About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- KathyJudo0 contributionsThe best way to see Taormina is definitely by Segway with CSTRentsWe do segway tours in as many cities as possible and this tour was THE BEST so far. The guides were knowledgeable, helpful and entertaining. They ensured that our group had time at each stop, took photos for us and responded quickly to any questions. Taormina is a busy town and having two guides allowed us to navigate safely and effortlessly through this beautiful medieval town.Written April 6, 2024
- APACN20230 contributionsUnforgettable Segway Tour with My Teen Daughter! Our segway tour experience with my daughter was nothing short of amazing. Leo and Maria Luisa were friendly and professional and we are so glad that we did it. If you're looking for a thrilling and unique way to explore a city with your family, I highly recommend a segway tour. It will create memories that will last a lifetime!Written July 6, 2023
- knottsm0 contributionsLast minute tour was the best! Our Segway tour of Taormina with Leo and Maria Luisa was wonderful. We were on a cruise ship and our original excursion was cancelled. We contacted them at the last minute and they were able to make it happen! We saw so much more than we had on previous trips to Taormina. We would highly recommend them!Written December 14, 2022
- Michelle H0 contributionsGreat way to see Taormina and the Ancient Greek Roman theater. This was a wonderful tour! So glad we did it! It would’ve been a 5 star but I dropped one star because of tardiness. When we arrived at the meeting spot, our guide not there. Fortunately they had given us their phone number and we were able to call. Their vehicle had broken down on the way. They did an amazing job of rearranging their transportation and guides to get us started on the tour, albeit an hour late. They were very accommodating of our schedule. It was so much fun!! We were able to cover so many charming narrow streets, squares, and the ancient theater. We never would have seen so much on foot. My husband has a heel injury that makes walking painful but he was able to Segway. Our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke English well. We had earphones so we could listen to her as we rode. Thank you for a wonderful day in Taormina!Written October 30, 2022
- billsS6998QJ0 contributionsA unique and special experienceA very special trip through Taormina on segways! Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. She was accommodating to our situation and really made this experience feel personalized and intimate. We visited many historical Lanarks such as the ancient Greek theater, and had picturesque views all along the way. I highly recommend this tour! One of our guides took pictures along the way, and emailed us all of them without being prompted to or asked!Written October 12, 2022
- toddg8900 contributionsCity Tour - Easy, Fun, and EfficientOur family of 6 (mom and dad 50+, four kids 16-24) toured Taormina for 2-3 hrs and saw all the key spots in a much more efficient way than a walking tour. Given the hilly terrain, it was also much easier than walking or climbing steps! The activity began with training us to use the Segways properly which took about 20 minutes. We were accompanies throughout by an excellent guide and the Segway guy (who was responsible for the equipment and our safety). Sometimes navigating through or around crowds, narrow streets, and vehicle traffic was a bit cumbersome, particularly given that we were a line of six people. Overall, a great way to learn about a new town on your first or only day there.Written June 26, 2019
- sgorelick0 contributionsGreat daySuch a fun thing to do! Highly recommend this! Easy way to see the town...especially w teens. Be careful of the pedestriansWritten June 21, 2019
- kholzwarth810 contributionsAwesome Tour of TaorminaMy husband and I did the Taormina tour a few weeks ago and had a blast! Both Leo and the guide were great. Super knowledgable and gave us such great historical information. We had so much fun riding the seqways too! My only advice (and this has nothing negative to do with CSTRents) is that if you're doing the tour in the afternoon during the winter, make sure to go to the greek theater first. We went at 3pm and figured we'd stop by the theater but it closes at 3 in the winter so we didn't get to see it. Again, this is not their fault at all. We were stupid and didn't check the times. :) Just a quick bit of advice for your future plannings. But yes...I highly recommend them. If we're ever there again we will definitely use them again for one of the other cities!Written January 8, 2019
- Elyse T0 contributionsGlide through TaorminaHonestly, I worried about this experience. Not being very coordinated I thought that I was going to be terrible on a machine controlled by balance, but it was a breeze with Leo’s instructions. He was patient with my nervousness, reassuring and thorough in making sure I could control the Segway before we went anywhere near obstacles. I took the tour with six friends, so it was like a private tour for us. Our English speaking guide Alice was knowledgeable and took us through the ancient theatre as well as around the city and to the beautiful gardens with amazing sea views. We had an amazing time!Written July 7, 2018
