- 887janettal0 contributionsNot worth the $Real waist of money.. a 20 min around the block in traffic with other gondolas. Take you $ elsewhere. No private tour touch at all.. could have done it without prior booking and for lesser price.Written July 11, 2024
- MarisiaMuir0 contributions1 hr Venetian mask paintingThis was a great activity! Good one for a family. We choose a mask to paint and spent an hour doing it. I was hoping for a bit more explanation of the art of mask making and examples to help the children do theirs. For the price, an hour was quite quick. If we had 1.5 hrs, I would have chosen a bigger mask and enjoyed it more.Written June 24, 2024
- L8377FFmichaelp0 contributionsTerrible experienceWe were quite disappointed when we got to Rome's train station and found our train canceled because of a rail strike which we knew nothing about. We called right away to tell them we were unable to get to Venice and they refused to give us a refund because it was past their 24 hour deadline. Evidently this rail strike was planned and we had no way to know that. Trip advisor/Viator also refused a refund. Please check ahead of time and don't let this happen to you!Written June 23, 2024
- KathyG310 contributionsA Golden Duck Venetian Mask was CreatedPainting my Venetian mask was such a fun and relaxing experience on a warm hectic day in Venice. I had a lot of choices of masks to chose from and a large choice of paints to create my own unique mask. A family with young children joined me and it was fun to watch them have just as much fun as I did and for them to be successful in creating a treasured souvenir.Written June 22, 2024
- TMG200 contributionsExcellent tour with a knowledgeable guideWe really enjoyed this tour and Sarah our guide was excellent and knowledgeable. It lasted about 3 hours, starting in Doge’s Palace and ending in St Mark’s Basilica. There was time to look around and take photographs with a break for a drink etc.Written June 15, 2024
- 584raman0 contributionsOkay experience. It was an okay tour. Definitely just a little overrated compared to how they described it. It was less than 1/2 hour and the driver did not interact at all. It also is cheaper if u buy there. I would do once. We had it better in BelgiumWritten June 8, 2024

- DeborahGeering0 contributionsFabulous experience, great for kids and a really wonderful break from the packed streets of Venice!Really fun workshop, kids and adults all loved it, the location is great, lots of masks to choose from and very easy to get going. The lady who helped us was really kind and helped the kids so much. Highly recommend this short of peace and tranquility in beautiful crazy Venice .Written June 4, 2024

- 660haroldd0 contributionsDon't Waste Your Money On This Gondola RideThis is a complete waste of money. The gondola went into the Grand Canal for about 5 minutes and then turned into a narrow side waterway with nothing but brick buildings on either side to circle back to the starting point. It was over in less than 25 minutes with nothing of interest to see after the gondola left the Grand Canal. I consider it to be a complete tourist rip off.Written May 29, 2024
- Tourist6430910 contributionsVenecia is a magical cityMarina was a spectacular tour guide, full of knowledge about the city history. We had a great time. Finding the tour office was a little big difficult but we stop and asked at every restaurants and kiosks through our way and finally arrived just in time!.Written May 23, 2024
- H8547KVsusanr0 contributionsOk but not to excitingThe tour was ok. Many more people than I had expected. Of course pouring rain did not help, but that is not the fault of the tour company. I would have thought the tour of the Murano glass factory would have given some history about the creation of the glass, etc. not just a 10 minute glass blowing demonstration and then on to the show room to try to sell you stuff. The glass was very beautiful, but think they could sell more if one knew the history behind it. On to Burano, where lace is their claim to fame, but again no history. On to Torcello which did have an interesting history, but not the most exciting. The boat ride back to Venice was good and very scenic dive the rain had stopped. Like I said it was ok, but not the best.Written May 22, 2024
- CJs_Squad0 contributionsTour with “fast pass”The guide was very knowledgeable and spoke English. She did not have a flag to follow. The meet up spot was a bit tricky. But we did find it. The tours of Doge and St. Marks were fantastic. I would recommend. Wear comfy shoes and bring water. Also we did not stop for human breaks so use the water closet before you go.Written May 19, 2024

I bought these tickets online & received a ‘ticket’ which could be downloaded to my Apple wallet BUT then found these were not entry tickets and needed to be changed at a location in the square on the day. Despite given directions to find a specific souvenir stand to make the exchange, we found it difficult to locate! Staff at Doge’s could not help us so we walked the entire area in boiling heat, searching and asking several shop assistants until we finally located right over the other side of St Marks Square down a side road…and eventually changed our ‘ticket’ for an actual ‘entry paper ticket’ then having to walk back to Doge’s skip-the-line queue to finally get in. The experience was frustrating and stressful, one we would not repeat. Unfortunately I’d also bought tickets for the Basilica from GetYourGuide and again ‘tickets’ had to be changed but this time by relying on WhatsApp to send the real entry. The entire thing was bizarre and frustrating. We have traveled all over the world and never known anything like it. In future I will buy entry tickets from the venue directly.

We went to the meeting place at the correct time but no one was there. Another guide from another company called the people who were supposed to have a tour with and they said it was a mistake. So no tour, no tickets, and awaiting our refund. Very disappointing but we got in later in the day for half the price.

Dear Deb, our staff was at the meeting point. You went to the wrong provider and could not find our staff there.
Due to a misunderstanding with the guy who talked with my colleague on the phone, you were told that this was a mistake, but our staff was actually waiting for you there at the meeting point.
Since you were given wrong information and could not do the tour, we exceptionally allowed your refund.
Kind regards

I would not recommend this tour company. My family and I arrived 15 minutes early at the meeting site. I asked about 10 people if they were the tour guide for the palace tour. About 5 people said they didn't understand English and 5 said no. I also did not see any sign for the tour. We missed the tour and we were still charged for the tour. I contacted the company for a refunded because it was not my fault I could not find the tour guide.

