- randallw5520 contributionsCity Gudies Tour of Mission DoloresMy Sons in Retirement Group had a wonderful and most interesting tour of the Mission Dolores neighborhood in San Francisco with City Guides Walking Tours. Our docent, Joan Scott was energetic, passionate about her subject, and even added her own life history as it related to the area. From the golden fire hydrant to the wonderful murals, victorian homes, and the beautiful park this neighborhood is steeped in the history of San Francisco. I highly recommend City Guides, and touring this district. Ask for Joan as your docent . She was great!Written July 13, 2024
- Lora J0 contributionsWonderful tour !We had a wonderful tour with Louisa. We learned so much and have a deeper understanding of Verona and its history. Thank you for a fantastic afternoonWritten May 17, 2024
- Ricardo N0 contributionsMore to Verona than we thoughtWas a great walk getting to know Veronas history, landmarks and culture. We learned and enjoyed the tour. It was a good experience to know that there is more to Verona than Juliet.Written March 31, 2024
- swimsat0 contributionsHistory, and a love story. It was lovely to see all the sites, and the history - there are SO many buildings with different historical times all mixed together - 12th century, next to 16th century, next to 14th century next to 20th century, all very close to a Roman arena and not far from a Roman amphitheatre. Also amazing for me was to hear that there was an element of truth in Shakespeare's play, even though he did not travel overseas ie there really were two families of Montague's and Della Capella, seeing the sign of the Cap, (denoting Della Capella household) at what is now known as Juliet's house, and hearing that a family Montague lived in what is now shown as Romeos house. It made Verona even more fascinating. The price was quite high for a walking tour.Written December 4, 2023
- 161margr0 contributionsVerona a hidden gemOur tour was like a private tour with only 3 of us... which was great. It meant we could ask questions of our young guide as we went along and she had time to stop and tell us about the building/monument. Verona is a beautiful city and our guide showed us the best spots. We especially liked seeing the Adige river and hearing the history of the buildings on the opposite side of the river. I was surprised to hear the local delicacy is horse meat stew with Polenta! I would recommend this tourWritten October 8, 2023
- adventuresincrazydad0 contributionsgood small group tourWe booked just a couple of days before. Laura was great. The small group truly was small, us and another couple (sometime "small groups" are a lot larger). As a result, we had a pretty tailored experience (e.g., we didn't want to oh and ah at "Juliette's house," so the stop was kept to a minimum). Piazza Bra can be crowded/overrun. We asked at our hotel where the Piazza Bra clock was which is the designated meeting place. (Locals know that it is a clock in an archway over one of the streets into the Piazza.) That could be better described on the booking. We did not book on this occasion on "Get Your Guide" but when we booked a different tour in a different city with that, its app had a useful feature telling one how far you are from the meeting place. The tour also might have mentioned the Porta Leoni, the other roman wall remnant that we stumbled onto in town.Written September 25, 2023
- Culture348516135870 contributionsMoney well apentA small group tour is by far the best way to view the city. Our guide was on time, friendly, knowledgeable and spoke very good English.we were in a group of 6 which was very manageable and we could gather round the guide in the busy spots and hear her clearly. Verona is a beautiful, history laden city and this tour was a great way to see it - worth every penny !.Written September 21, 2023
- Jacob S0 contributionsPleasant and knowledgeable guideGreat tour and the guide was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. I would recommend this tour to anyone who would like to get to know Verona better.Written September 2, 2023
- D7187GWpaulm0 contributionsAmazing 2hr tour of VeronaAn amazing 2 hour tour of the best of Verona, so much history and culture to learn about. We would have missed so much if we had not taken the tour and not have felt like we really explored Verona. Laura, was very knowledgeable, professional and patient. She managed to keep our 16 & 14 years engaged and asking questions, we all really enjoyed it. We ere lucky that we ended up having the tour to ourselves. Thank you to Laura, we have great memories of our time in Verona.Written August 16, 2023
- kevinbR5113BI0 contributionsGreat but frustratingOur guide Laura was very knowledgeable and very interesting. my main reason for not awarding five stars is that the description of the meeting point did not match the dropped pin on the map by a distance of about 100m. the description "under the clock" was between two arches of a busy vehicle gate into and out of the Piazza Bra. my wife and I spent an hour the previous evening walking around the area of the pin looking for a non-existent clock.Written August 2, 2023

- DavidWildog0 contributionsInteresting, accessible, and informative!Luisa was exceptional! Informative, incredibly knowledgable, and happy to answer any and all questions. Even stopped at a few extra places due to questions as we walked. Highly recommend!Written July 5, 2023
- Laurie H0 contributionsDay in Verona - as we passed throughLaura was fantastic. So knowledgeable. Not a question was asked that she didn’t know. She also did a wonderful job discussing Romeo and Juliet as to give more history about Shakespeare and the stories possible tie to Verona.Written July 2, 2023
- JonHaukur590 contributionsHighly recommendedThe guide, Laura, who talked slowly and clearly, told about history and gossip, both interesting. Was an excellent trip with a very good guide.Written June 9, 2023
- travellingkarmenjohn0 contributionsInteresting history of VeronaWe saw lots, learnt a lot about the history of Verona but very few anecdotes along the way and didn’t point out any curiosities as we walked.Written May 17, 2023
