Avoid mytransfers.com in Venice. Totally unreliable.
Avoid mytransfers.com in Venice. After nobody met us at the airport, I managed to get my European sim card installed and contacted a chatbot through my transfers.com that provided our driver’s phone number. When we called, mytransfers.com’s driver claimed that we were not scheduled for pick up. We provided the booking number to show our contract. They insisted we were not on their customer list. Then 30 minutes later, they called back to say they had located our name but it would be another 20 minutes for the driver to show up. This company is a disaster. Guess what? Our friends landed 2 hr later and their driver was late, too. We all canceled every transfer scheduled with this pathetic company for the rest of our trip. Transfers were great after that!

        Beware, Venice port rip-off
We booked transfers Venice airport/port of fusina/venice airport. Upon arrival we were met by a great team and they explained that no checkin/embarcation is allowed at fusina, therefore they’d be taking us to the port of Venice, and that the cruise company would take us from there to the ship. All clear and all went fine. When returning, same procedure. When we checked out at the Venice port however, no driver. After numerous checks via the driver we had on arrival, we determined that the driver was at the fusina port and claimed that I booked incorrectly. Similar to our arrival, no passengers could disembark and be picked up at fusina, so it was obvious (which we learned from “my transfers”) that our pick up would be at the same place we were dropped off - even though we booked both directions to/from fusina. We were then forced to take a taxi (50€)to make our flight, and they have refused to refund even a portion of the fee paid although they didn’t provide the service paid for. To add to it, on the morning of the transfer I received an email confirming 0700 pickup after I had received a text from the first driver confirming 0830. No answer at any of the phone numbers provided to clarify or confirm.

Marco Polo Airport Venice, walk to the public water taxis, a boat servic straight to the Grand Canal for Central Venice
From Customs at Marco Polo Airport follow the blue and white water taxi signs. It’s probably a good ten minute walk inside the airport until you get to water....... very bizarre. The Alilaguna ticket office is on the left. Buy a return as it is far easier and keep that one ticket safe. The price is about £35.00 return. The water taxi boats are bright yellow with many multicoloured decals. You load your luggage onto where you sit. They have charging points for your phone behind your knees. Very handy. Enjoy a wonderful trip leading to the Grand Canal and into the crumbling splendour that is Venice. It’s an amazing overview of the layout of the city. Our outbound flight was delayed and I had a mini panic as I have used this service before during the day no problems, but I checked the boats and realised they stop just after midnight. Check the times for your return if you have a very early takeoff as they do not run for the whole 24 hours. We came into Venice when it was dark which was lovely. Went back in the daylight...... so many photo opportunities. It gives a completely different perspective from the water. There is a lovely cafe with tables and chairs right by the pier for the boat. The coffee and cake is very good. Nice to sit in the sun if you have time to kill before or after your flight.

At the Venice airport, the taxi driver was waiting for us with a sign with our name on it. In a large car, he took us in 20 minutes to the entrance to Venice where a water taxi was waiting for us. Passage through the grand canal and arrival at the apartment on the boat pontoon. Cost: 135 euros but it's worth it.

Water Taxi is a nice way to get to Venice. the way he loaded the boat suggested we were second off but he forgot us and had to go back. Generally a good experience and the return was right on time.
