Such an expressive guide, with fun and fascinating knowledge of the city, having grown up as a local. She also very kindly allowed us to move our date at very short notice when we had to reschedule our holiday. Thank you again Maria, it was well worth the wait! ❤️Written October 10, 2024

She has a mix of facts about all sort of things plus so many fun stories - we all felt like we really understood Verona after our tour. Plus she was great at taking photos!Written June 13, 2024
- Ryan O0 contributionsPerfect. Just what I was hoping for.Maria was amazing, very informative about local history. The tour was actually a lot better than I thought it was going to be (I mainly booked it for the proposal). The only thing I would recommend is give your phone to someone behind you in the queue for the balcony and then you get two angles (that’s what I did). Maria was lovely and so caring, she also didn’t mind me messaging her with queries leading up to the day. I have probably left out stuff but I just want to end it with I would not change a thing and Maria made the day what it was, which was perfect and Amazing ❤️Written June 5, 2024
- sarahmO9591DL0 contributionsExcellent tour guideMaria Pia is a responsive and knowledgeable tour guide. Provided a personal message on booking and supplied meeting point. I booked one waking tour but she was able to provide a more comprehensive tour in English encompassing history, environment architecture local business and of course access to main attractions. Very helpful and responsive - well worth as a guide thank youWritten May 26, 2024

- Gary F0 contributionsYou will enjoy this tour of Verona! Our tour guide was fabulous. She was very knowledgeable about Verona’s history, architecture and she had a wonderful sense of humor.Written April 20, 2024
- JamesD58320 contributionsOur guide, Maria Pia was superb!I was part of a familiarisation trip with a high end travel agency. Our guide Maria Pia was an absolute joy. Her enthusiasm was palpable before she even entered our bus. She was bouncing with excitement as we pulled up to collect her. This excitement never waned throughout our hours together, even when we stopped for coffee she lit up the table with her incredible knowledge and story telling abilities. Being a Verona tour guide is not work for Maria, it is her pleasure. And that was beautiful to see. She has a genuine star-cross'd love of her city. On our tour we also passed a tourist who was walking around using a guidebook Maria wrote. 'O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright.' (Exeunt)Written April 10, 2024

- michaeloH6246IU0 contributionsVerona Moonlight Tour - ExceptionalSeeing the city lit up at night is something we always love to do. This tour was better than many others we have taken in other cities. Our guide Maria was EXTREMEly knowledgeable about little things embedded throughout the older part of the city that we had walked by several times and never noticed the significance. Our tour went over the allotted time and with the permission of all she continued to show us things for another half hour. It was really fun.Written October 13, 2023
- Danielrtaylor860 contributionsProposal tourThis was absolutely amazing, Maria took us through each step of the tour engaging us all the way with her knowledge and passion explaining the history of Verona. It was a memorable day and she definitely helped me pop the question in the best way possible. Towards the end of our tour we both were truly sad to leave Maria and actually wanted her to come home with us. Made us feel at ease the whole way and truly connect with Verona.Written October 5, 2023

We thought we were just going to enjoy a nice tour of Juliet's home, but got so much more. The history of the area, being advised that we were walking on ancient fossils in the marble on the ground, and then looking up at the different centuries and identifying each style of architecture was very helpful for the rest of our time throughout Italy. Verona was so much more than we expected. This was easily the most informative tour we did in any city in Italy, we did 6 tours. Our guide was very entertaining, funny, had a great understandable accent, and we appreciated the earpiece while she spoke in her microphone. The only drawback was our schedule and we had to leave early just as she was wrapping up. Highly recommend this great tour.

This was such an insightful and refreshing tour of Verona city center. Our tour guide was a great story teller: he was able to give just the right amount of history without getting boring, enough walking around to keep us engaged, and enough comedy to keep it light hearted. Obviously the city center can get very crowded, so our tour guide did his best in navigating us away from the crowds. He also let us know all the great restaurants to eat and where to get the best gelato. I would recommend this tour for anyone who wants a different spin on the story of Romeo and Juliet.

