There are 8 stops on this tour with plenty of food to make sure you do not need breakfast nor dinner. You will start your day with some coffee, like the Italians do. Venice has a tradition that goes a long way back in time in making tasty pastries, and you will get to try some of the heavenly delicious pastries that the Venetian has to offer. After your sweet tooth has been satisfied, stroll through some wine bars and savor typical Venetian drinks accompanied by the famous cicchetti. Try 5-6 different types of fish and learn how each dish is created. Even Venice is known for seafood dishes, there are some delicious local cured meat that you have to try too! Then go to the backstreet, visit the oldest bar, find out where the famous lover in history used to frequent and of course try their signature dish. After that, crawl your way to get some traditional Venetian cookies and learn why they are so good, and the tour will end with some authentic gelato! During this gelato stop, the guide will explain how to identify good quality gelato shops even in a middle of a touristy place. The wonderful food provided on the the tour are all in season to make sure all of our clients try the freshest recipes.  (On Tuesday morning, and Saturday afternoon tour, or on a special holiday there is a possibility that there would be no risotto, but we will replace it with another local favourite or dish of the day!)

Recommend attending on arrival in Venice.
Elena was a fantastic guide, the best! Making the tour entertaining with her naturally bubbly personality, local knowledge of where to eat and drink in Venice to avoid tourist traps and overpricing as well as sustainable tourism to maximise experiencing the local cuisine, wine and authentic locations. I genuinely highly recommend taking the tour at your earliest convenience on arrival in Venice to benefit from local knowledge in such an enjoyable way walking the streets of Venice. Thank you Elena, Carmel, Australia

Book this, book this now. You will not be disappointed.
This was one of the best food tours I've ever done. Sara.theGuide takes you to all the hidden gems, with all the best dishes. From dessert before dinner, to the strawberry wine, to learning how to eat pasta properly, it was spectacular. She treats you like her friends, and provides you with all the little secrets of Venice. This was a highlight of our trip and made us fall in love with Venice even more.

    Food and Wine at Best
This tour was worth every penny! Val was such a wealth of information and took us to places that we wouldn't be able to find our own. The restaurant and bar owners know her quiet well and had every thing ready for us before we've got there. We even got to try many *local dish only and off the menu made specifically for us. Lots of delicious food and wine.

    Falling in LOVE with Venice
Martina was our tour guide, she was so knowledgeable about the food and wine. She got us some pastries and we stopped to get Gelato! This was my first time touring a country solo, and this tour made me feel empowered to do more solo travel and visit local spots and try the local foods! Overall, I loved this tour and it made me fall in love with Venice. Thank you, Martina!

She managed everything so well and it was such a great way to see the city. We eat at lots of places and got to try so many different foods and wine. The tour was supposed to be 3 hours, however it was over in 2 hours. The atmosphere was flat, even thought the group was trying to be lively. The places we visited were all lovely and we would try to find them again, but they were too small for the group, it made for an uncomfortable visit, maybe keep groups to 4 max. Each stop felt very rushed, and it would have been much more enjoyable to have a wine or beer paired to each food choice, as you were left a little stodged out with the food and nothing to refresh your taste buds with. We had 2 small glass if wine during the whole tour, which for £72 (UK) was quite expensive. I'm afraid I wouldn't recommend this tour. Which is disappointing.

