We were take to some lovely authentic cafes and bars that we would not have found on our won and had time to purchase drinks along the way that were not included. - lizhayward520 contributionsVenice food and sightseeing tour.Excellent tour. Anna was a great guide. The food was delicious and served by lovely people. It was a very interesting walking tour and helped us find our way round Venice, and very good value for money. I would definitely recommend the tour. You won't need to eat again until the evening!Written September 24, 2024
- amylF4084IA0 contributionsjust okayless than stellar. guide was walking too fast and got lost in the crowds a few times. not much hx or information. disappointingWritten September 21, 2024
- H2987XYkimc0 contributionsVenetian cichettiGreat tour. Tone was a lovely tour guide, friendly and knowledgeable. We started by the Rialto bridge with a little pastry and a brief introdution to eating in Venice. We visited half a dozen venues and the Rialto market. We particularly enjoyed the oldest wine shop in Venice which had great character. There were a variety of fish meat and veggie options to try and tips for making the most of Venice's street food. The small group allowed us all to chat freely and that evening we made it back to some of our favourite venues. Definitely recommend.Written September 18, 2024

- Amy M0 contributionsMust doI have done a few food tours, and this one was by far the best. Our tour guide Dennis was amazing. We had plenty of food and drink throughout the tour along with some great information about the city. I would highly recommend using this company. go to this tour hungry because there is delicious food and drinkWritten April 19, 2024
- alli22890 contributionsHated itWe did not enjoy the tour at all. There was so many people that it was hard to hear or be close to the guide. The food at each stop was mediocre. We also had to stand in the alley each time while the guide went into places to retrieve the food. It was not fun or enjoyable in any way. We left before the last stop because we were hungry and went to get an actual good dinner elsewhere.Written April 2, 2024

- 452christinag0 contributionsGreat tour!Wonderful tour! Denys was so kind and knowledgeable. Never felt rushed. We had some great food that even my picky husband really enjoyed. We were able to see the "real" Venice - he showed us some tiny places that we never would've found on our own. Highly recommend!Written March 14, 2024
- maryi8160 contributionsDelicious food and wine for a great dealWe took a tour with Denys and it was wonderful! He was a great guide that had a lot of knowledge, was patient, and seemingly very well organized. Every stop was amazing; we had 6 total stops and every bite and wine was delicious. We really got a good bang for our buck and would recommend this tour to anyone looking for more authentic places to eat in Venice.Written September 24, 2023

- ckaplan23450 contributionsEating our way through the market. For our family that loves to eat, this is the perfect was to learn about the city. Dennis was amazing and we tried a wonderful variety of wines, cheeses, and cicchetti. Would recommend 100%Written July 8, 2023
- corym2250 contributionsTasty Bites and Excellent RecommendationsWe had a fantastic time wandering around Venice munching on Cicchetti and sipping fabulous wine and spritzes. We learned about all the specialties of Venice (polenta, squid, artichokes - different than Rome, Cynar, and Select). Our guide was a wealth of information and is enthusiastic about answering any questions (she told me a story about the ancient, 3-liter brass jugs decorating the ceiling of one of our wine stops - they were given to each family as their water allocation each day). I was trying to find a vegetarian-friendly restaurant to take some folks to that evening, and she shared a restaurant guide with me that she had made with lots of recommendations based on diets.Written June 21, 2023

We took this food tour on the day we arrived in Venice. It was a small group (9) including 4 of our party. Our guide was excellent! We went to a small bakery for Impade. Our next stop included Prosecco, pizza, arancini. We walked the streets which were not touristy and learned about this area of Venice. Stopped for Aperol Spritz and local appetizers. Next stop, meatballs and ombré wine. We also had dinner, Squid ink pasta and eggplant Parmesan, breads, tiramisu and wine at a small beautiful restaurant with exposed stone and wooden beams. Topped off the evening with gelato. Come hungry! This is a great way to get local foods and have a fun evening with a local that can tell you some history of the area. I would absolutely recommend this tour. I had never done anything like this before but I’m telling everyone about it!

