About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- J2087NQlb0 contributionsPoor serviceI recommend exploring alternative transportation options, such as the bus or train, as the water taxi service is unreliable and often unpredictable. Don't rely on the timetable, as it seems to be nonexistent. Even if you wait in line for 30 minutes, there’s no guarantee that you will board, which can result in extended waiting times that exceed an hour. Staff are clearly unhelpful.Written March 14, 2025
- Dream117758383850 contributionsGreat introduction to VeniceWe were a bit confused at first as we thought it was max 6 people but they cram as many as they can on the boat plus luggage, but it was such great fun. The boat speeds along and it’s a fabulous way to enter Venice. We were lucky to have the last drop off so had the longest boat trip. Saw some great sights on the way. Well organised and I would recommendWritten March 5, 2025
- davemC9522DA0 contributionsEfficient method to get to Venice form the airport.Alilaguna was efficient, but not the quickest way to get to Venice from the airport. The land bus No5 or Venice Express will get you to Venice station in 20 minutes. To further travel to S Marco, the vaporetto will take 50 minutes. Alilaguna from Airport to S Marco took 80 minutes in total, albeit without having to change.Written February 27, 2025
- marku1940 contributionsWorth the money for an almost door to door service and fast too.Very helpful understanding staff. But please remember to meet the boat and not wait in the hotel. Excellent fast service.Written February 27, 2025
- lilly123Birmingham0 contributionsLoved I'd. Booking our return journeyHad a little wait for our taxi. The drive was great and the experience a must. My daughter was smiling the whole time. Waves hitting against the boat. Felt like James bond film skimming across the water. Truly fabulous It was 6.30pm. So a little dark but made it more excitingWritten February 19, 2025
- Karen H0 contributionsArrive in style!A lovely way to arrive from the airport to Venice Island. They don’t take you to the door of your hotel but each stop is planned so only a short walk. Lovely to chat with other visitors on the short trip over.Written February 18, 2025
- JaneAnne680 contributionsHighly recommendedService is excellent. We used the service both ways for our trip to Venice. Waited 10 minutes for the service to Venice and they were 10 minutes early for the return trip. I also had communication with the company which was immediate. Would highly recommend to anyoneWritten February 9, 2025
- Abdirahim M0 contributionsGreat way to travelVery good service and a nice way to travel. Took around 30 mins to our hotel. There was around 10-11 people on the boat, but enough space for everyone.Written February 9, 2025
- paul h0 contributionsGood option to get into VeniceThe desk was easy to find and the shared water taxi was fast and got us to the Rialto bridge in around 30 minutes. I’m sure the details in the booking said it would drop you off at the hotel but we were given a map to the hotel instead. Even though it’s only a 5 minute walk we did get lost. We had to wait around 30 minutes before the other passengers arrived before we could take the taxi.Written February 6, 2025
- hastig20250 contributionsEconomy transportation* It’s kind of an economic water transportation with average quality. * one way ticket to the airport from the Venice is around 16€, Uber or taxi costs more than 60€ * I use it from the airport to the Venice and opposite route. * I prefer it to taxi not only because of the prices but also for the amazing route and view🙂of sailing. * most of the boats don’t have outdoor sitting chair, all the chairs are in cabin. * there are not special sitting chairs for disabled person but there is some spaces out of the cabin for them, so in cold or rainy weather is not comfortable for disabled person.Written February 2, 2025

- Connector5891620 contributionsBook directly with vendors, Trip Advisor is the worstDO NOT BOOK ANYTHING THROUGH TRIP ADVISOR. Help center and support do not work, cannot find a phone number on the website and there was absolutely no airport transfer available for us when we got off our flight. We attempted to call the number provided, we asked the folks at the Alilaguna desk to call and were told there were no water taxis. There was no communication with us as to the reason and now there is no way to request a refund because the Trip Advisor website is so poor. They could not find the reservation I made last week. Overall very disappointed.Written January 21, 2025

- Julie F0 contributionsMagical ride into Venice! We arrived in Venice at 8:10 pm. The airport is very quiet at that time of night in January, so we were very glad to have prebooked our water taxi. The desk was still open and the young woman there was waiting for us! We picked up our ticket, walked to the boat dock and were underway immediately. Although this is a shared taxi, it turned into a private ride as there were no other passengers! Riding into Venice by the light of an almost full moon was just magical!Written January 14, 2025

