      Definitely worth going.
Our trip was rearranged for a day earlier than planned due to anticipated bad weather, which was a good start. The crew were very enthusiastic about their work and the talks they gave were very informative. We didn't see any dolphins, but they quoted an 80% chance of sightings in advance. The snorkelling was great fun but got cold by the end, as water temperatures had dropped by late September. I would definitely recommend this trip.

The crew were kind, attentive and very knowledgeable about these amazing animals and the north Sardinia area. We had a fantastic time despite me getting stung by a jellyfish. Amazing experience

      Worthwhile tour!
This is the second time I did the tour and the first was 3 years ago. Both times I was fortunate to see dolphins even though there was no guarantee. The snorkeling was well organized and the "lead" was very diligent to point out various marine life. It was also good to receive a tutorial on dolphins. Well worth the trip and you also get to support a great cause.

      Basic and uncomfortable
Rather pricey, it was cash only for these NGO people on this small and basic boat. We saw no dolphins in 4 hours, there were almost no seabirds, so snorkeling over a few fish between a cluster of tourist boats was the highlight, other than gazing at the impressive coast. To be fair they seemed to be looking for dolphins much of the time, but anyway this trip never gets close up to dolphins or swims with them, as they don't believe in disturbing them. The halfhour snorkeling session was over a fairly lifeless area of sea bed. Snorkeling was hard work. Although I was recently rated as having better cardiac fitness than average for my age and have snorkled before, I found it too demanding Whenever I found a few fish to look at quietly for a moment, one of the crew in the water kept barking at me to keep up, but otherwise they was no assistance from the younger crew. One older guy on the boat did seem to be checking I did not drown, but little more. At times we were 50m from the boat. For 4 hours it was hot, shade was limited, the bench was hard to sit on, and we were not even offered any water. There was no toilet. I wish I had taken more water and been advised to pee in the sea ... A dolphin studies masters student talked at us at length about their "superimportant" research, their pet names for dolphins, how everyone was so cruel to dolphins, which are just like humans and have names in their own language etc. It seemed to me a mix of science and sentimentality. Everyone tried to listen politely but looked bored, as she turned the pages of her presentation and handed round research charts. Much of this was basic mapping, fin ID, etc, also some recordings played quietly. The youngsters said at the end it was ok as it was sunny and they saw a moray eel swim away.

      Dont hesitate :)
This activity is: 1) so interesting 2) so beautiful 3) supporting a scientific cause 4) helping dolphins 5) respectable to the nature 6) totally worth the money and more 7) guided snorchelling is also super cool and super easy Dont think about any other activity. Reserve this one. Be cool. Also the dolphins get as close to you as they feel is okay. Be patient and humble.

Unforgettable Dolphin Watching and Snorkeling Adventure with Expert Guides
Here’s a review for the summer dolphin watching and guided snorkeling tour with MareTerra NGO: We had an incredible experience on the summer dolphin watching and guided snorkeling tour with MareTerra NGO. Our crew consisted of an expert guide, Fabio, along with three knowledgeable students, all of whom provided a thorough introduction to the behavior and life of dolphins, particularly those in the Capo Caccia - Isola Piana area. The highlight of the tour was undoubtedly witnessing a group of dolphins in their natural habitat—a truly spectacular sight that we will never forget. Fabio and the team were not only informative but also passionate about marine conservation, which made the experience even more meaningful. The guided snorkeling was also a fantastic addition, allowing us to explore the underwater world while learning about the local marine life. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in marine wildlife or simply looking for a unique and memorable experience.

Nice excursion but a bit pricy
Everyone was polite and the trip was well organised. Unfortunately, we did not see any dolphins. I have rated this excursion with 3 stars, as in my opinion, it's a bit pricy.

Best 60€ to spent in Alghero
The dolphin excursion was incredible. The snorkeling also. While traveling Fabio and the interns are giving a lot of useful information about the area, dolphins and marine life. The whole team was super nice and friendly. The best 60€ i've spent in a long long time. If I come back here i would rebook this trip instantly.

      THE BEST EXPERIENCE
I am a student studying abroad in Europe, and over the course of two years I have attended many whale and dolphin watching events in Europe, and this event was definitely the best event I have ever attended, with the best science explanation and frontline research staff!