Great explanation of the history of the ghetto and the people who lived there over the centuries. This was our first time in this part of Venice and we loved walking some of its narrow streets. We also learned about the significance of the food and drink in culture.

Denys was a very knowledgeable guide with a great sense of humour. We learned a little of history even tho it was a food based tour. He introduced a lot of food and local drinks to us. Clearly explained the different types of eateries in Venice. We were lucky to be a group of only 5. Great start to our Venice trip. Highly recommend

We were sent an email 45 minutes before the tour was cancelled. As we were already walking to the start, we never saw it. Waited 15 minutes, called and texted and then found this out. Very disappointed!

October 31, 2019: Halloween in Venice!
First, this is not Jewish food being served, but believe it is all kosher. It is set in the Jewish Quarter, which was interesting to explore. Our guide, Silvia, was wonderful! We enjoyed her narrative during the tour, it was also very instructive and interesting. A great job well done. Thank you again Sylvia! It was full of wonderful gastronomic food. There was plenty to eat, including a choice of a FULL dinner serving of a pasta dish, lasagna or spaghetti with clams. The food was delicious and trying out things we had never tried before.
p.s. Halloween in Venice was fun & seeing all the youngsters in costume. The shops gave out treats.

We had visited the ghetto before but were gifted this trip by our kids - who know like these kind of interactions. We were delighted to see that it was just my wife and I who had booked that afternoon - and we were guided by Monica - with a local friend of hers in tow. She was a delight. We learned so much more that just the history of the ghetto and the tour extended in a much longer stroll through Cannaregio with Monica readily keeping us informed and engaged with the local history and culture. The gelato tasting was excellent but as we didn't want to spoil our supper we limited ourselves to only a (generous) scoop each - despite Monica's imploring us to have a whole lot more! Very much recommend this to you.

We loved this tour! We learned about the role of Jews in Venetian history, visited historic sites, and ate at 6 different sites. The food improved by each stop, w/gelato, the last stop, the best we've ever had. The guide Sylvia was engaging and knowledgeable, very charming.

We LOVED this tour ! One of our best experiences during our week in Venice ! Alicia, our guide, was fantastic. She chooses the food and wine stops herself, knows every owner and tastes everything! So of course everything was delicious ! Many stops, good variety and quantity. This food/whine tour is combined with a guided walking tour of the Canareggio Sestiere. We learned about the history the sestiere and the people who lived there. Alicia is so knowledgeable and made the tour interesting and lively. Alicia also showed us how, nowadays, Canareggio is one of the most authentic parts of the town. The sestiere is outside the beaten path. A lot of Venetians live there. The friendly atmosphere, the children playing in the "campos", the restaurants and bars crowded with locals at night... Just writing about it makes me dream of going back!..

My wife and I booked this tour to see some of the more local sights off the beaten path. We were not disappointed. We were pleasantly surprised when we showed up for the tour and it was just us and Alice. The food and restaurant choices Alice made were excellent. You can tell she has a passion for food and also the City of Venice. We actually saw Alice the next two days out and about. It was nice that she remembered us. You can tell she enjoys her job and makes it very personal.

Any chance we can get a tour, even shortened tour of the getto on the 28th after 6:00. We are 2 people
Written August 23, 2019
A shorter tour might mean less food stops. If you have to skip any of the food shops for sure skip the first one, which is at a kosher restaurant. Good luck!

Hi, we are staying in Lido di Jesolo. If it finishes at 9pm, is it possible to get back to Lido? Thanks.
Written July 12, 2019
Possible, yes. The ACTV's Vaporetti lines 12, 13, & 14 run to Treporti and 12, 14, 15, and 22 run to Punta Sabbioni SP from Venice. Run is about an hour. If you google "ACTV Venice" you can find english schedules