There is no other place on Planet Earth that compares to Venice! A truly unique city on the water! I thought that I had done all the necessary research before I left, but there is always more to do and first hand experience is always the best teacher. We came off a cruise ship in Trieste that is two hours by train away from Venice. We rode in a first class coach (worth the extra $) to the Mestre train station, where we had to switch trains to take us to S.Lucia station on the island. Almost missed our connection because our train had switched platforms and there are no schedule boards on the platforms. The announcements for changes are only in Italian, so we didn't get the "memo". After arriving, I purchased a two day pass for the water taxi (70 euros for two) and proceeded to get on the Vaporetto only to discover we got on the wrong one and received an unwanted tour around the island for an hour and a half. Certain routes are clockwise, others are counter-clockwise, so guess which one we got on? The instructions for the water taxi are vague. We wound up back where we started at the train station, where we started a 35 min bag-drag to our hotel. We happened upon an independent luggage porter with an empty dolly who carted our bags to the hotel for 25 euros (well worth it to us since we are not young any more). Our hotel, Ai Mori d'Oriente, was booked through a travel agent. Room was spacious and very nice, but the tub/shower was a bit small(typical in Europe). You couldn't ask for a better staff. All of them spoke very good english and were very helpful. Our travel agency also booked us a private tour of the Doge's Palace and the Basilica San Marco. It was in one word; amazing! Our tour guide, Christina was a veritable history book and her English was impeccable. Because of my mistake with the water taxi, we walked to the palace to meet up with the guide (didn't want to chance it). There are no streets to speak of, only canals and sidewalks. The bridges over the canals have steps (some have ramps), which would be challenging for someone with mobility problems.
If your'e a foodie, Venice is your city! Everywhere you turn there is a restaurant or bar with the most wonderful choices of things to eat!
The hotel staff told us there was a private water taxi that could pick us up right out in front of the hotel and take us directly to the airport. I had them book it right then. I wasn't going to mess around with bag dragging to the train station where there would be another 1/3 mile walk to the taxi/Uber/bus pickup location. Also, the boat ride was a blast (140 euros and well worth it to me)!
Recommendations: Plan to spend more than a day and a half there and get the straight skinny on how the Vaporetto system works so you don't waste valuable time like I did.

The service of arrival to boat was first class. However the driver had an appalling attitude, why I don’t know we certainly hadn’t done anything wrong. So much so our Italian agent in Venice also commented how rude he was, our bags were just thrown onto the canal side.
I have visited Venice before with water Taxi, the sail into Venice really does allow you to capture the true beauty of the city. However this time we were taken the industrial route, if I’d known I wouldn’t have booked at all...total let down.
I do understand that Venice is fragile and there are restrictions on routes, if this was the case the tour operator had our details and this should have been pointed out to us
Wasn’t pleased at all

When we got out of the customs area into the arrival hall, we spent more than 20 minutes looking for our greeter without success. I called the provided Bucintoro Viaggi numbers multiple times, but all I got was a recorded message. When I finally found the operator's booth with my name on the window after about 25 minutes, the operator claimed that they were at the designated spot with my name waiting, which I doubt as my family was checking many times on our exit into the arrival hall. The instructions should state to go to the Bucintoro Viaggi counter in case we do not see the greeter with our name or they should answer their phone number. Also, the representative was supposed to take us to the pier embarkation point. He never did this and just gave us directions to get there. However, once we found our water taxi, it went very well and we had a fast and fun ride to the door of our hotel and the driver was very friendly and helpful.
This might have been an off night for them, but given the premium price that is charged for this service, there is certainly room for improvement.

I made a reservation through Get your xxx. It is not recommended unless you have plenty of time and no reservation after arrival. It takes too much time and effort.
First, you can go here and there to redeem your ticket, and then you have to walk endlessly with your heavy baggage to the beach. When I finally got to the pier, it was hard to tell where to get to and there was no guidance, so I wandered around looking for a boarding area and lost a lot of time on the pier.
Every 30 minutes, you have to wait 30 minutes if the timing is not right. The young staff, perhaps from a foreign country, are so goofy that they ignore me when I call them out and they don't leave. After I found the boarding area at the blowout pier, I stood there for 45 minutes and it was completely cold and chilly.
It was already nearly two hours between arrival at the airport and departure of the ship, and I totally fell off schedule and had to cancel some bookings for a valuable trip .
There is no travel sentiment unique to Venice that I expected. The interior windows are so high that it is difficult to see the view outside. It shakes so much that I think it's going to tip over. The bus stop is also in the middle of nowhere.
If this is your way home, you have missed your flight. In Venice, you'll ride a Vaporetto, and I didn't think you'd bother ruining your trip with such a loose boat.

The only advantage with this airline is for the trip to Venice airport. The rest is scam
We took a 72 h ticket (to avoid) already more expensive '(65 €) than ACTV and we were not able to use it during our stay because our tickets were never recognized ..the round trip we took only worked on the way out. On the return the 72 hours were supposed to have passed.. fortunately a "nice controller" on arrival at the airport asked us 20 euros cash (which he put in his pocket) and opened the barrier ....!!!

This transfer was well worth the cost! Getting into Venice from the airport can be challenging and hectic, but this was effortless and quite pleasurable. We booked the “Full Service”. An agent was waiting for us with our name on a placard as we exited customs. She took our luggage and we followed her to our private water taxi, a speed boat that took us straight to our hotel in at least half the time it would have taken with other means of transportation. There was no waiting time and no hassles.

