Highlights
Explore the islands of Murano and Burano by private boat from Venice
See local artisans blowing glass and creating intricate lace
Learn about the history and culture of the islands from your guide
Enjoy the individual attention of a small-group tour
What to expect
Meet your private guide in central Venice and head to the pier to board your private boat. Set sail around the UNESCO-listed Venice Lagoon and admire the views as you glide past San Giorgio island, Certosa island, and Sant Erasmo island. Arrive at Murano Island and jump off for a walking tour of the tranquil island, pausing to admire the 12th-century Church of Santi Maria e Donato. Then, discover the island’s claim to fame—Murano glass—as you visit a glass factory, enjoy a traditional glass-blowing demonstration, and perhaps purchase some exquisite hand-made souvenirs. Back on the boat, it’s a short cruise to Burano Island, where the multi-colored houses and picturesque fishing port make for some striking photo opportunities. After taking in the scenery, pay a visit to a lace factory to discover the island’s rich lace-making heritage. After returning to the mainland, your tour ends back in San Marco Square.

Very nice half-day excursion
This trip is excellent value and very enjoyable. Murano was great but my favourite was Burano - so beautiful. Thanks to our guide Luca who shared a pleasant mealtime with the group in a tried and tested restaurant!

Great view and places
We went with the boat first to a Murano glass factory and we're shown how the glasses are produced. After we discovered the island some more and in the last part we went to the Island Burano, which we personally liked the most of all places we had seen in Venice.

I would recommend this tour, it was great to see Venice and get something to know about it.

An enjoyable excursion that I would have liked to be longer.

I very much enjoyed this trip. Our multi-lingual guide was kept busy with all of the translations because there was so much for him to relate to us.
We landed on Murano by the glass works. A fascinating demonstration of glass blowing was given with the creation of a vase followed by the creation of a horse figurine; we spent a good half hour walking around the glass works' shop . We then had an enjoyable walk around Murano.
Following Murano we headed across to Burano. We were taken to a lace shop before being released to make our own way around the island to take photos and/or buy food; we had roughly 50 mins to investigate Burano. If you wanted to explore and take some photos and get a meal there wasn't much time.

Murano,Burano fabulous trip
Aug 2020 • Family
The whole trip was lovely. Easy to find the guide and a decent boat that could probably have held 60 people to our 10. The glass blowing factory was really interesting. Plus a little guided tour to the cathedral was great and the detail of the floor well explained. Quick drink of Prosecco on our way from Murano to Burano provided on the boat. Burano was gorgeous. We had enough time to explore and have lunch at the cafe the guide recommended. The guide was Alex, I think, and he was very good.

A must-do activity.

This was a fun, interesting and great value for money activity. The Murano glass factory was very interesting and cool to see up close. We had a nice lunch in Burano where we ate some of the local seafood. Being on a boat to get around was a great way to escape the sweltering heat! The tour was on-time, the guide was friendly and helpful.

Awesome tour guide!

Mr Gianluca is very knowledgeable about the venetian culture and is very user friendly. He made sure to keep the interest of the youngest to the oldest in our group.
Definitely will book another trip with him.

Wonderful tour

Had a great half day. Our guide Virginia was lovely and very informative. Each place we visited, she shared her knowledge. The amount of time we spent in each place was right though I wish we had a little more time in Murano to enjoy our lunch throughly (has to rush to swallow, LOL)

An excellent and informative outing
Feb 2020
I would definitely recommend this excursion. Meeting up with our guide Alessandro was not difficult and he was very informative and amusing throughout the trip (a really nice person). I have been to Venice on a number of occasions but felt I 'learned' so much more on this outing. Enough time was made available on both Murano and Burano, the boat was very good and we both enjoyed a nice lunch on Burano.

Brilliant Excursion
Our guide, "Alex" (Alessandro) was very friendly and knowledgeable about Venice, Murano and Burano. He kept us entertained during the foggy crossing back to Venice and there with stories of the citizens past and present. Each place has its own feel ans they are well worth a visit.
