- LoveAdventure194300Wonderful Way to Enter the Beautiful CityThis was a fun way to start my vacation in Venice. Since that airport is North of the city. the ride took me through the entire city of Venice on a beautiful day before arriving near my hotel in the St. Mark's Area. Only regret is that I had to pay for a couple even though I was traveling solo. However, it was a easy path to navigate from my plane (except for the extend walk to the dock) to my final destination. Wish they had a single's rate.
- Relax56492700Fun way to travel!Meeting point was not extremely clear as there were several other taxi services at the same area. Nobody around at 6:20AM. The airport taxi arrived a few minutes late. Enough to make you panic especially on your way to the airport. After he arrived, it was smooth.
- nicholal96200Easy transfer San Polo airport to VeniceIt was easy to book, and exchange the voucher for a ticket at the Alilunga terminal. Also well signed at the airport and a relatively easy walk to the water terminal. The ride to Venice was interesting and comfortable.
- B7861GWdebbies00A few days in Vence before a beautiful cruise.I love Venice. I had been there before, but only for a short cruise stop. We saw so much more this time. It's very crowded; even in October! We stayed in a hotel near the Rialto bridge (which accounted for the crowds). Unfortunately for cruise visitors, you can't dock right in Venice anymore. They have found that this is ruining the canal system. So, you have to go to a place called Chioggia which is over an hour away! Hopefully, the city will find a better spot to dock cruise ships. We spent time in the Jewish Ghetto (the oldest one in the world). Well worth the trip if this is of interest to you. The tour of the Doges Palace however, we found to be a waste of time.
- Fearless0731469438600Awful experienceWhen we purchase the ticket online, we listed where we were going. Once we landed and finally found the desk to get our ticket, they said we couldn’t get there with a water taxi and refused to give us a ticket. We didn’t even have the option of speakingto the taxi driver. So we paid for the ticket and we’re not able to use it. The people at the ticket desk were extremely rude and very unhelpful. I would not recommend.
- H8590NDstuartr00recommending the shared taxi serviceReally satisfied with our shared water taxi sevice. Had to wait a short while at Marco Polo but in fairness our flight was delayed. The return service was perfect, with our pick up right on time. We saved a little over 50% by choosing the shared taxi service.
- janettea201400Taxi Bus transportationExcellent transportation - instructions to desk 71 could be a little easier But once found very easy. Taxi boat was an excellent start to our break
- U4720ERjonh00Waste of moneyNo where in the airport to receive the prepared voucher for our water taxi into Venice so went to the dock and were told it was back at the airport? We had walked 15 minutes with all our luggage and we’re not going back to the airport. Hired a water taxi at the dock. Don’t book from home.
- CurtisSDL00Desk 71When you come out of baggage claim there are blue signs indicating where to go for water transit. After a 10-15 minute hike to the water terminal you will arrive where there is no Desk 71. Confused, you will ask where is Desk 71 is? You will be told it is back in the Arrival Terminal. So after a 10-15 minute hike back to the arrival hall you will desperalely eventually find Desk 71 totally out of sequence with any other desk signage. Where is desk 70? 72? After finally having the bar code scanned from the TA reservation escanned you will be handed an old school chit and told what dock to wait at for your other travelers. After another 10-15 minute hike back to the water taxi dock (we're up to 45 minutes back and forth by now) you will need to wait for over another 30 minutes to be crammed below deck for the ride to your hotel with a total of 12 passengers and their luggage. It will then take up to another hour plus to get to your hotel depending on the arrival sequence determined by the driver. Note that as the driver loads you it is LIFO, (Last In, First Out). Later, when you have time to figure out what exactly you got wrong or missed in this scenario, you review the TA information which says, "Please refer to our desk number 71 at the arrival hall." Buon Viaggio!
- amhanstein00Save your $$$ and take the public ACTV.I wish I had a better review, but honestly, I think the public water taxi is a better bet. We landed and had to wait 45 minutes for our taxi (they put you on a taxi with people from different flights) and then found out that we would be dropped at a public ACTV station. Additionally, our driver was NOT friendly and was actually rather short with everyone.
- ingridj21200Good transport optionTransport from the Marco Polo airport to Venice on the Alilaguna boats was very easy. It takes a while, but it’s a comfortable ride. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes from the airport to San Marco. We booked online, and exhanged our printed paper for tickets at the ticket office right next to where the boats leave and arrive. Follow signs from the main terminal at the airport. It ways WATER TRANSPORT. The walk to the boats takes about 10 to 15 minutes, depending on your speed. We were able to take either the Red Line and the Blue Line, as both go to San Marco stop, which suited us. There was place for our luggage at the front of the boat, and the staff were helpful. Recommended.
- Eli00600Check in at desk 71Efficient service but do ensure you check in at desk 71 in the arrivals hall (exit from baggage claim and turn left). Don’t go straight to the water taxis. Desk 71 will check you in and allocate spaces on the boats before directing you to the waterside. Boat ride is speedy and quite exciting and takes you direct into the heart of Venice.
- 502maddyc00A wonderful few hours spent in Venice, whilst our cases stayed at the airport. We had about 8 hours to kill at Marco Polo airport in Venice with all our cases, but having never been to Venice before we wanted to explore the city. Firstly from late spring to early autumn there is a left luggage place at the airport where for 7 Euros per case you can leave suitcases for 6 hours. from then on it is 50 cents per hour up till 9pm when they close. Having left our cases we needed to get to central Venice. The queue for the taxi boats was MASSIVE and very expensive, so we got a coach to Venice and back - no queueing and very reasonably priced. Venice was lovely, and you can walk around to most parts on foot. It was lovely to get an impression of the city ad we enjoyed it very much.
- Janette W00Very disappointedFound taxi ok - good part 15 people crammed onto 1 taxi with all our luggage. Far too many people no room to sit, most people had luggage on their laps. 2 travellers had 3 or 4pieces of luggage. Complete trip was very uncomfortable and unsafe. If an accident occurred no one would of got out. No communication with driver. Very bad first impression of Venice. Just had another shared taxi to return, what a difference. On time no crowding, quite enjoyed it.
- suesA7047CA00Stressful connecting with correct group/guideConfusing finding the correct tour group in the large volume of arriving tourists. Looked for someone with a placard and our name...no luck. Had to blindly ask around until we found the office who told us where to wait for the water taxi ( 20 minutes wait). We did not see a name or placard in the arrival area of the airport. Also, water taxis are available there at arrival so I don't see the advantage of booking ahead.