This airport transfer was booked shortly before our trip as a surprise for my Mother. Whilst there was a 20 minute delay to await for the speedboat to arrive the host was attentive and polite and remained with us until the boat arrived.
The transfer was as expected until the time came to disembark. The boat pulled into a jetty where it was not possible to get the boat any closer than 3ft from the jetty, the boat was also 8-10 inches lower than the jetty itself. My 80 year Mother was terrified at prospect of having to stand int he too of the boat in rough water whilst also trying to jump across the gap and up onto the jetty. The guy who was the driver of the speedboat was very rude, impatient and aggressive shouting at her to “get on with it”, “this is Venice. Get used to it” and “the water is not very deep anyway” followed by if she didn’t get out of the boat quickly he would drive her back to the airport and she could go home again. Despite the fact she was physically shaking from head to foot this barrage of abuse continued for 10 minutes. Eventually another boat driver arrived and reassured her and assisted in her disembarking from the boat. By this time she was crying and very physically shaken by the whole experience!!

Dear Adventure59417715690,
We are sorry to read that you had a bad experience with our service and we apologise if you felt mistreated by the driver.
Could you please give us more information about the time/date of your transfer? we would like to investigate more on the matter. Our company mission is to deliver a great transportation service and we dissociate from rude behaviours.
Unfortunately transports in Venice are complicated and this is due to the nature of the city. It was probably low tide and getting off the taxi could have been trickier for an older person but we cannot do much about it.
We apologise once again and we invite you to e-mail our customer care with more details on the event.
Best regards

The transfer was very easy to find and they had a representative take us down to the dock area and stay until we were on the taxi. The taxi service took us right to our hotel on one of the canals and the boat was well maintained and fast. The cost is a little high, but the ride was great and we had great peace of mind knowing we had an easy way to get where we needed to be.

The second floor is the departure lobby and the first floor is the arrival lobby.
Although it is an easy-to-understand airport,
The departure lobby on the second floor is
"Bound for America" takes up a lot of space.
I asked the attendant, 'Where are the Iberia check-in counters?' When I asked,
It's the first floor. I asked the security on the first floor and they said, 'We're leaving upstairs! Get up. That's what I say.
I asked another person, "We're leaving upstairs!" That's what I say. That's why it's on the first floor on the message board. I went to the front of the notice board and pointed out, "Go upstairs!" And he ran away.
As it happened, there was a taxi driver who was a customer at the time of entry, so I asked him.
It's like he's a taman, he's on the second floor, he tells me to go upstairs. No, no, no. If I show them the first floor of the bulletin board, this is why Japanese people are in trouble. And...
As you say. Go upstairs. I laughed and left.
I've asked a number of security guards and staff.
Everybody, we're leaving upstairs! That's what I say. He is an Italian who never listens to people.
I can't wait to go to the business class lounge.
My wife and I looked around, and there was a passageway at the end of the road to the port, and there was a check-in counter on the first floor with people, people, people, that surprised me.
Why are security guards, staff, and customers
You don't know this place, do you?
There is no indication at all. -Why.
He's really a sloppy Italian.

The person whom we were looking with our name was hard to find. The paper with out name was covered by another paper so it could not be seen. The meeting person did not know which dock to go and did not walk with us to the dock. Upon finding the dock the other person had to call for a taxi and it was not ready. It should have been more organized and much better service for the high price we pay.

In addition to airport to hotel can I book hotel to train? I assume hotel to train would be less.

We have a late arrival, 11:30 p.m.. Will we be able to get a transfer at that time?
Written August 29, 2019
We booked our private transfer from the airport to our hotel vis the Viator app. You might call their customer service line to see if they can accommodate a late arrival.
Written August 29, 2019
Hello there - it says in the additional information that the price is per person - but I've added 4 adults and the price remains about £200? Please could someone clarify?
Written August 9, 2019
Yes, that would be correct I believe - the price is for the hire of the motor boat, which will take up to a maximum of 6 passengers and 1 item of hand luggage each. It is pricey, but it is the only way to arrive in Venice - absolutely thrilling ‘James Bond’ style!
Written August 9, 2019
I keep seeing that there is a maximum of 1 suitcase and 1 carry on each. I have 2 suitcases and a carry on. Will they refuse me or charge me extra or what?
Written June 20, 2019
If you are taking a private transfer and it is only you, they would likely have zero problem with an extra bag. The boats easily handle 6 people plus luggage.
Written June 20, 2019
Hello Teresa,
I am not sure what they charge for excess baggage. We were a family of 5 with 5 large suitcases, a large duffel bag and 5 backpacks. It did not seem to be a problem and nothing was said. Their website mentions one suitcase and one carry on per person. There is a note if there is extra baggage beyond that is to call them and ask. They may or may not allow it depending on the group size. Hope that helps.