Great views and very interesting information (even though we didn’t spot any dolphins)
We had a great time, a family of four (kids 12 and 15). Very interesting information about dolphins and the marine life in the Mediterranean. The tour is very focused on the wellbeing of marine life, and unfortunately for us we didn’t see any dolphins, but had a very nice boat tour and guided snorkelling as well (the first time for us)! The snorkelling experience and the beautiful views around Capo Caccia and Alghero made our day. Would definitely recommend this tour, but be aware that it’s no guarantee that dolphins are spotted (the guides tried their best to find any, even extended the tour a bit). Thank you Fabio and your team on the boat!

      Great dolphin experience
Great trip we learned a lot from the excellent crew. We got to see dolphins early on the trip but not later. You have to have a little patience searching for the dolphins but in that time the very passionate Crew told us about dolphins and the work they are doing. Really great to see such passion from the interns, and what a great teacher they have in Fabio. I highly reccommend the trip.

      Highly recommend this
We really enjoyed the boat trip and learning about the dolphins. The snorkelling was good fun too, Fabio was good at pointing out different sea creatures. We didn’t see a dolphin until the very end, it was a great boat trip without seeing the dolphins and then was made even better once we got to see them.

      The best!
They promised 80% success rate to see dolphins… I was among the 80% could see wild dolphins in their original environment. ;) I learned a lot during the trip about them. It is the best and most responsible way to see dolphins with Progetto Natura. I highly recommend them, I can just speak highly about it. The educational snorkeling at the end of the trip was fenomenal. All equipment is given to you, so no worry you do not bring anything. Do not miss it!

Wonderful time on the boat and learnt so much
We had a wonderful time on the boat and learnt so much about the biodiversity in the area. Guided snorkeling in a bay was educational and fun with a variety of underwater life to see.

Dreams came true for me on this tour. Fabio gives a perfect explanation of what they do and about the dolphins, scientific but not boring. This is an animal friendly way to see dolphins. You feel the love for the animals the whole trip. Francesco takes pictures and they send them later if you leave your email. Definitely recommend! Big thanks to Fabio & Francesco.

The crew were really experienced. Tour began with some general information on Progetto Natura and dolphins. After about an hour found two dolphins which we followed for some time. Because the dolphins were really shy, we could not really see them well so we left to find some more dolphinsa. However, after we had reached our goal and saw dolphins, it really seemed like the crew gave up on looking for more. In the end we got some more information on dolphins and saw the coastline from the boat.

Hi Meri, thanks for the time you took to leave the review. Please, remember that we have two boats and there are always people looking for dolphins. So that was maybe your impression but even when it seems to you we are doing different, our eyes are catching any possible movement (we are really experienced as you wrote). In the end, I'm happy you observed the real-life of the dolphins. It was a good chance. We hope to welcome you again on board, Fabio, Francesco and Gabriella

Amazing trip. The 3 tour guides were so friendly and informative and cleared showed a passion for dolphins and their conservation. We saw a pod of 11 beautiful dolphins of which one was a calf. An exemplary organisation with an ethical, conservational approach to the work they do and this translated well to the tourist.

We didn’t see dolphins till the last moments of the tour, and it was so worth the wait, obviously. The guides were extremely respectful of the wild life (IE. Not darting towards them, following too closely etc.) and you could tell they were passionate about them. 100% worth every penny! P.s. future travellers, make sure you bring warm clothing to layer up!

We had a great tour with Fabio and his colleague. Very informative and interesting talk about the local eco system and obviously dolphins specifically. They are passionated about the dolphins and their environment. Besides all this we also just had a great time due to the positive attitude of Fabio and his colleague. Ofcourse it also helped we spotted a group of dolphins just before the end of the tour. They really ‘showed off’.
All in all a very nice and recommendable excursion for us!

Fabio, William and Lawrence were a fantastic Captain and Crew. We received a really interesting presentation about the dolphins in Alghero Bay and ended the trip with 30 minutes guided snorkelling, with Fabio explaining to us what fish and marine life we were viewing on the sea floor. Lovely to be in a small group of just 12.

We want to give special thanks to Fabio for all his communication via whatsapp in helping us to arrange our two tours, change dates etc. He truly went above and beyond, and is incredibly passionate about ecotourism and the environment in general. If there were more people like Fabio in positions of power the world would be a better place.

This trip and this tour company are a rare gem. You'll be richer for the experience. Claire and Mark 25th September.

A childhood dream finally come true!

We were lucky enough to be able to observe quite a few dolphins.
    What an unforgettable experience.

Special mention for the kindness of the crew and the very interesting information from Fabio concerning the dolphins.
And what a pleasure to be able to hear the vocalizations of the dolphins around us through headphones.

Brief! It was magical and very educational.
I recommend with your eyes closed.