Dear Helen, thank you for taking the time to write your review. We are very happy that you enjoyed the food provided during the tour and would like to revisit these restaurants. Your feedback s very important for us because we always try to look for ways to improve the tour to provide a better experience, however, what you described is exactly what we have on this tour description. Did you mean to book a different tour that we have ? On your tour, there are 8 stops for food and tasting with dinner with minimum of 2 wines ( depending on the group and the size of the group, sometimes there re more wine), so you got 2 wines and a bottle of water. If you wanted a tour with wine at every single stop, we have that as well, and the tour is called "Eat, drink and repeat " where there are 6 stops of Restaurants, bars with 6 nice variety of local wine to pair with the food. This wine focused tour has a more focus on wine while your tour has more food. Second thing is that , on the tour description, this tour is anywhere between 2.5 hours to 3 hours depending on the size of the group, you still had the same amount of food and information, and your tour started at 5:30 pm.and finished at 8:20 pm, so like the tour description. I'm sorry that you felt the tour was rushed. We strive to find a balance between keeping the tour running on time and the pace and dynamic of the group because someone on the tour might have another tour they must go to later on, and they count on the tour guide moving the tour along on time so they dont miss out on anything, so we try to be on time. The restaurants and bars in Venice are small, and the one we take you too are popular so it s crowded and it may feel smaller than it actually is. We take you to places where the locals go, and if you feel like only 4 people should be on the tour then we suggest a private tour option. Venice s locals bars and restaurants are very small, and if our group dont stand there, there would be other locals eating there that make the places very crowded anyway especially during the peak hours or holidays. They are so because they are known for their food, which you also mentioned in your review that you liked the food and would like to revisit them. I'm sorry that you find the tour expensive and we are very sad that you think so considering how expensive Venice is. We are very proud to provide best value for your money with the tours we offered, so if you find others provide you the same quality of guide and quality and quantity of food on the tour for a lower price , we could fully refund you. Thank you again for taking the time to write the review, and we hope to welcome you on the correct tour that fit you better the next time since you like wine at every stop, the " eat, drink and repeat " tour. Thank you again and enjoy the rest of your vacation

We arrived at the church by the Rialto bridge and Anna was waiting for us. We started on time as we introduced each other.

We walked through the market close to the Rialto bridge, although as we were on a later tour, the fish market was over.

First stop was a cichetti bar close by where I had a whipped salted cod open sandwich. Delicious. Anna explained about the history of cichetti, about the reason why certain dishes have been created, while we ate.

We wandered round the narrow streets of San Polo while Anna pointed out buildings, shops, told stories about food, in between each food stop. We visited a few cichetti bars which each had their own specialties. We sampled wines.

We tried prosciutto, ham, cheeses in a small deli and bought a bottle of a heavenly balsamic condiment to take home.

After the savouries came the sweet - cakes, pastries and amazing gelateria.

All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 hour tour and we will do it again if we revisit Venice. A perfect way to experience the city and one definitely to be a DO NOT MISS THIS tour.

Thank you Anna. We had a great time and ate far too much!! 😃

After rereading the other reviews I think the guide can make or break the experience. We have done food tours in other cities in Italy and been impressed. This one was disappointing. Our guide was a gentleman who seemed to be going through the motions as he ushered us in and out of places. The portions were small and the explanations pretty basic - along the lines of here’s some sweet salami and 24 mo cheese. No introduction to the shop owners, no explanation about what’s special about the single slice of salami or pebble size piece of cheese we were offered. At the restaurants it seemed no one was expecting our group. The pasta con vongole was ok but we could have done just as well finding similar food on our own and asking a waiter who cared about their food. I think this tour would be a different experience if you get one of the guides others rave about…,

Great experience. Third time in Venice, 2nd time doing the food tour, and didn't regret it. Super savory local "cicchetti" or as some tourists call it, "Italian tapas" but do not refer to them as tapas to a local. It is a no-no as they are very different in style, ingredients, and how they are prepared, only similarity is the small portions like tapas. Highly recommend as you start with some cicchetti, go to a restaurant to have several other dishes such as local pasta and seafood. All of this is also accompanied by some alcoholic beverages, whether it be local red wine or prosecco, which should attract drinkers as well. Great tour guide as well, extremely accommodating, and willing to work with people with food restrictions, diet, allergies, etc.

We came hungry and we left hungry. Aside from a very expensive history lesson by a very knowledgeable guide there is not much good can be said about this lack of "foodie" tour. Also the time we booked it for was canceled and we had to schedule for the next day. Changing all our plans. The food and wine offered was minimal, underwhelming. And likely didn’t amount to over 20 Euro per person. This should be advertised as a historical guide to Venice with some food and wine tastings. And charge half the price. Overall a giant disappointment for the Money.