This airport transfer was booked shortly before our trip as a surprise for my Mother. Whilst there was a 20 minute delay to await for the speedboat to arrive the host was attentive and polite and remained with us until the boat arrived.
The transfer was as expected until the time came to disembark. The boat pulled into a jetty where it was not possible to get the boat any closer than 3ft from the jetty, the boat was also 8-10 inches lower than the jetty itself. My 80 year Mother was terrified at prospect of having to stand int he too of the boat in rough water whilst also trying to jump across the gap and up onto the jetty. The guy who was the driver of the speedboat was very rude, impatient and aggressive shouting at her to “get on with it”, “this is Venice. Get used to it” and “the water is not very deep anyway” followed by if she didn’t get out of the boat quickly he would drive her back to the airport and she could go home again. Despite the fact she was physically shaking from head to foot this barrage of abuse continued for 10 minutes. Eventually another boat driver arrived and reassured her and assisted in her disembarking from the boat. By this time she was crying and very physically shaken by the whole experience!!

Dear Adventure59417715690,
We are sorry to read that you had a bad experience with our service and we apologise if you felt mistreated by the driver.
Could you please give us more information about the time/date of your transfer? we would like to investigate more on the matter. Our company mission is to deliver a great transportation service and we dissociate from rude behaviours.
Unfortunately transports in Venice are complicated and this is due to the nature of the city. It was probably low tide and getting off the taxi could have been trickier for an older person but we cannot do much about it.
We apologise once again and we invite you to e-mail our customer care with more details on the event.
Best regards

The person whom we were looking with our name was hard to find. The paper with out name was covered by another paper so it could not be seen. The meeting person did not know which dock to go and did not walk with us to the dock. Upon finding the dock the other person had to call for a taxi and it was not ready. It should have been more organized and much better service for the high price we pay.

We booked a private transfer and they never showed up. We waited around for an hour, and they never arrived, or called. Save your money and book at the airport from the very nice people in the arrivals. They have been refusing to refund us too!

So we paid for our meet and greet only to have to wait around for another couple, even though we paid for a private boat. We then walked with the meet and greet girl for her to point to the water taxi we were taking. Those water taxis are there anyway, its a complete con. We ended up paying £40 to wait for another couple when we could have just got straight on a private boat. Its a complete con, don't waste your money, there are loads of private boats just waiting at the pier, its really easy and there are signs everywhere.

I was looking forward to my meet and greet and my luggage taken to the Watertaxi. Unfortunately we had to wait a while in the arrival hall until confirmation of our watertaxi arrival then we had to drag our luggage to the watertaxi ourselves. The Watertaxi driver was miserable he could just bearly help me into the boat he never greeted us with Buongiomo.
Unfortunately due to this experience I would not book a Water taxi throught Tripadvisor again.

