Mount Etna Half-Day Tour
From $74.95
Low Price Guarantee
Overview
Towering Mount Etna is one of Sicily’s most popular tourist destinations, drawing many sightseeing tours daily. This tour stands out by including round-trip transportation, a guide, snacks, and an almond wine tasting at a mountain chalet. After a casual hike through lava fields and a visit to underground lava caves, you’ll come away having seen more of the volcano than most sightseeing tourists.
What to Expect
Begin your tour with an optional hotel morning pickup in Taormina. Meet your guide and small tour group and get on the road for the roughly 75-minute journey to Mt. Etna.
Stop at the foot of the volcano and take a short hike across lava fields. Along the way, your guide tells you about Etna’s geological features and history.
Afterward, don a helmet and grab a flashlight to head underground into a lava cave, which you also explore with your guide. The last stop is a nearby chalet, where you lunch on a Sicilian sandwich, local wine, cake, and almond wine. Relax on the journey back to Taormina and finish the tour with a drop-off at your hotel.

We too booked it in Taormina so I agree that best might be to check website. Note that Catania is South of the mountain and Taormin seems to concentrate more on "its" north/east side. I think that Catania is in fact a... More
