Verona food and wine walking tour with an unusual visit of the city

"Live local, feel local!" This is our motto!
This is a must-do local experience in Verona!
A pleasant gastronomic walk through the streets of the historic center of Verona with gourmet stops in old food shops, delis, wine bars and cafés, with plenty to eat along the way. Your savvy Tour Leader (born and raised in Verona) will take you through the city center, giving you time to admire the old monuments and narrow historic streets, and taste typical Veronese dishes: from classic cheese and cold cut appetizers to freshly made gourmet pizza/focaccia and more gastronomic delights, all paired with delicious local wines, providing so many tastings that it can be considered a full lunch. During the tour, you will make some very unconventional stops (old Roman ruins / terrace with amazing views).
Also included is a ride on the funicular railway to the most romantic view in Verona.

What to Expect

The tour can be considered a two in one: a nice walking tour of Verona with a local tour guide combined with a food and wine itinerary that can make for a great lunch.
- 10 am Meeting Point: Piazza Bra n.28 in front of "Farmacia Internazionale" entrance
- A  local tour leader taking you through Verona, where you will learn old traditions and  secrets of the ancient city.
- You will stop in a local grocery where you'll taste local cheese and cold cuts appetizers served with a glass of Prosecco/ Soave wine
- 5 delicious culinary stops based on Veronese dishes: classic cheese and cold cut appetizers, taste of local Prosecco and the glorious  Valpolicella wine; homemade gourmet pizza or focaccia or polenta with melted cheese  and the famous Italian ice- cream to finish the experience.
- Stops in unconventional venues, such as panoramic terraces or private venues with roman ruins.
- Funicular railway which takes you to the highest part of the city
- The Food and Wine walking tour will end at about 2.00pm

We met the lovely Virginia as planned, and another couple for this tour. One of the joys of this is the small group. First thing we did was visit a small cafe for coffee and pastries, and a chance to chat with each other. Then...More
