- librecommelair0 contributionsGreat guide, perfect visit! My friend and I could not have been happier with the visit. Sarah was knowledgeable, personable and interesting. It was all that a private guided visit could be: she asked us questions, paid excellent attention to our desires and tailored the visit to our wishes. She showed us the important must/sees but also amazing views, little known lively and beautiful neighborhoods, introduced us to talented artisans who gave us a private demonstration of their craft and one of the best restaurants we ate at in Venice. She deserves all the stars on the scale plus some!Written September 23, 2024
- 999mitchf0 contributionsBest tour guide in veniceElena was amazing—our favorite tour guide by far! She was knowledgeable, incredibly nice, and such a pleasure to be around. We learned so much about Venice and its history, and the tour was a highlight of our trip. We highly recommend booking with her and would do so again if we return to Venice!Written September 22, 2024
- Z629IKpeterr0 contributionsSemplicemente perfettoThe title says it all. Time spent with Giada is an absolute delight. Her style and approach to guiding is very empathetic. Whilst relaying lots of fascinating information about every site visited, she remained conscious of what we might have seen previously, and reacts accordingly. The end result is that we were able to see and find out about locations we had not previously encountered. Next time we visit Venice we will be in touch with Giada to arrange more excellent tours for us.Written September 20, 2024

To truly enjoy a city with so much history it helps to have insight into its past, Marzia has this in spades! Marzia’s knowledge of the city, her passion for her topic and her delightful personality really made our introduction to Venice a perfect way to kick off our trip. Wish every city had a Marzia!Written September 10, 2024

- L3247KXanthonyb0 contributionsMarzia - Our wonderful GuideMarzia was unbelievably brilliant. Although we arrived in Venice during peak season, my wife and I decided we would like to have a tour of one of the quieter areas before we attacked the extremely busy main attractions. As our hotel was on her route to the meeting point, Marzia very kindly picked us up from our hotel, which was so amazing. Our first sojourn into Venice was with an experience Venetian. She shared with us both her knowledge and friendly personality, her guided tour through Dorsoduro District was leisurely, informative and thoroughly enjoyable. Marzia was our wonderful guide and made our first experience of Venice truly magical. Thank you, Marzia.Written September 3, 2024
- pattiwY2635LM0 contributionsEnjoyable Walking TourLoris was a lovely tour guide. Venice is a very busy place, overrun in many places with tourists. Loris took us on a very interesting walk, visiting places we never would have seen otherwise - in areas where there were no tourists! Highly recommend. Especially at the beginning of your visit to Venice so you can find places to revisit later in your stay.Written August 31, 2024
- mikewW9598YS0 contributionsGreat time in VeniceGenny was an absolutely wonderful guide that despite the intense heat that day, gave us a wonderful experience seeing parts of Venice I had no idea about and really, mostly only local people know about. I often travel to that area and mostly only ventured to where all the tourist go. But she showed us the real Venice that only a real venetian could do.. I highly recommend her to anyone wanting to experience Venice off the beaten path..Written August 16, 2024
- DZunda0 contributionsAmazing tour hearing about Amazing womenThis was the second tour of the day with Lucia. She has so much knowledge and was wonderful to hear many interesting stories about some of the women who were important in Venice's history. She also took us to different off the beaten track places that otherwise we would never have seen. I loved that we ended at a woman led mask making store. If you have a chance book this tour with Lucia.Written August 15, 2024
- Barbara D0 contributionsWonderfulClaudia gave our family a wonderful time showing us her special areas in Venice. She was warm, enthusiastic and fun and her stories about Venetian life now and in past times were fascinating for our teenagers and very interesting for the adults. We saw & discovered things we would never have found on our own. She had fun activities for the girls, which the adults also joined in, we ate cakes & pastries at the best bakery and she gave us many suggestions for visiting & eating for the next few days. Our walk with Claudia was a highlight of our time in Venice.Written August 10, 2024

