About
This sightseeing tour allows you to see three islands in the Venetian Lagoon in half a day. Visitors often visit Murano—well-known for its glass-blowing factory—but fewer make it to Burano and Torcello, with their lace-making shops and ornate palaces and churches. The tour also offers two departure times a day, making it easier to fit into your schedule.

If the idea of using the local public water bus is too intimidating, then this tour is for you. It will get you to 3 locations you otherwise wouldn't see, and will get you back. Beyond that, it doesn't offer much extra. There is a commentary during the excursion that points out various features along the way that was interesting, or would have been if I could hear it over the boats motor noise. Murano was interesting because of the glass blowing demonstration... But it was very short. Most shops on the island also sell glass and claim to offer demonstrations, though. Torcello was a decent walk to an old church area that cost to get in, and then a decent walk back. I could have skipped that. Burano had the pretty colored houses and lace shops. This time there was no coordinated lace making demonstration for our group.. Instead, you had to go find it on your own in one of the various shops.

I have not idea how the tour costs compared to buying your own tickets on the public boats. If the price is the same or cheaper, then you'd have the advantage of staying as long as you want versus keeping to the tour schedule. We saw people who arrived at the boat about 10 seconds too late that were left behind at the first island... So they got to pay for the tour AND local public boat rides. Be warned.

Final note. The instructions were a little vague about departure time. The time listed is from San Marco square. If you are getting on at the train station, it leaves a half hour earlier. Read the instructions carefully and get there early.

Interesting tour. Be sure to arrive with time at the ticket redemption point in Alilaguna that is a very busy place. Wear comfy shoes and bring water, especially in summer. Very interesting and informative show at the Murano’s glass factory. They will offer glass art half a price, but the truth is you can find it cheaper in other retailers all over Venice. Burano with its colorful houses is a jewel. Torcello is a beautiful, quiet bucolic place. There is an informal but cozy eatery for snacks, fish, pizza, water and drinks at a moderate price. The famous medieval church at the end of the island is a “must see”.

It's just a waste of time. To begin with, the tour is conducted in 4 languages at once !!! First, a couple of phrases are spoken in Italian, then in German, Spanish, and finally English. Sometimes, when the turn came to English, we already swam the object of the conversation.

The first stop is Murano. 15 minutes of a truly spectacular glass making show. That was the only good thing about the tour. Then you are given 20 minutes from above to walk, but you do not have time to see anything, but Murano is a beautiful island and I would like to spend more time there. Then you are taken to the island of Torcello. An empty and uninteresting island. You are dropped off and sent alone to the church for the entrance to which you have to pay 5 euros, which no one informed about before the start of the tour. 40 minutes on an empty island. Bravo! Then you are taken to the Burano island where you are also left alone for 40 minutes. Pretty cute little island with colorful buildings. However, by that time you no longer have the mood and desire to look at houses. At the end you will finally be brought back.

This is the worst and most useless waste of time in Venice. Please do not make my mistake and it is better to take a separate ticket for Murano and Burano. You will get much more pleasure. Find information from the tour (of which there was very little) in Wikipedia. There is much more of it!

Dear pavlov32, we are sorry to read you were not completely satisfied with our tour. Murano, Burano and Torcello are among the most beautiful islands of the Venetian Lagoon and we understand the desire to spend more time on each island. Nevertheless, our half-day boat tour aims to give only a panoramic view of the life, culture and traditions of 3 islands for a very competitive price (20 Euro!). We think it's a great price for what we offer: private transportation from Venice center, hostess that provides multilingual explanations on board (which for us is an added value), free glassblowing demonstration in an ancient furnace and so on. We also understand that Burano can be the most charming island among the 3, but the other 2 aren't less worthy: Torcello is the first island that was inhabited even before Venice, and Murano has a long tradition in the art of glass making that has made this island famous all over the world starting from the 14th century. You can easily find all this information on our website or by asking to one of our ticket office: the tour is exactly how it is described. Thank you for choosing Bucintoro Viaggi, Best regards,

I was very concerned about being late for the excursion based on the reviews. When we arrived at the pier the queue was incredibly long. About 15 minutes after the start time, a small boat arrived. They were unable to load all the passengers. We were informed the large boat was out of commission and were working with a smaller boat. We were informed another boat would be coming for the remaining passengers.

An hour after the original departure time, 2 water taxis came to take us to Murano. We were greeted on the pier by a gentleman who ushered us into a glass blowing factory where we were given a demonstration and then shown the store. We were told we would have an additional 1.5 hours to explore the island since we would be joining the next group!

We explored some of the shops and enjoyed our time, returning to the pier at the appointed time only to be informed there would be an additional delay of 45 minutes. Once more after those 45 minutes had passed and still no boat, we were told the boat had broken down and they were trying to get the issue resolved but didn’t have a time estimate.

We opted to take public transportation back to Venice since we had already spent the entire duration of the planned excursion waiting on boats that did not appear to be reliable.

This was the first time we have been in Venice and this trip was a great way to see the surrounding islands and it's different cultures.
The guide (Francesca B. - ask for her) knew a lot of the history about the many different islands and Venice in general.
The glass factory on Murano was amazing and seeing the sculptures at work was a great experience.
Though it was clearly Burano wich was the main attraction with it's many beautiful colored houses and scenery
Can only recommend!

Well organized tour with just enough individual time (45 minutes) on each island. I believe there are tours that give you 90 minutes on each island but that would have been too much for us. Our tour guide spoke four languages and did each announcement in all four! Burano was my favorite with its brightly-colored buildings and quaint shops.

This guided boat excursion to the three famous picturesque small islands in the Venice lagoon is very popular and deserves the visit. A specially attraction is the glass blowing demonstration in Murano and Burano is the most picturesque with its small houses painted in eye pleasing bright colours. The length of the visit is a bit short for the three islands, but fits short tourist programs.

We're so glad we chose to do this.
For 20 euros each we got to take a boat to see all 3 of these islands.
You see a short glass blowing demonstration on one island.
Another island has beautiful, brightly colored houses.
The guide on the boat tells you about various sights on the canal in 4 different languages.
We thought it was great, especially for the price.
Certainly a lot cheaper than a gondola ride!

Dear Nashville_brent_65, thank you so much for this great review! We are really happy to read that you enjoyed our island tour. Murano, Burano and Torcello are indeed stunning: in our opinion, visiting them is not something a vistor wants to miss. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Venice and we wish to see you again in your next visit. Best regards,

It was a very quick tour of the two islands. It was nice to watch the glass blowing demonstrations but it left only 45 minutes for exploring Murano. If you want to explore the islands more and maybe have lunch or a drink it may be better to get the water bus. The information given by the operator was very interesting
