      Annoyingly misleading and massively costly
This did not go well from the start. Email pick up instructions appeared to suggest collection from central Brindisi location. This was not the case. A 30 minute cab journey costing Eur 30 took us to an almost impossible to find and worryingly dark, empty and remote location outside the city. Literally in the middle of nowhere, not in a good way. The family, friendly and kind as they were, spoke no English. Fortunately a charming friend of theirs did, enabling some conversation to take place. The food was unremarkable but plentiful. A couple of hours later another taxi took us back to the hotel costing a further Eur30. An evening not to be repeated. The organisers should make it clear that hosts are some distance outside the city itself which adds considerably to the cost of the experience.

      Mimma and Ciro are fantastic
Our experience with Mimma and Ciro was a highlight of our cruise. From the start we felt welcomed into their home and community. The trip to the Lab Giada to watch and taste fresh mozzarella making in its many forms was very enjoyable and educational. The market, while late in the day, was vibrant and we saw some products not familiarize to us that Mimma graciously bought for us to sample. The cooking in her cozy kitchen - the Corp as supervisor, rum man, baguette msn and mandolin safety office, was fun and yielded delicious results! Our only regret was that we couldn’t eat more of the more than ample 3 course (plus) spread. Their hospitality extended to Mimma walking us down the hill (past the elementary school that she and her sons went to) to the water taxi back to the port terminal. Thank you Mimma and Ciro ( and Evo of course!).

No better teacher of Pugliese culinary secrets than a local Nonna
The cooking class/dinner was an amazing experience and i highly recommend it. My wife and i wanted to try something new/different as well as typical of the region. Cesarine didn't disappoint. Typical Pugliese dishes at a small Masseria cooked/taught by a local Nonna. Her English was not perfect but in order to make sure all bases were covered she was accompanied by a charming, smart local kid who spoke perfect English and helped translate everything. At first we introduced each other, our hostess Maria offered us water and, of course, their own local wine. Once we felt at home we got to work. She explained what we were going to make, the menu consisted on fried bread polpetti, fried squash blossom and the crown jewel of Pugliese pasta: orecchiette with tomato sauce and fresh basil. For dessert: caramelized almonds. Maria guided us step by step, from soaking the bread in water for the polpetti to making the dough for the pasta, knead it, stretch it, cut it and shape the orecchiette. All this in the beautiful kitchen or her Masseria while listening to classic Italian pop songs. It didn't feel like a class at all, it was more a gathering of friends just laughing and talking while making dinner. While things were cooking we stepped out and Maria showed us around, we gathered some herbs and hot peppers from her garden to add to our menu. She also showed us all different kinds of tomatoes and olives she grew. We went back to the kitchen to finish up and went back outside to sit at the table, beautifully set in the garden so we would enjoy the fresh summer breeze. After all the delicious food and wine it was time to say our good byes and go home. Not without receiving a parting gift from our gracious hostess, cute little bags with the caramelized almonds we made. Perfect snack for the upcoming flight! We look forward to have some friends over and put on practice our newly learned pasta-making skills. If you feel like doing something out of the ordinary on your vacation now you have another option to consider.

      Momma Cook
Mimma describes herself as not a chef but a mama cook. She is vivacious, a great smile and constantly learning her English from her students. What she doesn’t understand her husband (the supervisor)may but she uses google translator easily so everyone understands one another. It was fun making the different shaped pasta and she was a patient teacher. The couple were inviting, gentle and welcoming that I’d go back to learn everything she could teach me!

      Puglia pasta making, 5/5 stars
The class was so good! We cooked typical pasta of puglia, making it from scratch! We also made the dessert, a tiramisu, which was wayyy better than the one we make at home... Our hosts were amazing and very welcoming, they were great to talk to and very good at explaining the steps of our cooking process. We had a lovely evening with them and it felt like visiting old friends despite meeting them for the first time. I greatly recommend the experience!

      Authentic cooking experience!
We took the "Fresh pasta making class" with Mimma in Brindisi and had so much fun! First they welcomed us with aperitifs, then taught us how to make three different types of pasta (and sauce), and then we got to eat our creations. Mimma was an excellent teacher and we really enjoyed this experience. A truly authentic experience!

A very nice experience with Claudia and her lovely family. It included a cooking class and a delicious meal with several local dishes cooked to perfection. It took place in their cosy farmhouse just outside Brindisi. Since I don’t have any access to a car, they picked me up at my hotel. Overall a perfect night with a lovely family.
