasonable. During the trip, they were readily available over WhatsApp and were able to accommodate minor changes in our plans throughout the week without any issue. Each day, their driver arrived ahead of schedule and professionally supported our group throughout the day. They even helped to set up a tour of Modica's famous chocolate factory for us :) i highly recommend Chauffeurs Italy.Written October 2, 2021
- Zarina M0 contributionsFantastic transport companyWe used this company for a week-long trip to Sicily, including airport transfers, hotel transfers between Taormina, Siracusa, and Ragusa, and a few site and winery tours. The driving service was excellent---on time, professional, and knowledgeable. Both Francesco and Luciano were wonderful. We booked a few specialized tours on our own and those turned out to be better than the tours we booked through this company. I think guides can be hit or miss---Mila in Siracusa was wonderful and Teresa in Agrigento was on her telephone the entire time she was with us. The wineries they booked for us were also hit and miss---Murgo on Etna had great wines but we arrived an hour early and had to stand around in the rain, and the biodynamic winery in Noto (Cantina Marilina) had great food but wines that were largely undrinkable. There was also a problem with our chocolate tasting tour in Modica so we missed the laboratory visit. But I can't fault the company for the guides or the wineries, really. They are basically an excellent chauffeur service, and we can wholly recommend using them as a driving service. Their professionalism and courtesy made our holiday stress-free and, given the opportunity, we would book them again.Written October 1, 2019
- giovanna d0 contributionswedding transportationLuciano is an amazing person, he worked with us for 4 days, almost full day every day. He provided us everything: from water to umbrella to enjoy the beautiful beaches of the south of Sicily, car comfort with AC, possible to have a berlin or a minivan of 7 seats even for 2 people, and on top of that an honest price. His team is fantastic too! Thanks to him and his knowledge of Sicily we have been able to discover amazing secret beaches and fantastic restaurant. We are programming to come back to Sicily next June and contact him again :) I totally recommend his car service!Written September 2, 2019
- HammishTheHorrible0 contributionsAn answer to our prayers !Our lovely b&b Epoca, arranged for Chauffers Italy to pick us up from Ragusa Ibla to take us to Gli Aromi herb farm (please see separate review as this was so worth doing !). We were so impressed with Francesco that we arranged for Chauffers Italy to take us on a day trip to Agrigento and at the end of our stay, to Pozzallo for the ferry. The reasons why we were so impressed with this company are many. Firstly and perhaps most importantly, the careful and safe driving from Francesco and Lucianno was a great relief. We could sit and enjoy the travelling without that sick feeling and being stressed out ....the cars were of a high standard (Mercedes) and spotlessly clean. The information and interesting stories were so appreciated, that the journeys sped by. Good to note though, that when we were tired and beginning to doze, we were left in peace and quiet with no interruptions. Such excellent customer service ! In fact, we were so happy and feel very fortunate to have such confidence in this company, that we are planning to book Chauffers Italy when we tour the Amalfi Coast and Tuscany next year. For safe, comfortable driving at a reasonable cost, look no further. Highly Recommend.Written May 25, 2019
- nico H0 contributionsProfessional and well-informed guided tour.Booked this for my wife who is a big Montalbano fan. The driver arrived on time. His driving was very professional, and his vehicle was comfortable, making the trip very smooth. We had plenty of time at each location in order to indulge ourselves. We weren't expecting a guide to accompany our tour, but it was a pleasant surprise to have one accompany us, especially one as knowledgeable and friendly as Desiree. Can thoroughly recommend these guys.Written April 2, 2019
- 401angelina0 contributionsTransfers and much moreWe were met at the Catania airport and taken to our hotel. Over the next few days we toured Noto, the Valley of the Temples and more. Then transfered to Palermo. Wonderful experience and well worth the cost. No need to organize transfers and tours. Our driver took us to what we wanted to see. He spoke perfect English but was Sicilian and knew the country.Written August 11, 2018
- pubarrie0 contributionsAn impeccable service - but not cheap!Being somewhat concerned about driving in Sicily from the reviews, we decided to bite the financial bullet and transfer from Palermo to Taorima in luxury, and see Piazza Amerina on the way. How nice for a black mercedes to turn up on time almost at our door, and effortlessly take us 8 hours later to our door at our Taorima hotel, after a long visit to see the mosaics at Piazza Amerina and a long lost lunch. Peter was a wonderful driver and host (what else can a combination of Canadian and Sicilian bring?), with the right stories at the right time. The only reason this isn't getting 5 stars is the cost, which unfortunately is much the same as all their competitors. Well at least everything else in Sicily is a reasonable expense, and I'll admit petrol is not cheap!Written October 16, 2017
- Joanna S0 contributionsAmazing ServiceThank you Miriam for helping plan our wine tours while in Sicily! We had never been to Sicily so it was really nice to have Miriam's expertise and prompt response to email. Well worth the money - great Mercedes and Dario was so nice and patient with us!Written September 11, 2017

I can’t compliment Chauffeurs of Italy highly enough. They made our visit to Sicily special. Barbara was very responsive to our group of four with quick replies to our e-mails. She helped tweak our itinerary. We were able to make last minute changes without any fuss. Luciano was awesome. He was prompt for all of our pick ups. He is an excellent driver. He pointed out areas of interest during our drives. He suggested one of our favorite restaurants during our visit to Ragusa. The thing that took our trip to the next level was having local guides for all of our major stops. Barbara and Luciano arranged for us to have half day tours of Palermo, the valley of the temples in Agrigento, Ragusa and Sicilia. They were all excellent. Getting oriented by a local is a great way to start a stay in a new town. Luciano was a gentleman. He always had cold water available. He often had snacks, like cookies or chocolates. He was always happy to make a bathroom stop. His English is imperfect, but it wasn’t a problem. He was unobtrusive in a good way. We would not have enjoyed constanly having to make small talk during long drives. I can honestly say that our trip would not have been the same without them. Our next trip to Italy will likely be Naples and the Amalfi coast. I hope to persuade Chauffers of Italy to show us around.

We (2) are planning a visit for September. How could personalize the tour? Most of the standard tour is fine, but we will want some changes.
Do you have suggestions from your short tours?