Dear Rick, I am so very sorry that you still feel hungry after the tour. We always ask you on the tour if you are full, and will offer extra food. This says on your voucher. With dinner or lunch included in the 7 or 8 stops , with wine alone , if you can find a company offer for less in Venice, we can fully refund you. Venice is an expensive city. The pasta alone in the tour is about 20 Euros per person with cover charge If you go on your own, plus over 10 other types of food and wine so your statement that it cost 20 Euros per person is not possible. And for you , and others reading the review, if you were still hungry after our last stop, we offer more food always if you can eat more and most of our reviews , as you see, customers are really full

What a great trip! We’d arrived in Venice a few hours earlier and this was a brilliant introduction to the city. Our guide was a friendly, amusing, informative guy and we met some really interesting people in our group of 16. The ciccetti (local tapas), food in an authentic Italian restaurant and variety of wines, Prosecco and spritz was enough to ensure we all had fun and chat over the 3 hours. I’d definitely recommend it!

As a family of 4 we have never done this kind of tour before, but I booked it thinking it would help us find out way around the city and be a fun activity and we were not disappointed. We did this tour on our first morning in Venice with 2 children (19 and 16) and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The tour guide kept things moving, managed the group of 16 really well and ensured we all got to try everything at each stop. The food was plentiful, the wine flowed and we got to learn some top tips that we tried to make use of for the rest of our stay in Venice. And we all definitely tried some new and interesting foods. All in all it was worth the money and a great way to spend 3 hours!

Very good way to discover what Venice has to offer food wise. We were the first tour in months after Corona and we enjoyed the much more authentic atmosphere now the city is less touristic. Anna was a very nice guide and the food was delicious and sumptuous! Highly recommended

Do not book this trip. We have been on many food tours and this was by far the worst. It was billed as small group and ours had 21 people. We were notified by text message earlier in the day a guide had canceled. We were told the group would be a little bigger than normal but fine. We were told they would split it into two smaller groups. It wasn’t fine at all. Our guide did the best she could but with 21 people in the tiny narrow alleys of Venice it was impossible hear her. So we missed most of the narrative and explanations. We only entered one of the establishments, the rest we stood outside and ate in the street because our group was so large. The one place at the fish market was especially awful as when we got there another (much smaller) tour group was inside talking with the people who worked there. We never got in and the food (fried) was cold by the time they brought it out to us. Another disaster was at each place we were served different things meaning for 21 people there were a couple of each of 10 different desserts so they passed a tray around in the street and you had to hope the one you wanted to try was still there by the time it was your turn to pick. This happened multiple times. The guide kept apologizing over and over. She told us the group was triple the normal size and they were doing the best they could. The last stop was supposedly the best gelato in Venice. Google what fake versus real gelato looks like….the one we had is what every single guide tells you not to eat. Big mound of bright colored puffy uncovered “gelato”. Attempts to contact the tour company at the beginning to leave and get a refund were met with silence. Huge waste of time and money. Go with a different company, I wish Eating Europe had tours in Venice. Their tours in Florence and Rome were incredible and highlights of our trips. This one should be avoided at all costs.

Hello Jennifer. You were fully aware of everything you wrote before the tour as we told you one of our guides were sick and we had to combine the tour group. We messaged you asking if you would like to cancel and refund or move to another date because there will be 21 people exactly or stay and get more food and wine. You were fully aware of this and still decided to join! Noone forced you to take this tour, and we were happily give you the full refund BEFORE you participated in the tour. It is also Written All Over the voucher that , if you don't want to join the tour because for whatever reasons, there are more people than stated, you can walk away and get a full refund before the tour, even 1 minute before the tour started. But no, you didn't want to do that, you wanted to do the tour and also requested a refund !!!and when there was no refund( because of all the extra food and drink you happily consumed ) , you have gotten upset when you, yourself agreed to exactly this condition !!! I'm sorry that we couldn't satisfy you though you could easily get full refund BEFORE the tour. If you hated the tour so much, why did you continue on the tour and finish it ? You could leave in the middle and demanded a partial refund. It is unfortunate that one of our guides were sick, it is even more unfortunate to encounter customers like you who wants every one to work for them for free .

Absolutely wonderful. There were about 10 of us and each stop we got more wine and delicious food and just slowly all started making friends with each other and had a blast. I definitely think our guide’s kind and heartfelt description of Venice’s best food and drink made us all feel more relaxed and willing to talk with one another.

The food and drink was spectacular and special, each place having a unique style but purely Venice. I couldn’t have asked for a better tour!