If i could do zero or negative stars, i would.
Went to place as described on location at exact time and guide nowhere to be found. Asked for refund and rejected. This happened at 2 tours same day from same operator. Very frustrating. Also, no answer when called operator or messaged operator.

We bought this ‘Skip the line’ option as we had limited time to visit the Doge’s Palace. As we got there, however, we were referred to a line of somewhat 150 people ahead of us - only slightly shorter than the regular one. After waiting 45+ minutes, we had to give up our entire visit. Money down the drain. Company refused a refund for the unused tickets even though they were named ‘Skip the line’ which was was obviously not true. Worst value ever.

I was worried the the tour would be very basic & we wouldn’t get too much out of it when I saw the size of the tour group. However The guide was exceptionally knowledgeable & very enthusiastic. She also had a fabulous sense of humour & delivered the information at a good pace. This was my favourite part of the trip to Venice

Have the hotel concierge arrange the skip the line service. Otherwise, you could find yourself standing in line for hours along with thousands of other tourists.

Had some other churches and basilicas on our tour, so chose to do Doge's Palace without St Marks. Good choice, we felt, as this is worth a visit all of its own. Fascinating insight into the administration of the Venetian Republic, typically destroyed by Napoleon's ego. Some glorious rooms and artwork, and our guide was exceptional in explaining the background, which was just as well as there was some delay in entering as they were short of a guide for a group up the line. As we were in the shade waiting, it didn't matter to us. Considering it was in July, the numbers allowed inside were quite reasonable. Would revisit.

Bought tickets online the day before. Alarm bells rang when all I got was a link to a bar code ticket on the internet. Worked ok at my hotel, but the download link to get a local copy of the ticket on my phone did not work despite repeated attempts. Also of course I did not have access to a printer to print the tickets as I was on holiday. Never mind; surely Doge's Palace will have internet access and so I will be able to show the internet ticket at the gate? But there is no internet or phone signal available at Doge's Palace at all. Tried talking to the staff inside Doge's Palace who were completely unhelpful and did not recognise the ticket purchased as valid, and really couldn't have cared less. All I could show them was a message from Tripadvisor on my phone, I could not access the ticket as no internet available. Awful experience. I will never trust a mobile ticket again. Without a piece of paper with a barcode in your hand, you will not get in to Doge's Palace. Could have bought a ticket at the gate and gone straight in, but didn't bother as I didn't think the venue derserved the money. Wasted 84 euros, a couple of hours getting there and back, and felt really fed up with the whole experience.

I was going to be late (15 minutes) but wanted to find out if it was possible to catch up with the group inside the museum or make other arrangements. The telephone went to voicemail every try even though I called multiple times. I emailed, no one responded to that either.
When I got to the Doge’s palace they would not let me in saying they did not recognize the ticket purchased from park Viaggi tour company.
I had to buy another ticket at the Doge’s Palace and I got an audio guide.
Very disappointing and a bit of a scam whereby there is no accountability. Park Viaggi would not be my first pick.
Thanks

We are really sorry to read you review. We are a trustworthy and honest company and make everything is in our possibility to help our customers.
The number you called is always available, maybe you did not dial the "0039" correctly for the country code.
In any case, the ticket you purchased on TripAdvisor for our Doge's Palace tour is not a direct entry ticket, as specified in the product description. You need to present it to our staff at the meeting point (15 min before starting time), they will exchange it for your entrance ticket and then assign you to a guide.
Once the tour has started is not possible to join the group inside the Palace anymore due to safety reasons.
We hope that you will have the opportunity to change idea about our services in the future.
Very kind regards,
Park Viaggi Staff

Are they accepting vaccinated Americans with the white vaccine card?
Written September 10, 2021
you say that a green card is needed, as an american we don't have green cards, will proof of vaccine do? I will be in venice sept 29
Written August 19, 2021
It states that the Doge's Palace is now only open to those with an EU Green Card. There is no way for Americans to get a Green Card. However, I do have my Pfizer vaccine card, and have a digital copy of it on my phone in the My Wallet app. Will this not work? From reading this, it seems only members of the EU would be allowed entry. Is this correct?

Is it possible to schedule tour after 4 pm for one person? Earlier that day I am booked for different tour.
Written October 23, 2020
Hi,
I’m currently scheduled for a half-day (4.5 hours) tour of Murano, Torcello, and Burano starting 9am. I would like the remaining half day to visit the Doge’s Palace, Campanile di San Marco, and Basilica di San Marco. Wondering if you offer any combined package for that? For your information, the day of inquiry is on Saturday.

We are looking to do this tour but can only get there on a Sunday. Are there any limitations on dates and times? We are looking to go at the end of June. Also, looking to enter St. Marks Basillica
Written May 3, 2019
There are no limitations about dates, although if you purchase the ticket to avoid the line, you will have to up at the chosen time. If you are planning to stay in a hotel in Venice, my advice is don’t buy the ticket. Venice is crowded during the day due to the cruises that arrive early in the morning. After 6.30 pm you will feel the city is almost empty. So, after that hour, go and enjoy an amazing sunset with only a 5 minute waiting (you only can go upstairs taking the elevator). With regards to the Basilica, entrance to the church is free (no tickets needed; long lines and you wait outdoors, it closes at 5pm). But if you want to go to the terrace you need a special ticket. We took a tour because we wanted to understand something about this jewel and go upstairs to the terrace. It was absolutely worthy!

Written February 27, 2019
Hi Colleen! Yes, you will visit the prisons, as well as the narrow passage where the sentenced to death walked through, known as the Bridge of Sighs. I was 100% satisfied with the knowledge of the guide, very complete and detailed. They provide tourists with a audio device so you don´t need to be stick to the guide.