Zero star if there is an option for that. Booked with this company via Viator and paid over $380 for an arrival transfer with guide for my elderly parents. I didn't mind paying more for a guide to assist my parents with their luggage and ensure they arrive safely. Yet, these guys never showed up so my parents waited for an hour at the arrival hall. They checked all the signs and none had their names on it. I called Viator to try and reach these guys but they are unreachable. Couple that with a very unstable VOIP connection in Venice made matters even worse. It brought a lot of unnecessary stress for me and my parents even before our vacation started. So, after waiting an hour, my parents went and got their own water taxi as I had to instruct them how to do it over the phone.
After my parents arrived, I spent hours on the phone with Viator letting them know this vendor did not show. But it seems these guys are denying that fact. At this point, it's not even about the money anymore. I paid for a service, and they did not deliver. They had my elderly parents wander around at the airport needlessly for 1.5 hours. This is unacceptable! I will go through all channels to pursue a full refund, even if I need to take legal actions.
Do yourself a favor and don't book arrival transfer with these guys. When they don't show, it truly ruins your vacation. You can get a water taxi at the airport directly, and it will only take half an hour at most.
This operator also offers other tours around the city as well. I'd think twice before booking anything with these guys given their lack of professionalism and seems to also lie about providing a service that they did not. Avoid them at all cost.

The service of arrival to boat was first class. However the driver had an appalling attitude, why I don’t know we certainly hadn’t done anything wrong. So much so our Italian agent in Venice also commented how rude he was, our bags were just thrown onto the canal side.
I have visited Venice before with water Taxi, the sail into Venice really does allow you to capture the true beauty of the city. However this time we were taken the industrial route, if I’d known I wouldn’t have booked at all...total let down.
I do understand that Venice is fragile and there are restrictions on routes, if this was the case the tour operator had our details and this should have been pointed out to us
Wasn’t pleased at all

This was a perfect way to arrive in Venice. As we walked out of customs, there was a lady holding a sign with our name on it very clear to see/read. We never had to wander around and wonder where to go. She offered to get porters to take our luggage to the dock so we didn't have to drag them along it was included in the price we paid.
We walked approximately 10 minutes with her to the dock and our luggage was there waiting for us. We got into the boat and we were off!
The driver took us through the Grand Canal and we thoroughly enjoyed the views. We arrived at the dock of our hotel and a bellman was waiting for us to get the luggage.
It was a PERFECT and stress free way to arrive in Venice. I would definitely recommend this transfer!

After arriving tired from our long flight to Venice from Toronto, four travelers in our 60's were thrilled to see our name on a sign as soon as we walked out of the luggage area.
A charming young men was waiting for us and helped with the bags. taking us directly and easily to our private water taxi which was waiting for us.
No need to search for signs or directions,
It was a pleasure not to have to try to figure out where to go and who to pay since this was our first visit to Venice.
On this particular Sunday of our arrival, there was a regatta so many of the normal canal routes were closed off and the boat was unable to take us to the dock in front of our hotel. These things happen and we would have been at a total loss of where and how to get to our hotel from where the boat had to drop us off.
Fortuately we had arranged for the transfer agent to take us directly to the hotel.
He knew the streets and how to get to our hotel in minutes!
He even helped us get our bags to our rooms and get us settled comfortably in the hotel.
This service - especially for four people - was the perfect way to arrive in Venice for weary, older travelers.

Hello there - it says in the additional information that the price is per person - but I've added 4 adults and the price remains about £200? Please could someone clarify?
Yes, that would be correct I believe - the price is for the hire of the motor boat, which will take up to a maximum of 6 passengers and 1 item of hand luggage each. It is pricey, but it is the only way to arrive in Venice - absolutely thrilling ‘James Bond’ style!

I keep seeing that there is a maximum of 1 suitcase and 1 carry on each. I have 2 suitcases and a carry on. Will they refuse me or charge me extra or what?

If you are taking a private transfer and it is only you, they would likely have zero problem with an extra bag. The boats easily handle 6 people plus luggage.

What are the charges for excess luggage?
wooski
Rome, Italy424 contributions
Hello Teresa,
I am not sure what they charge for excess baggage. We were a family of 5 with 5 large suitcases, a large duffel bag and 5 backpacks. It did not seem to be a problem and nothing was said. Their website mentions one suitcase and one carry on per person. There is a note if there is extra baggage beyond that is to call them and ask. They may or may not allow it depending on the group size. Hope that helps.