We were really looking forward to this. Our guide was very courteous and friendly throughout, but we were very disappointed that our tour didn’t “explore Venice’s sophisticated food scene” as promised, or give any insight into it.
This was a guided tour of a lovely area in Venice that varied from the tourist areas, with five breaks for snacks.
Five of our ten “tastings” were cicchetti - chosen for us - three at the start accompanied by a glass of wine, two more at the end (ham/cheese on bread) without even water to drink (we were asked when we’d finished eating if we’d like something to drink). We had two stops for pastries, one of which was accompanied by a glass of wine.
We were shown some interesting landmarks that we would not have happened upon on our own, but were taken aback by the suggestion that we pay an additional fee of €10 p.p. to while away some time in a palace where we had stopped for coffee (our other “tasting”) when we had already paid €300 for 3 hours.
We did not feel that we got value for money; we felt shortchanged. If we had our time over again, we would not book this tour, but would explore more of the backstreets and food/drink establishments of Venice ourselves.

Giada spoke about her home city with such passion and expertise that
it was hard not to fall in love with Venice. She knew great places to
take us for food and drink that were off the tourist path and
accommodated our vegetarian needs. I would love to take a tour with
her again.

From the photos and reviews we booked this private tour as it looked like we would get an upscale experience of a large variety of foods & wines to try. Sadly when we took the tour, we were rushed (1.5 hrs instead of the 3 hrs promised), often asked if we wouldn't rather share one item instead of getting our own, basically ate on the way between stops, stopping only twice to enjoy the food. It made us feel as if the guide was getting the remaining money on what wasn't spent on getting our tastings on the tour. Beyond that instead of tasting the variety expected from the photos our guide shared the same fried cichetti with us at 3 stops. The guide also had no idea about any of the wines he was ordering us not even able to tell us the wine's name. Of the foods we tried very few were of a reflection of the best Venice has to offer, that we could find on our own going through Venice. It was disappointing and not what we expected for the price.

" The tour with Giada was great; she told us a lot of interesting things about Venice history and the buildings we saw on our way. Besides being very knowledgable and smart, she was also very sensitive. We had two little kids with us, so we were a bit slow, but that was not an issue for her. She never looked at her watch, she simply stayed longer. She was so gorgeous, i had the feeling that we had known each other longer (which we of course did not) and she was not a host, but a friend showing us her city. You cannot go wrong with her. The selected pubs and eateries were also great, we liked all of them. I recommend doing the tour as a start, so you can revisit the places you liked the most. Giada sent us an itinerary with great suggestions for our whole stay. In fact we could not visit all places, so I guess we have to go back! "

We had a fantastic afternoon with Lloris. He showed us parts of Venice we would never have discovered on our own and we enjoyed some delicious food and drinks.
We would thoroughly recommend this tour if you want to see the authentic city away from the usual tourist areas.

I can't recommend this tour highly enough. Loris is the ideal tour guide for your trip to Venice! We had a great time exploring the best spots in the city for all different kinds of food and drinks. He speaks impeccable English and Italian, has lived in Venice for over a decade, is completely informed about the city and its politics, history, food, and architecture. He's doing sommelier training so it felt like we also benefited from his wine knowledge. We ate delicious food and learned a lot, but the tour feels as though you are spending the day with a close friend. Loris is the best guide to show you the best parts of Venice!

When we visit a new city we try and start with a food tour with a local guide. As well as introducing local specialities and culture, you often find bars and restaurants that you can return to later in the trip! The 'Withlocals' tour with Giulia - who lives on the main island of Venice - was no disappointment. Giulia was informative, knowledgable and fun to be with. We certainly saw bars, tried Venetian food and drink that we would have been unlikely to try without Giulia's expert guidance. A great way to spend two hours away from the crowds!

Genny was an awesome tour guide. She answered all of our questions and made sure my teenaged son got the pizza he wanted. I enjoyed spending time with Genny. The tour was well worth the money spent.

We had the pleasure of having Genny as our personal guide in Venice. Her 10 Tastings were great, but her company and story telling about the food and the place was worth the cost. 3 hours of roaming the city and eating our way through restaurants and bars was fun and entertaining.

What a perfect way to begin our time in Venice. Alexandra was the perfect host - fun, very knowledgeable and completely local. Having a guide who is a part of the fabric of the city makes so much difference. I would recommend this at any time but as a starting point for your Venice trip you can't beat it.