- gdomm0 contributionsBeautiful village and surrounding area.I very much enjoyed the Segway tour. The tour guide hired by the Segway owner was very informative. Both the Segway machine owner and the guide went on our tour. We went though the village and a park with a scenic view of Mount Etna, an active volcano. The Segway owner is going to send us pictures (by email) that he took along the way. This is a nice extra touch. The Segways were in good shape and the owner gave us driving lessons in a parking garage before we started our ride. If I am ever back in Sicily, I would do it again. There were four adult visitors in our group.Written June 11, 2018
- SunriseUriahHeep0 contributionsSegway in TaorminaMy husband and I enjoyed our first ever tour on a segway. We are in our early late 50s/early 60s and wondered if we would be able to do it. Leo, the leader of the tour, was fantastic thoroughly teaching us how to use them before we set off. It was great fun and a fantastic way to see Taormina. We went through the main streets, into the beautiful park, then stopped off at a bakery for delicious cakes. We then went into the breathtaking ancient amphitheatre. As we were novices, Leo went slowly and took a lot of care along the way. he took a number of photos which he emails after the tour. Definitely recommend it. A prior reviewer mentioned the tour being cancelled - you are asked to check 2 days in advance that sufficient people are on the particular tour. We received regular email updates before this, however, informing us that the tour was going ahead as two other people had booked. So, lots of care is taken to keep us informed. Thanks Leo.Written June 9, 2018
- benst0 contributionsNo SegwayI do not recommend trusting your holiday entertainment to CSTRents. We booked and paid for Segway tours in 3 locations (Naples, Palermo and Taormina) and all were cancelled. The bookings were for late April/early May and there was nothing on Viator that indicated there should be trouble. Here’s how the process went for all 3: A) booking made and paid for on Viator. Voucher received. B) within 24-48 hours of the booking, Leo will email you and say there are insufficient people for a tour. We booked for 2 people and made these bookings in February. So it’s hardly surprising others haven’t booked yet, and it’s bizarre they would try and dissuade you from doing so when they make this option available on Viator. C) a couple of days before the booking, Leo will email you again and offer a “private tour” if you double what you have already paid, or a refund So naturally we asked for a refund. I genuinely don’t understand their business model - it’s either incompetent to offer something at a time you’re not going to run it, or extortionate to demand double for what has been advertised. The added twist for this one is that on the night before the attempted booking (and well after Leo had emailed us to cancel it) they called me repeatedly to suddenly offer the Segway tour. This is after it had been cancelled and we had made alternative plans. This is just straight up incompetent and it was really annoying. Bottom line is DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE PEOPLE. They won’t deliver. Plan on doing something else with your time.Written May 14, 2018
- Ronit40 contributionsGreat way to see Taormina! We took the Taormina Segway tour. As we wanted the tour at a certain hour, it cost us more (105 euro/person instead of 99 euro/pp) and was defined as a VIP tour. Indeed, we were accompanied by three people: a licensed guide (Antonella), the Segway guy and (I think) the boss (in his car). Antonella provided thorough explanations, and the boss in the car "paved the way" for us (i.e. blocked traffic) when it was necessary to travel on narrow roads (sidewalks almost do not exist in Sicily). We went into the Greek Theater with Antonella (we added the entrance fee) and benefitted from her extensive knowledge. I would highly recommend this tour, even though it is relatively expensive (in Rome the same tour duration costs 80 euro). Nothing beats getting to know a new town by Segway!Written May 1, 2018
- gfkr20 contributionsRushed Only to be Cancelled with WarningBeware- We booked a tour online with CSTRents in advance and then boarded a cruise with voucher in hand ready for an exciting day exploring Taormina. What we didn't know while on the high seas is the tour operator cancelled our tour. We dashed off the ship and rushed to a taxi to the center of only to be left wondering why there were no segways at the meeting location. A very nice Italian gentleman was kind enough to call the tour operator on our behalf and he said the tour got cancelled because not enough persons signed up. The tour operator says he tried to reach me, but this seems to be the standard line used in a desperate attempt to put blame back on unsuspecting tourists. I am furious thinking how our day got blowjn-up in this lovely town and we were left without options on our only day visiting Taormina.Written August 14, 2017
- Chesteroompa0 contributionsFun way to see Messina!Owner and co-worker trained us (6 of us) to use the segways. It was a unique way to see the city of Messina in Sicily. There were 2 guides with us. They stopped us at different areas of the town and explained the history and significance of each area. I would recommend this to anyone.Written July 1, 2017