Thank you. Yes, they say Juliet's House is the most visited single monument in the whole word ... I don't know if this is true, but undoubtly it's one of the most visited sights in the wonderful city of Verona ... but of course there's much more than the balcony and this tour puts the story in its historical background and at the end you come to understand a lot about the city in a pleasant and involving way.

If you love history, architecture, Romeo and Juliet, or the movie Letters to Juliet, this is the perfect tour for you! Maria was the perfect Tour Guide! As we walked through Verona, she shared the city's historical importance, explained the architecture, told the true story of Romeo e Giuletta, and showed filming locations for the movie "Letters to Juliet." Even though the line to see Juliete's courtyard was 4-5 blocks long, Maria had a secret "Skip the Line"!!!. At the end of the tour, she took us to the restaurant in the movie "Letters to Juliet," and we made lunch reservations. It was an amazing tour, and Maria was a wonderful hostess to Verona.

Maria Pia was the most wonderful guide for a 3 hour tour of Verona finishing with Juliet’s house and balcony. Her knowledge of the subject was fantastic and she delivers her stories with such character and love. It was very hot but Maria made sure we had plenty of shady diversions to cool down plus water stops. I would 100% recommend Maria Pia …. You won’t be disappointed.

We had an amazing time on this tour, in large part to our fabulous tour guide, Maria Pia. Her bubbly energy was infectious and we learned a great deal about Verona through her magnificent story telling. It was an extremely hot day in Verona but Maira Pia got all of us water and tried to get us to the shade as much as possible. We thoroughly enjoyed this experience and would highly recommend!

This tour was amazing. There was a little bit of moving around with changing our time due to numbers being too high on the tour but I am so glad I agreed to change to a later time as it was just me and my fiancé with an amazing tour guide, Francesco which became like our own private little tour of Verona. Even with just the two of us booked at that time Francesco still went ahead with everything and even threw in a few detours with extra facts and history of Verona. All in all we have a fantastic time and would highly recommend. Francesco was funny, very friendly and very knowledgeable of Verona.

My niece and I had the most fabulous tour with Maria Pia in Verona! Maria is an incredible storyteller and really brings the history alive. She is very knowledgeable and engaging - we remember more facts from this tour than many others we went on in Europe! Maria went above and beyond to cover all of my niece's interests and questions relating to Romeo and Juliet, which she is studying at school at the moment. Maria also generously gave up her time the day after our tour to go back to one of the sights we visited to take a photo we forgot to take. Maria is truly extraordinary and we cannot thank or praise her highly enough. Thank you Maria!

We had a wunderfull walk through verona with our guide which we highly recommend! She was very knowledgable and did not only tell us about romeo and giulietta but also about veronas broader history. You could feel her passion for the city and its history and she kindly offered to take pictures of us whenever we got to a sight. We would have forgotten about taking pictures because we were so captured in her stories. Further she could answer all our questions and was just a lovely person to spend time with. We highly recomend the tour and the guide!

Last week I visited Verona for the very first time, and I must be honest: I was not sure about booking a city tour with a guide, because of my previous experiences in other cities, but then I changed my mind. I had the tour with Francesco and the result was that I fell in love with Verona, the city of love. If I could go back again, I would totally repeat the tour: it was worthy of every single penny spent!!
It felt like I was exploring the true spirit of Verona while listening through the history of this town, and that is all because of Francesco’s addiction and affection to the places. I am absolutely sure that I wouldn’t have discovered many of the gorgeous places we’ve been to without him.
His passion for the history, all the curiosities of the city that he told me and, on the top of all, the endless love-story of Romeo and Juliet are a precious souvenir that, thanks to Francesco, I will keep in my heart forever.
He really made me feel like I was a local girl!
Totally recommended!
